Where is Oddworld?

Where in the univers is Oddworld?

Xavier 07-08-2002 08:38 AM

molluck2 07-08-2002 08:49 AM

i know how to get there!
get in the rocket and fly,fly,fly,fly...
(remember:try not to get into any blackholes)
this trip will take you 9999999999999999999999999999999lightyears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so aswer me : is this trip really nesesary

Xavier 07-08-2002 08:51 AM

lightyear is not a time mesure but a distance mesure.

Wil 07-08-2002 10:07 AM

The planet of Oddworld isn't set anywhere in particular, but I think you'll find the creators, when interrogated, will tell you it 'takes place' in a different dimension/universe/reality/plane of existance to our own.

Xavier 07-08-2002 10:27 AM

I don't like the idea oddworld could be in the same "dimension" as the Earth.
I don't want any "physical" relation between them

kleeng 07-10-2002 03:54 PM

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away......

No wait, thats star wars...?...

Um I don't know, some where in the mystycal univers of Nog?:fuzconf:

Oddsville 07-10-2002 04:00 PM

It exsits in the Mind and heart of Lorne Lanning and the others at OWI.:fuzwink:

Oh, yeah not to mention the minds and hearts of its fans... :fuzwink:

Xavier 07-10-2002 04:12 PM

oho oddsville is being poetic.
but it's so true...

Iantiger 07-11-2002 03:53 AM

I wish it were real!

If it were as close as the moon to earth, It'd be really cool, coz all the Oddworldians cud take their holidays on Earth and we'd have vykkers and mudokons and stuff walking around the streets of London and New York, window shopping and stuff!

And we could do the same to their planet.

Hmmm... I wonder if they'd enslave us, or are we too good for them/too well respected/too tough?

Xavier 07-11-2002 05:39 AM

personnaly I don't want to see oddworldians and humans have relations.

it will break the system

Kaimana 07-11-2002 05:41 AM

clearly there is no rome for humans and Oddworldians to live together,i imply rome as if i were to say that they would not get along.we would try to influence them and i dont think they would like.

Why do you need to know?:fuzconf: Are you planning a holiday there?

Danny 07-13-2002 08:46 AM

Oddworld is in another dimension, as it were. I'll just go and get the quote.

:

While Oddworld exists in a different plane than our Earth, its inhabitants can't escape the issues that seem to glom onto any sentient beings, regardless of location.
See? Problem solved.

The oddworld history of the old site?

Danny 07-13-2002 03:47 PM

That sentence, Xavier, was in the block of text you posted from the old Oddworld site... :D

Xavier 07-13-2002 04:00 PM

I knew it was fammiliar...
well yeah the oddworld history of the old site
I don't know each text by heard (english is still to hard for me to allow that)

Jacobsucks 07-13-2002 06:43 PM

It's here

If you dig a big hole and fill it with money, sticks, dreams, and chacolate unicorns, You can jump into the hole and find oddworld. (a sentances From my comic happy noodle boy):)

Xavier 07-13-2002 06:48 PM

there is an easier way...
close your eyes and use something called "reflection"

Jacobsucks 07-13-2002 06:54 PM

Good

I guess I don't have the best way. Xaiver I tried your way and got shot by a slig! I guess I have to not put myself in Ruptear farms :fuzcool:

paramiteabe 07-14-2002 09:13 PM

I think Oddworld exists in the most deepest cornor of the Universe. In an unknown galaxy. When you play AO in the Stock Yards the night sky looks so unknown and so alien that it seems you were sent there and now you are lost somewhere in the Universe. It reminds me of sort of the "out skirts of the Universe" to me. A deep cornor on the edge of the Universe where you can look up and you could see the rest of the Universe. Odd isn't it!:fuzblink: :D

Jacob 07-14-2002 09:40 PM

OW is in Lorne Lannings head...

Kaimana 07-14-2002 09:46 PM

That is very true Jacob, the creator holds the world in the increadable organic dream maker the brain. Oddworld is a powerful place made by a powerful mind of imagination, and life, human life.

Mac the Janitor 07-15-2002 02:48 AM

Umm, I think he might have been a tad sarcastic...

dripik 08-28-2002 11:45 AM

Well, I think it's better to play Oddworld than be enslaved by Glukkons, chased by Scrabs and Paramites, beaten by Sligs and biten by Slogs. Think about it... :D

Xavier 08-29-2002 03:42 AM

well oddworld is phisicaly unrelated to the earth, it is in a text of the AE site

lindsey 12-18-2002 12:11 AM

WHAT IF WE HAD TO LIVE WETH ODDWORLD

Miss Odd 12-18-2002 05:04 AM

Hey Danny, nice to see you around :) I thought u had left but i must be wrong :)

Oddworld is a figment of Lorne Lanning's imagination, and it doesnt exist... Like Santa and the Tooth Fairy :P But I supose its fun to dream sometimes ;)

:

WHAT IF WE HAD TO LIVE WETH ODDWORLD
oh no...
lindsey, did you reopened the topic only to say that?

Alector 12-18-2002 06:51 AM

One thing I know :

It's certainly not around our solar system!

:

oho oddsville is being poetic.
Indeed, he always is!:fuzwink:

Alcar 12-18-2002 06:55 AM

Ah good to see you online Alector!

I too, believe that Oddworld resides in our hearts (figure of speech). It's why it means so much to the people that understand it, and so little to the people who don't.

Alcar...

Alector 12-18-2002 07:24 AM

Hi Alcar! *hugs*

I agree with you. Sometimes, the Oddworld seems to be so realistic. It's like our world. The only difference is these creatures open a new world to us.

This is so fascinating of the Oddworld, don't you think so?

well it's intended to... to show our world a different way, the way the exploited peoples see it

sure we do :fuzwink:

M.O.M 12-18-2002 01:52 PM

It doesn't matter where oddworld is or what dimension/time era/plane of gravity/part of the time space continum it is in....what matters it that it entertains everyone and everything!

lindsey 12-18-2002 06:57 PM

whats bad abut opaing an old topic

paramiteabe 12-19-2002 11:25 AM

Nothing but don't spam if you do. I have to agree Oddworld is where you wish it to be. After all its part of the incredable power of the imagination. So its where ever you wish it to be. But I wounder if there is an actual world somewhere in the Universe that is similar to Oddworld in ways? Perhaps!:D

Al the Vykker 12-21-2002 06:41 PM

:

Ah good to see you online Alector!
I would have to second that welcome back.:) Its been a while since we've seen you. If you were busy I can understand, I know that feeling all too much. Well I have finished my exams this week for second term. And now I have off along with my one brother who is in high school also, for two and a half weeks. And then also my brother who is a freshman in college, he has off for three weeks.

And to talk in response to the topic, Oddworld might be that universe we see in our minds, that our minds create. A reminder of our world, the problems the great things all just somewhere we wish we could be.

-Al the Vykker

BigBro 12-21-2002 11:32 PM

This is just taking fanaticism to a new and disturbing level. Yes, Oddworld is a videogame, and it doesnt exist in reality, moreso in the hearts, minds and imaginations of the creators and fans. We can imagine and take it to different levels, but believing something fictional exists is, mind the harshness, ludicrous. I understand we all have vivid imaginations, but this is going too far.

Ok, just let me get to a good distance before throwing pies...

Jacobsucks 12-22-2002 08:02 PM
