Guess the Thing
Everyone was on Facebook complaining that we're all a bunch of miserable shits, so I figured a game might help treat, or at least highlight, the issue.
If you've ever played that game where you stuck somebody's name on your forehead and tried to guess who it was (if you were playing with me, it was probably your own name), feel free to skip the next paragraph. Basically, everyone gets given a person or fictional character, then they ask questions to the group that can either be answered "Yes" or "No", though the answers are usually more along the lines of "Sometimes", "You can't really tell", "They never talk about it" or "Er, let me look that up". The advantage of doing this on a forum is that people don't need to wait about for their turn - everyone can ask their question at the same time, and anyone can answer. Anyway, in the interests of brevity, I'll come up with the first few Things for people, before figuring out a way to open it up to the forum at large. They'll be posted in spoiler tags and clearly marked so the target doesn't see them by accident. I'll just twiddle my thumbs for a bit while people volunteer. Oh yeah, since there'll be a lot of back-and-forth, it might be sensible to adopt a colour so it's easier to see where people have quoted you. |

Oh shush Varrok.
Maybe this would be better organized by having someone dole out Things for people over PM, rather than posting it in spoiler tags? Removes the temptation to cheat. |
Since when did Akinator let you try to guess what he was supposed to be?
And why would anyone cheat? I mean, seriously. This is like the least competitive game ever. Besides, The Thing needs to be publically visible so people can answer, just like the post-it on the forehead. |
Oh wait I got mixed up and thought the player knew what they were and others had to guess.

Fun and games? Boo!
|
Tell you what, if you think someone is cheating, say, very loudly, "I THINK [NAME] IS CHEATING".
Because seriously, no-one's keeping scores or anything. All you'd do by cheating is ruin the game for yourself. If you're unconvinced by someone's leap of logic, just ask them to explain their reasoning. |
I would cheat. I'm sorry, I would. I'm just being honest.
|
Don't worry. Honestly, I would cheat too, just for the sake of cheating.
Let's all cheat, it would be fair. |
I just cheated right now. In the interest of fairness, of course.
|
Well, next time someone complains that this place isn't fun any more, don't say I didn't try.
|
You guys are awful at just going along with things
E: speedy fuck |
Slog Bait's thing is Danny Phantom.

^ I agree with Varrok. You're in no video game I've seen.
Remember what I said about colours, guys. If we end up with 8 people playing you'll want to be able to scan the page for your own questions. - Nepsotic's thing is Vinyl Scratch. - Varrok's thing is Isaac (from The Binding of Isaac). - If someone would like to give me a thing, that'd be pretty cool. |
Okay. So... Am I a person?
- Also, MeechMunchie's thing is A bottle of champagne - EDIT: MeechMunchie reported that he saw his thing unpurposely, so it's edited now into something else. |
