The US/Australian Odd Tour!

The

US/Australian Odd Tour

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspGreetings again, fellow forumers! Yours truly, Pilot, and Abe Babe, have started planning what might just be the first fragment of a great Oddworld Forums Family get together!

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThis Summer starting in the month of June Abe Babe and Pilot will be taking a road trip through part of the United States and Australia. We thought that while we were taking this journey we might be able to meet some of our fellow Oddworld fans/forum members. We decided to post this notification well in advance to see if there is anybody who might me interested in meeting up with us.. and maybe getting something interesting! In the United States, we will be driving through various parts of Nevada, California, Arizona, and New Mexico. In Australia we will be in Melbourne and Sydney, and most likely any places in between.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspIf you're interested and you live in one of these areas, or relatively nearby, then please reply to this post or send Pilot or Abe Babe a private message and we'll see if we can work something out! We look forward to hearing from you all. Thank you!

Just adding to what Justin had to say ... the Australian part will also cover South Australia and then travelling up to the Outback town of Broken Hill and down to Sydney. Or maybe vice versa.

We hope to meet as many Oddworld fans as we can on our tour ... so as Justin said, just let us know and we will see what we can arrange!

Abe Babe...

I have a stupid question
when is the european tour ?

Sydney 03-15-2002 08:12 PM

It's time I told the truth. I'm actually a single human head in a jar of cosmic fluid. My psychic-talking-typing dog transfers my thoughts onto Oddworld Forums, which allows for me to communicate with you. Just so you aren't shocked should I be present at a gathering.

Sl'askia 03-15-2002 09:22 PM

Bummer...I live too far north (North Datoka). You should have done this about a month ago...then I would have been in Nevada (in Las Vegas...that's where I went for vacation):D:D

SeaRex 03-15-2002 09:49 PM

Let me know when you show up in Arizona. It's where I'll be on Holiday! :D

Danny 03-15-2002 10:15 PM

*grumbles something about "Bloody Merkins and Aussies... getting all the attention... We'll show them..."*

Steve 03-15-2002 10:52 PM

whenever I see that I think "merkin of the pearl trident" anyone who plays/played magic should know why.

anyway, I also live too far up north and next time I go down there will be a year from now.

ODDBODD 03-16-2002 11:18 AM

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspA European tour? Now... that is a good idea! It might be another year or more before we can do so, but I know that I, personally, would love to meet all of my European friends!

Surfacing: Yes, I'm sure we could work that out! We will talk nearer to when the time comes.

Sydney: I'll keep that in mind.;)

SeaRex: Yes, if you're going to be on holiday there I'm sure we can meet up. Where exactly are you going to be?

Danny: We are quite bloody indeed. What is it exactly you were going to show us?

Oddbodd: I can make you an honest, high stakes bet that I have met people at least 10 times more annoying than you!! Our offer still stands.

Capri: Great! We'll talk closer to when the time comes, so that we might set a date.

Joe the Intern 03-17-2002 02:56 AM

Damn!

Woe is me... I live in Illinois. Stupid Illinois! I'd meet you if I could, but you wouldn't want to drive that far east, now would you? ;) Besides, I might scare you off with my Mallard Duck of Fear.

Few that's a relief, so if we do meet, would you like me to show you around melbourne, or did you want to do something in Particular ?

Ooooh, these were perspicuously words! When you visit germany, we'll meet us up in Leipzig (I don't live there, but it's no problem to go there with TheBlueScrab because my father lives in that wonderful city :D. It's also closely to Solingen where freakyLA lives)

angry slig 03-17-2002 01:51 PM

SON OF A ...!

Ahh man, i live in Great kills, Staten island, New york USA. Well Well if your road trip goes horribly wrong and you are stranded with food and drink and one of you has gone crazy and is trying to eat the other person you can always stop by.

Disgruntled Intern 03-17-2002 02:59 PM

I will be in Phoenix on May 22 and 28, Flagstaff around May 22-25, and a Hopi Reservation from May 26-28.

