a new clue has been found by Vanilla ✜ in 1029.io's source code between HTML comment tags:

OWI_Alex has posted some cryptic comments in the Official Oddworld Discord channel after being asked about this new piece of text:

and no one seems to remember seeing it before?

So the current question is this: Anything else changed?
Maybe there are new stuff that needs to be found. What do you guys think?

I'm currently having a dig around recently found pages and looking through the code, nothing so far, will post if more is found.

If you refresh 1029.io, there are parts of the logo highlighted in green. In the highlighted parts there are letters replacing the usual @-s. The first letter was also found by Vanilla.

These letters spell one familiar word:
M A G O G

I'm in for the happening (Mostly on discord)

I think that, accordingly to the way it was written, it is a slig trying to send a message just like the 1029 did before.

The way that the comment was made in the 1029 site,

reminds me of another quote when the asset 98 was killed.
" !-- see ya around, 1029... -- "
The page which I'm talking about is the 1029.io/repository/asset98/1173418569/

I think that this anonymous hacker could be a slig attempting to harass the 1029 by leaving the magog message.
Was there any other page with the same type of comment?

Just checked and nothing so far, but I noticed that the sites http://1029.io/ed and http://1029.io/8291/ are actually down. I'm not sure if this is revelant or not.

Quickly checked the wiki for any references to them. Ed's page is mentioned once (and it linked to his twitter), but the 8291 have so many multiple instances that has captured my attention.

Any info on these numbers?

8291...with the emoji's names in OWI discord server it spells "etno". It doesn't tell me anything at all, it only reminds of the volcano Etna and etnic stuff. In poor words nothing revelant, but it's strange to see this number different times.

Something tells me that we'll be seeing it many more times

Indeed, also there is another thing. If you refresh the pages enough, some words become highlighted.

"HIDDEN", "LOST", "ERASED"

So quite possibly we need to look for something that's gone.

Could it be the dead asset? He was hidden from them, then lost and by our mistake he was erased...

Nope, those words have been randomly highlighted ever since we discovered the site in June 2016.

Asset98 died the 7th of February 2017.

Eh, honestly this whole MAGOG thing could be an amazing advancement in the ARG, if it actually progressed beyond that. People lose hype quickly if "nothing" happens. And this one tweet isn't exactly exciting.

OWI Alex posted this on the OW discord as an emoji, before suddenly removing it, saying 'sorry, that was weird'. I think we're close to seeing some real shit from the Cartel.

The accounts of Alex, Pete and Bernice all started acting weird, posting gibberish only to have their posts removed seconds later.

Suspiciously the message is unfinished. It lacks the #wewillrise hashtag and also "silent" doesn't have it's 't' and the dot after.

Looks like it's still happening.

The hacker seems to be confused with some of our words asking things like "WHAT IS OFFLINE" through Pete's account.

It's meaning is currently unknown.

I asked: "Magog Cartel corporation? company? collective?"
He replied: "one of those is really close"

So we need to find a word that's very similar to these, but a bit different.
