Okay... I'm fascinated with mythology, so I'll answer your questions... a Naiad is a spirit of water, and a Gryphon is the same as a Griffin - a creature with the front half of an eagle, and the back half of a lion.

Again, it's pinkgoth2, although I am flattered to be called pinkgoth. I'm not a dragon slayer, I'm a raptoric. And draconics I have so far met have been the type to call me weak and pathetic and essayed me about "how they were made to protect people", as if I couldn't protect myself. I am draconic in spirit. Don't worry, I am not like the ones you have met before. I am a very open minded individual that respects others beliefs (provided they don't try to shove them down my throat), my personity is border line pure neutral, though some topics of conversation get me talking like no tomorrow...
I do believe all dragons were good and protected the world...that is until some turned bad and caused humans to start slaughtering us. I am sorry you had met up with ones that are bitter and egotisical...most I know are not like that. Raptoric? As in Dino raptor? iI so sweet! After doing the test three times I was A Gryphon, Dragon and a Gorgon.