MudokonOddball 03-18-2002 08:44 AM

Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun for you guys. I hope you all have fun and TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES! I'm with Joe the Intern in that I live in Ohio. I don't know if I could go anywhere in June anyways because some big things are happenning; 1. My birthday (count down to temps: 8 months, 25 days, 11 hours, 19 minutes....) and 2. My sister's wedding. I get to be the best man! I get a tux! Whee!!! Anyways, I do really hope you all have a good time. And DO try to come just for a LITTLE while to the North-East!! :( :fuzmad:

Shrykullmaster 03-18-2002 04:58 PM

u shudd ride around in a big bus that says ODDWORLD FORUMS TOUR anyway, i wuddnt be able to see u

Oddness 03-19-2002 02:45 AM

Wow, that sounds great!! :) I live in Sydney, so just tell me when you've finalised the date... :)

paramiteabe 03-19-2002 07:03 PM

I am too with Mudokin Oddball. I too live in Ohio up near Cleveland. Say I wish you could visit us here in the Great Lakes. Like first visit the western part like you said then come over into the north Eastern part Like Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Pennselvania, Michigan and maybe even Canada and do a tour here as well. That would be great. That would be cool. But I doubt that will ever happen. Oh well!:fuzsad:

Joe the Intern 03-19-2002 07:55 PM

Sites to see, people to stalk.

Hey, I don't suppose you could drive waaaaaay over here, couldja? There are a bunch of great sites to see! Like... Ummm... Well... (Help me out here, guys!) Aww crap... I just won't get to meet ya. :( Why did I have to be born in the Midwest? Why?!?

Pilot 03-21-2002 02:18 AM

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspOkay, let me see here...

Those of you who live further east: Dragadon, Joe the Intern, Mudokon Oddball, Paramiteabe: Abe Babe and I are at the moment debating as to whether we should come further East.. we think we might be able to do it. We've got approximately 3 1/2 weeks in the US before flying to Australia, and we just need to see if we can drive across the country and back in that time.
Everyone else who lives out of the way: we might be able to work you into our trip, so speak up!

Alector: We'd love to do that! But like I said, it might be a little while before we can make the journey to Europe... and the UK if anybody there is interested.

Disgruntled Intern: Of course we'd like to meet up with you. Let's get together on that and see what we can work out.

Oddness: There sure are a lot of people in and around Sydney! Yes, we'll let you know when we're going to be in the area.

Everybody: I want to ask everyone who wants to meet up what they would like to do? I'm sure that you'd all like a nice friendly conversation, but beyond that, is there anything in particular that any of you had in mind?

I also wanted to tell everybody that we will be putting together a photo album of our trip. Prepare to be photographed!

Disgruntled Intern 03-21-2002 04:26 PM

Well pilot, there isn't really much to do in my home town...although I'm only an hour or so out of fresno, which has some pretty fun things...i guess anyway.
Why not tell me of some things you guys would like to do or see?...ah.....me so confused.

Fazerina 03-21-2002 06:28 PM

Ah... That sounds so cool! I would also like to see you guys, but that isn't very likely to happen...:(

But hey! I wanna see the pics then. :D

SeaRex 03-22-2002 07:25 PM

Well, I can only meet in Flagstaff or Phoenix on the dates listed above in an earlier post. So, when exactly are you going to be in America?

Cloverfield 03-22-2002 10:18 PM

Currently I am looking to arrive in America on the 18th June. Justin has to graduade school before the trip is able to begin. Unfortunately it looks like we might miss you.

Abe Babe...

paramiteabe 03-24-2002 09:38 PM

Hey heres a cool idea. If for say you do come east not saying you are, we could all go to Cedar Point for the day. It is the largest Amusement park in the world. and I live at least an hour and a half from it. It's in Sandusky Ohio right on the shores of Lake Erie. There are actually hotels in the park itself. And those of you who have never been there would definatly get a treat. 15 of the worlds largest coasters and of coarse the Millenieum Force. Or we could go to Paramounts Kings Island or Six Flags. But Cedar Point is the # 1 park. We could also go to the Rock n Roll Hall a Fame in Cleveland. Or go to Put n Bay. That is an Island in Lake Erie. it is so cool. There is strip on the island everybody rents and drives a Golf cart or a Moped on the Island. Last year I went with a bunch of my buddys there and we stayed there for the weekond. We rented these kick a** golf carts that had to have gone almost 50 mph. It was so fun! So theres an idea on what you could do here if you come out here. There are other things too.:D I know my way around and I can show some pretty cool places here.
