I used to have a rooted Ace until one night it suspiciously broke and now I have this shitty BlackBerry Curve. Ya'll jealous of my curve.

I have a dirt cheap Vodafone ... Phone which I got about 5 years ago. It calls, txts and has a stupidly long battery life. All I need.

I rarely ever use my mobile. It's for events and emergencies only.

As for past phones, I used to have a Sony Ericsson which was utter crap and a Nokia 3310. Yup I had that legendary phone for about 4 years. It was perfect for me.

Oh battery life, wish I had that, the phone I have now can barely last 12 hours, for me though, a phone is necessary for my job, but I use it for keeping in contact with friends and using the internet away from home, that's about it.

Smart phones have so much happening in the background draining the battery. That's why I like simple phones. Mine can literally last about 1-2 weeks, maybe longer.

I'm using a Blackberry Curve 9320 at the the waning months of at 24-month contract.

I only know this due to the fact within the last 22 months of having it, it's been broken thrice, and broken but not broken enough for the insurance I pay on it to bother to do anything once. It'll be a bittersweet moment when I finally see it gone.

Nah, I'm not funny. I was given a Sony Ericsson T700 by a friend. Yes, in those colours. It was released just before smartphones became a widespread thing, but it's an improvement over the ancient Nokia brick I used to have. At least I can read basic web sites that I've saved to it when I'm bored. Battery lasts forever, too.

I have an Orange Rome. Whatever the fuck that means.

I have something made my Motorola. It makes calls and let's me access the internet. I think it's got 512MB RAM, but that's all I know.

I use an HTC One XL with a screen that's cracked because I didn't manage to get it seated properly when I replaced the former, smashed screen. It's alright.

I'd quite like to get a Moto X next, mainly because I'm a dirty hipster and like the look of the wood backing.

A Samsung Galaxy... something. An Android. Pretty reliable one, too. I worked on a construction site all last summer and brought it with me every day, had it fall onto rock hard ground from my hard hat (used the external speakers to listen to music all day, heh) and even in a foot deep puddle and still works just as well as the day I got it. It's a bit worn on the sides, but not even remotely cracked or damaged

Love it. Androids are the way to go.

Yeah, Galaxy's are really well built, I dropped mine loads and not a single crack. That's why I'm weary of getting an iPhone, it's just annoying because they look so cool.

I sort of have a mobile phone, but I've used it about three times. I don't know where I left it, but I think I still have it lying around somewhere.

I have a Samsung Tocco Lite, but really I use it mostly just for the alarm. It was mainly a total piece of shit because Orange suck and load their own firmware onto it, but with some weird chinese tool things you can load other ones on there.

Still use it as an alarm though.

i would say Snake but, let's be honest, it was fucking shit then and it's fucking shit now.

Tetris, on the other hand. it was okay then, but it's pretty shit now.

Some people thought snake was so good it was worth making the exact same game with controls where they put a nokia 3310 keypad on the screen.

On Sunday I dropped my phone one time too many. Now the entire screen is discoloured and the right side refreshes really slowly. I've never seen anything like it!

I'm only a few months short of the end of my contract (plus, I don't know if I'll be here or overseas in the near future), so I don't want to buy a new phone. I've asked around to see if anyone has a non-shite old phone I can buy off them. Otherwise my only recourse is to replace the screen again. It's slightly more money than I want to pay, but it's still damned cheaper than buying a new phone.

Verizon actually paid me money to turn in my old 4, and get the 5C.

Awesome phone. The Android alternative for the iPhone (in terms of design).

It's because more people are going to be buying the older version, due to to not as many people can afford the new stuff, but still want as top of the line as possible. So they really want your old phone, as it'll sell easier.

I don't think they really resell those phones. They didn't even bother to look at what state it's in. The lady told me that they throw them in a box in the back, and she has no idea what happens to them from there.

I doubt that a lot of people are buying the older models. They are probably repurposing the parts.

When I attempted upgrading 2ish years ago I was told the older model phones are donated to victims of abuse that have been relocated and can't afford a phone for emergencies and what not.

That seems like a good use for the phones but I have a seriously hard time believing they actually go to this purpose, and considering the condition my phone's in I highly doubt it would end up anywhere but a landfill.
