The ?? in the first set of numbers is 15, if we are meant to find it's value.

Yeah, that's absolutely right, it's each time the right number minus the left number.



For the sake of clarity can you share the logic?

The number sequence is determined by taking the sums of the squares of the digits of the previous terms, hence the ?? after 145_ is 20 :)

Edit: The full sequence is 2, 4, 16, 37, 58, 89, 145, 42, 20, 4, 16, 37, 58, 89, 145, 42, 20, 4 and loops indefinitely.

I believe the formula is known as A000216.

You mean you have to sum the squares of each digit to get the next number (not the square root) :p

Wow, I don't think I'd ever have got anything like that. Looks like they're really stepping up the game this time round. Bet they're still gobsmacked that you guys got that so quickly haha. The question is what do we do with those solved numbers? I haven't listened to the audio or looked at the picture attached. Does it shed any light on any of those? Can't wait to get home.

In the first sequence of numbers, the last line is wrong: 21-13=8 not 7. Strange. :fuzconf:

I'm analyzing the audio rn. I can hear a mudokon-like voice, maybe more than one I can't tell, screaming something. All the words I figured out are "Hello?!" and "somebody?!...". I'll try to figure out more.
If I can I'll isolate the voice(s) and upload it here for you all.

looks like all the horizontal black boxes should be flipped horizontally and have their colour inverted.

Did some shifting around with that altered image, found 2 symbols:

EDIT: Just seen at the bottom of the previous post about flipping the black boxes. If it helps, I didn't flip the black box for what I uncovered, just moved it. Might help with the other black boxes.
