But when I found out some more about evolution, and how it's not a theory of mere chance, I thought 'Yes! This maks so much more sense! I love it!' and I've never looked back. 11. No, because: -I like the taste of meat -It comes in so many different varieties, and there are so many things you can do with it -It's got lots of lovely protein -I don't believe vegetarian propaganda (especially the sort that makes out all meat eaters to be evil and all veggies to be angels) -While vegetarianism is harmless enough in itself, it does have a tendency to make the people who practise it believe that they're better than their omnivorous contemporaries -I didn't evolve my canine teeth for no reason 12. When I try to socialise, I'm normally told to go away because my views and personality differ so much from my peers, so now I make no effort to join in as I'll just be thrown out anyway. I've learned to enjoy being alone, and I prefer it to being with others. I also refer the company of adults to people my own age, because I can talk about more sophisticated things than what my schoolmates talk about. 15. What is one word that describes you best? But when it becomes legal, I would take it in pill form as a medical herb, and maybe even grow the stuff. (I awnswered this question wrongly before. I am neither for or against any religion, as they may be right, or they may be wrong. I don't know, and I don't have proof of thier belifes(sp). However, I kind of belive the Scientists with evolotion and stuff, because they've prooved it. 10. Do you believe in evolution, if not why not? - As I explained in the previous question, I belive in evolotion. 11. Are you a vegetarian, if not why not? - Yes I am. The reason I am vegitarian is because meat is not neccesary in my diet (I've been a vegetarian for 15 years, and I'm very healthy, thankyou very much) and the process of producing meat in slaughter houses and on most farms is very appaling. I strongly belive that if people want to eat meat, that they should go out there and kill the animal themselves, not mass produce it on a farm using chemicals and stuff to enchance it, then slaughter it horribly and inhumainly in a slaughter house. Infact, I think the reason that meat gives people desieses(sp) is because of the appaling conditions of farms and slaughter houses. Though I'd rather they didn't, I don't really have that much of a problem with people who eat meat. All I can do is tell everyone the horrors of meat production and whats wrong with it, but not force them to be vegitarian. If they want to eat an animal who has sufferd unimagineable discomfort so it could be on thier dinner plate, so be it. 12. What is your sexual orientation? - I guess I'm a little bi sexaul, but so is everyone, though actually I'm more on the straight side of things. Very few people are 100% straight, or 100% homo. Unlike a lot of drugs [especially tobacco], Cannabis is not addictive, and so one can be an occasional smoker, like me. I would probably smoke more often, if I could afford it, but I have no regular source of income, so I only smoke occasionally [generally other people's... :D] 6. I believe that it is wrong to kill other animals unless it is necessary [e.g. when they're trying to kill people]. Animals are sentient beings with their own will, and it is wrong to force our will onto them just because we can. 2. Meat Production is notoriously unhygenic. Meat is often unclean and disease-ridden. 3. Meat has been linked to several diseases, including several forms of Cancer, as well as exacerbating Heart Disease, Obesity, Impotence, Diabetes, etc. 4. Meat production is far less efficient than crop growing - Growign corn and eating it provides much more food than growing corn, feeding it to cows, then eating the cows. For a start, the cows move, losing energy. They lay energy down as bones, fat, and other parts that we don't eat. In a world where people are starving, it seems like fundamentally wrong to waste food in this manner [by feeding it to animals being fattened for the slaughter]. 5. The raising of animals for slaughter is environmentally disasterous. All the waste from animal farming gets washed into our water supply, poisoning our drinking water and fouling our lakes, rivers, and oceans. However, I do not judge people who choose to eat meat. People make their own choices for their own reasons, and it is not my place to judge them. 12. What is your sexual orientation? Bisexual. I am surprised that only one other person has answered as anything other than heterosexual so far... 13. Would you describe your political persuasion as left or right? Left. Rabidly. I am extremely worried that, out of the 13 people who have answered so far, only two have actually said Left-Wing. I'm taking a break from the crowds of relatives here for Christmas lunch, I might as well answer the questionnaire I posted yesterday. :)
1. How old are you? 17. 2. What is your sex? Male. 3. Do you drink coffee/tea? I drink coffee a lot, but I don't like tea. 4. Do you smoke cigarettes? Yes. It's a filthy habbit, I know - spare me the lectures. I've heard them all before. 5. Do you smoke marijuana, if so how often? I too, am surprised at how few people have nodded at this question. I'd never intended to become a pot-smoker, but when your friends are doing it all the time, it seems inevitable that you'll eventually try it and become a semi-regular user. I guess people are so afraid of it because it's a stigmatised drug, often criticised by the media who hype it up. But I've found it to be quite harmless besides the increased risk of lung cancer. The fun to be had while high outweighs the means. 6. Do you drink alcohol, if so how often? I only drink socially, which is maybe a couple of beers each week (if the pub doesn't check for age ID :D) - that's a problem being one of the youngest of the group - I am not a legal adult yet. Get a phone call, meet everyone on the grass outside the Plaza.
