Smokes and other drugs.

MOD EDIT: This was split off from WDYLL. The quoted post will take you to where it was split off from.

Ench my man!

just out of interest, what brand do you buy? i smoke John Player Special. roll-ups, because it's cheaper.

If I ever buy normal fags then I go for silk cuts, when I roll my own I think I buy gold leaf, usually I just ask the attendant for the cheapest shit they have. Oh and sometimes my guys will bring me Hungarian or Ukranian brand cigarettes that I don't know the names of. To be honest I feel bad, my missus lost her Dad to type IV lung cancer a few years ago and when I smoke cigarettes it really gets to her, she's a very anxious person and really I should probably not smoke because of that.

That being said, I just invested in a new bong so...hey ho.

Nepsotic 01-29-2016 06:59 AM

Who gives a shit, smoke if you want. All it'll do is possibly cut your life short, but who wants to live till their 80 anyway?
I smoke Amber Leaf and I prefer rollups because they're stronger, cheaper, look cooler and don't have any tar in them.

Varrok 01-29-2016 07:06 AM

I want to live to my 80 and even longer

I'm not a heartless twat though.

Manco 01-29-2016 09:23 AM

But you might be a lungless twat!

Vexen 01-29-2016 10:45 AM

Enjoy your chemo therapy.

Crashpunk 01-29-2016 11:12 AM

Smoking is pretty horrible. Drinking too, (hence why I'm teetotal). But I'll never try and stop someone from doing it, apart from if it's literally killing them.

Do what you want, but just don't over do it. Be smart. I'm sure people who smoke on here also have that mentality.

STM 01-29-2016 12:00 PM

Come stop me bby

Nepsotic 01-29-2016 04:17 PM

Not wanting to live till you can't do anything for yourself, and are constantly shitting yourself and forgetting who your family are is heartless?

And yeah, anyone should be allowed to put whatever they want into their bodies. It's all about responsibility.

enchilado 01-29-2016 05:01 PM

Oh trust me, I put whatever I want into my body.

MA 01-29-2016 05:04 PM

i don't think i'll make it to retirement age, i'm already a borderline chain-smoker.

and freedom. i'm all for freedom, both the good and the bad.

Mate, did you read all my post? I've nothing against smoking but the fact my partner's dad died from it, and the fact that the anniversary of his passing is coming up, makes it a bit insensitive to smoke around her. Given other circumstances I might smoke more...especially given the stress of work.

Do we need a smoking thread?

Phylum 01-30-2016 03:50 AM

This forum is already fucking billowing with smoke, every time I post at least.

Pity it keeps going up Nate's arse though.

Well apparently we did, according to you.

Apparently yes.

If only. That sounds like fun.

I don't smoke cigarettes. My grandfather died from lung cancer before I was born and I grew up under a strong taboo. As an adult, I've avoided even trying them because I'm highly susceptible to addiction to stimulants (way hey coffee!), so I don't want to risk it.

That said, several bad influences here in Seattle have led to me purchasing a PAX2 vaporiser and some nicely legal weed.

OddjobAbe 01-31-2016 01:30 AM

I tried cigarettes and wasn't a fan. I smoke the occasional Cuban cigar if it's an occasion (Partagas and Cohiba are my favourites), but they're not cheap so I can't indulge so often. They're an occasional luxury, like good whisky.
Also not averse to a blunt or two

STM 01-31-2016 06:32 AM

I broke in my new bong last night, it's a cheap piece of plastic and the water seal isn't even water-tight so I get a little leakage...but holy shit. It's incredibly tall and the shotgun is small and surrounded by rubber so that even after you're done, the smoke remains in the chimney. I manage to get a lung-full of smoke out of it about 10 minutes after I lit up.

I'm definitely not big on smoking/ getting high, and I can't stand weed-culture, but with that being said I feel relaxed and calm this morning and my missus--who has clinical anxiety and depression--also reports feeling much more chill. :)

Alf Shall Rise 02-03-2016 09:21 AM

I sat with this kid one day during lunch in high school and heard about how he drank bong water once.

FrustratedAssassin 02-03-2016 12:24 PM

Drugs are bad for you

OANST 02-03-2016 12:25 PM

Life is bad for you. Drugs make it more interesting.

Varrok 02-03-2016 01:41 PM

She means drugs are bad for him. They're okay for everybody else.

Alf Shall Rise 02-03-2016 02:55 PM

You guys just want all of the drugs for yourselves. Greedy motherfuckers.

Nepsotic 02-03-2016 02:57 PM

Can I have some drugs?

Vexen 02-03-2016 05:09 PM

I heard bleach has one hell of a high, all you have to do is drink it.

MA 02-03-2016 07:32 PM

anyone ever heard of Krokodil? that truly is an evil drug. i'm not even joking. look it up.

Alf Shall Rise 02-03-2016 07:39 PM

I looked it up on Google Images and now I understand why it's called Krokodil.

MA 02-03-2016 07:56 PM

right? it's horrific and the stories i've heard about the users are just as bad.

one woman who was addicted to Krokodil started seeing a demon in the mirror watching everything she did so she began to write backwards so the demon couldn't understand, and she did this almost immediately. when she was on her own she'd be visited by people that only she could see, and this was while she was sober. because she had damaged her mental health she was constantly in 'a different place', and it wasn't a good place. it was all in her head obviously but it must have been fucking terrifying. on top of all that her flesh and bones were rotting due to the drug.

here are some of the physical effects:

:

The large volume of tissue damage/infection is what gained the drug its nickname of the flesh-eating drug, as homemade versions made by suppliers and users contain multiple impurities and toxic substances that lead to such tissue damage/infection (the pure form of the drug itself would not cause this damage).[15] Gangrene, phlebitis, thrombosis (blood clots), pneumonia, meningitis, septicaemia (blood infection), osteomyelitis (bone infection), liver & kidney damage, brain damage and HIV/AIDS are also common amongst users of krokodil.[12] Sometimes, the user will miss the vein when injecting the desomorphine, creating abscess and causing death of the flesh surrounding the entry-point

from here.

Alf Shall Rise 02-03-2016 08:19 PM

Shit like this makes me think about what kind of place you'd need to be in, mentally speaking, to have the desire to abuse a drug like this. It's both sad and scary and I probably can't even begin to comprehend it.

STM 02-03-2016 09:04 PM

Krokodil is seriously fucked, bath salts are another one, I agree that if someone wants to do those kinda drugs they must be in a horrible place.

The drug itself isn't particularly bad (for an opioid anyway), it's just the stuff sold on the streets of Siberia has a lot of toxic impurities.

Phylum 02-04-2016 03:08 AM

My body is a temple.

I'd probably smoke pot if I wasn't a woodwind player. Shit's bag for the lungs.

Varrok 02-04-2016 03:39 AM

I somewhat envy wind instrument players. It must be hell of an excercise for a diaphragm

Phylum 02-04-2016 04:10 AM

I honestly can't say if it does anything to strengthen the diaphragm - the flute wouldn't do much though - but it's an exercise in control for sure.

Varrok 02-04-2016 04:20 AM

I wish I had a tuba for practice.

Neighbours would hate me. I mean, if only I managed to make a sound from it.

true, but i was referring to the toxic homemade variant of Desomorphine, Krokodil. Krokodil is particularly bad. i'd say it's one of the worst drugs on the planet.
