New 'N Tasty Price?
So I'd like to make sure I have enough money to get this game on launch day, Whenever that day is sometime this spring. I've looked, even on the official page, I can't find a release price. I was wondering if anyone knew how much it'd cost, or could at least ballpark it so I have a basic goal, as money is very difficult for me to come by.

No announcements have been made yet. We don't even have a firm release date. I'm sure JAW will put out that information well in advance of the game going on sale, so you needn't worry. |
Alright, thanks for telling me. Also, thanks for moving this; sometimes I have trouble figuring out where to post what.
My guess will be around £6.99. The standard prices for Indie titles.
I cannot imagine it being any more than £20. |
My guess would be between £12-£20, since The Swapper and Spelunky are each priced at £12 when not on sale. And on the higher end of the scale, Prison Architect, Kerbal Space Program and Spacebase DF-9 are normally priced at £20.
I'd say that's a reasonable price for those games (With the possible exception of Spacebase, it ought to be cheaper) - Although IMO if they priced N'n'T at £20, that'd probably be a hard sell to most people since it's a linear single player experience rather than a flexible, slowly evolving one like most of the above games offer. (although I'd pay a AAA price for N'n'T on release, even though I normally wait for new games to be on sale - but then I'm a big OW fan and this game means a lot to me personally) |
I wouldn't honestly pay more than £20 for it. I seem to remember AO being something along the lines of either £19.99 or £29.99 when it was new, and if it's the former, it'd be weird to pay the same price after all that gas about how they make as much money through indie sales at like, $10 than they did with a publisher at $40. Any other platformer and I wouldn't even pay £20, but NnT is a special case I suppose.
I can't see it being more than £20 to be honest. I would pay £40 if I had to though :p
I intend to pay with rubber bands, and marbles.
Guessing about 10 bucks on the XBLA, considering the prices of games like Super Meat Boy, Braid, Limbo, etc.

It was. Also, the games were cheaper in general back then.

I’d put it in the upper price bracket of indie games, like the games DarkHoodness mentioned.
Low-priced games like Super Meat Boy tend to be priced that way because they’re relatively short and simple, and thus needed less development invested in them. But JAW has become a fairly large team now, and the game itself looks to have high production values for an indie title. |
I'm pretty pissed it's not going to be on Xbox, I doubt my PC will be able to handle it.
I'll just get it when it's in one of the sales. |
dammit, i fucking hate Xbox. i'll grab it for the PC anyhow.
It'll likely be £12 or so, probably with a launch discount for PS+ subscribers over on the PlayStation side of the field. I hope the PS Vita/PS3 version is Cross-buy enabled, but it wouldn't be the end of the world. I mean, I'll be buying it on both Vita and PC anyway, so I'll be paying twice regardless.
It will definitely not be more than 30€
And I will propably buy it twice. PS3 and PC. :) |
I expected £9.99 but we'll see, I suppose.
I think its going to be $14.95 imo.
It'd be awesome if they had a loyalty discount like they are having for Binding of Issac: rebirth. But i'd rather pay full price for Abe. |

I love that people are stating or guessing the price when they actually have no idea how expensive it's going to be. Because you guys know what they need to charge to make a profit on their investments and so on.
SHUT UP IT'LL BE FITEEN DOLLERS AND FIFTY CENTS I JUST KNOW IT
If it's any less than $500 I will be severely disappointed smh
Once again, JAW disappoints us, this time for selling the game for a low price.
I would totally freak out if it's 19.97 €/$ .
That would be an awesome tribute to the original |
No it wouldn't, it'd be a fucking rip-off, is what it'd be.
NO LESS THAN $500
I want it to be 1997€
$599 US DOLLARS.
And when you finally confront Mullock, you'll have to hit the weak spot for massive damage!
:
Rip-off? Who did that before? I cant remember OWI or another game developer do that. |
Rip-off as in "That's fucking expensive, you're ripping me off my money"
You think 20 dollars is a rip off?
I think $20 is more than it should be. It's not an original game or some AAA title. They aren't even selling hardcopies. $15 sounds like the perfect price to me, and I'll pay $20 if it is $20, I just think it'd get more sales if it were $15. Then again, what do I know about selling stuff?
As much as you can try to think about sales, you also have to think that staff at JAW have wives/children/cats to support. They'll charge what they have to.

Bullshit like the totally bugged DayZ PRE-Alpha gets released and does already cost 30€. And Prison Architect is another example. And Oddworld should not cost more than 15€? Well, they said the price is under 30€, but even 30 would not be too much. I hope JAW/OWI make enough money to hire more people with that money. |
