Ok people, I just wanted to know what Squeek was going to do. So what? Now it makes us imature just because we think those sounds in the game are funny? It's just funny to hear those things in Oddworld. Even if it is imature. It's just a funny thing in Oddworld. Now tell me, would you like Oddworld without those noises? It adds to the oddness of the game and the realisim. Plus it's humerous. Comeon, How many games that you know where you can actually make desgusting sounds like that? Not many that I know of. Look I don't need to tell anybody how old I am just to show my maturety because of the sounds in the Oddworld games. And nobody else has to eaither. The funny things in OW are not the breaking of wind, they are the adult jokes and inuendo's that we of a older generation should get.

You just don't get it do ya? Oddworld is like that because it is funny. Besides it's not like you have to break wind every miniute in the game. You can do that every so often. When everything is quite fart it's sounds odd and funny. And plus what I ment by boy is not the gender as you put it but just saying boy! You dont know me that well...dont judge. If i were to get a rise out of someone i would have done it alot more efficiantly. Also, insecurity cant really be linked to that of breaking of wind...why would i be insecure about break wind? I dont get that AT all. I may be bored but i stand by everything i say, i am mostly against breaking of wind because LADS (As in...most of them) find it so very amusing to break wind and then state 'That was a big one' etc etc. Now...dont get me wrong...when its done once...in a exam...when all is quiet...it can be vaguely amusing. But when they repeat to make vile smells/sounds with their bodily functions it does seem quite sad. And OW promotes the use of smellyness and such like and thats why i find it degrading. And i take the point that lads have been doing this for like...eva...but thats lads for you...they have a IQ of a 6 yr old and the maturity of a 3 yr old. And lads wonder why i call them stupid...

I've never found that funny... I really just don't find creatures making normal bodily functions funny... I don't find it disgusting, either.. Just... Incredibly unfunny. That's just me, I suppose, but I guess I find the more sophisticated things in OW funny. (such as AO and the way it makes fun of capitalism and real life.. Clever humor, not bodily functions)

And, I am not flaming any of you, just telling you that I have never seen the need for the OW games to rely on immature things like that to be funny... It's a natural thing, I have no idea why it's funny... oh well.

I think all the desgusting sounds in the game like farting and burping are just a gag. Thats all. I only use them when you least expect it. Thats how I see those sounds being odd in the game. Like if you were quite for a long time and I did not say anything and I had some muds following me I would out of the blue fart or burp for no apparent reason. Thats one of the things which make Oddworld odd. Doing stuff that just doesent make any sense. Like farting only once in the game out of the blue for no reason at all. Thats odd.

Oh man. Argue, argue, debate, debate. For crying out loud Jacob. If you don't like the farts and burps don't press the X button. Screw the imaaturity and all. Who cares? It's a game! The whole Oddworld concept is getting cheesier and cheesier. OWI aren't trying to create a dead serious game. Although, I myself would personally prefer them to do so. I rdckon they should lower the cheesiness and enhance the horror. That'd be great. But that cheesiness is needed to create the sterotypical planet that is Oddworld.
I reckon they do make the game odd because no other game has used the idea before. It may be pointless and stupid but I have never really thought about it this in depth. Calm down.
As for all those who can handle gross sounds, I reckon Squeek will probably just let out a squeek sound. It may be unoriginal, but I really do think that's the sound we're in for. I doubt Abe's farts are going anywhere in future games either, though I do wish the X button was used for something a little more useful in the gamespeak than that. But eh. It's okay to gas it up with me!

Its encouraging breaking of wind...it may be a normal bodily function but to do it:

1) While in the company of others.
2) Over and over again

I can imagine a large yellow label on Munch's Exoddus with a hazard symbol. The label reads:

Warning: do not attempt to pass wind with frequency. It may cause pain and gut issues.

And I'm also curious of your use of the word 'disgusting', Jacob. Obviously, passing wind in polite company is rude and uncalled for. Disgusting? Disgusting is the man I saw on one of those American talk shows who made his two sons think that women were put on the Earth to labour over men. Disgusting is animal cruelty. I don't think the word could apply to gasseous excretion.

Petty points aside, I don't see why people must get upset over such a topic as the amusing additions Lorne and the OWI team put into the game. As said before, if you don't wish to hear farting, or burping, or whatever, don't press the button. And if you enjoy the humour created by the odd and well-timed trump, by all means go ahead. If you find it hysterical to continually pump your thumb on X and watch Munch belch, for goodness sake, don't turn the volume up too loud, but otherwise, why should anyone else care?

Play the game your own way - don't keep trying to affect the way other people play the game or live their lives. When Abe Babe suggested a non-violent approach to Munch's Oddysee, she didn't exactly belt out an imperative command (thankfully).

Think - what are you actually trying to achieve with your arguement?
