TOGG stands for "The Oddworld Graphics Gallery". It's a compilation of every piece of concept art, graphic, model, trailer, misc that's come out of OWI that we've found in some way or another.

The fact that that's up in TOGG means that a majority of us are already aware of the concept art's existence.

You can also assume that Squeek and his design has been discussed at some time or another considering how long this forum's been around.

Despite all of the above, I hadn't actually seen the concept art yet, and yep that looks exactly like I was imagining when I read that interview.

when i first saw that artwork i thought it was an enemy in fangus klot. but after i read that interview i realized that i was possibly looking at squeek.

I have never seen the picture before. That Squeak interview is recent. I have never seen any pictures backing up discussion around Squeak.

I then followed it up by saying I hadn't seen the concept art. I'm glad he posted it, because I would have missed it otherwise.

I didn't get that feeling at all. It seemed more like SB was explaining what a previous poster meant and commenting on the new concept art.

Looks in line with the concept I've read about in interviews! Big hopes for Squeek! Hopefully all the protagonists will be guided by Abe on their way to Gnarlybebb. I'll miss Abe otherwise. I could also do with a well made, 3D Munch's Exoddus if they ever decide to explore Munch's journey to repopulate the Gabbits!

To be honest this looks like an even worse and even more annoying protagonist than Munch.

I think JBot was merely pointing out that Bigfoot might have been overcrediting himself by saying he "found" the concept art, considering it was already archived by Xavier.

As for the art, I think it's pretty cool. Before this I was basically imagining a robot hobo, with a bindle and rotting hat.

No offense to Xavier though, TOGG is a great resource, but it's not an archive that is widely known. So unless BigFoot got it from there I could see why he'd be excited thinking he stumbled upon something.

Well yeah, I guess I am. It's pushing the 'little guy fighting the system' concept too far for my tastes. I never cared for Munch and his wheelchair much and this is even worse.

I'm actually not a big fan of introducing 5 different protagonists all together. I'd much rather see pure continuations of Abe's story, with Abe remaining the lead character. But that's a different matter.

Controlling 5 different characters by the end of the series always sounded a little overboard to me, but honestly the only reason I'm okay with it is the addition of new creatures.

I'm not sure if it still holds true but I'm really bummed out none of the pre existing creatures will ever have a protagonist if they didn't already. You would think with the fucked up backstory of the sligs there would be some kind of revolution there, too, (something that far exceeds the concept of Sligstorm) or at least one type of "industrialized" species taking the protagonists' side.

A theory that I’ve always thought sounded neat was the idea that Molluck would end up being one of the five protagonists after his trial.

That would be a fantastic turn of events if not for the great irony of it.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that before, and that it's just some misc concept art which isn't from any Oddworld game, but I could be wrong.

I'm awaiting Wil's reaction to this post.

I can pretty much guarantee that this is not Squeek. The concept came from Silvio's personal sit. Oddworld inhabitants have to allow which art can be shown to the public and which can't. It would make no sense whatsoever to release art for Squeek this way.

Furthermore Lorne already stated that should we see art of an unannounced quintology hero he would change it.

So, no, this ain't Squeek. Sorry guys.

Curses foiled again

I love the idea of Molluck as one of the protagonists, but I assumed from one of Lorne's interviews, Lady Margaret forces him to go face the investors in her stead because it's his fault. The last we see of him, in this instance, would be Molluck riding the elevator into the depth of Nolybab. What happens to him thereafter, we dare not find out.

I'd still root for him as a protagonist. Perhaps the Glukkon economy crashes to an irrevocable point, forcing their entire society into exile. Thus, they must join the fight against the industrialists. Perhaps not Molluck, but I could definitely see a Glukkon there.

It should totally be Lulu since everyone loves him so much.

To be fair I recall seeing Lorne mention Molluck's future fate in interviews quite a lot, so I'm guessing it's something that will have further bearing on the quintology's course. Didn't one of the glukkons in AE mention Molluck at one point as well?

It would certainly allow for some interesting story moments – I could see Molluck’s quest being to rediscover ancient Glukkon culture and find out where they went wrong or something.


Yes – when Aslik, Dripik and Phleg are discussing the destruction of Necrum mines, Dripik states “if [Molluck] ever comes back we’re screwed”. It’s never outright stated, but Molluck also owned SoulStorm Brewery up until Abe shut down RuptureFarms.
