The Infamous Comic Sans
 

Comic Sans one of the most arguably hated fonts out there. What do you think about this statement? Is the argument childish? I would like to hear your thoughts about this font. :fuzconf:

I'm amazed at how frequently blacklisted fonts are still used. They're especially popular for signage in small towns like mine, where nobody has any sense of graphic design (and no sense of business either). I've seen thousand dollar signs printed out with Papyrus and Brush Script, but five seconds on Google will tell you that many of these fonts actually deter potential customers because of their overuse.

People should really do some research. I've heard of restaurants going out of business because the color they chose to paint the walls subconsciously subdued appetite.

People dissed the woman who did the Higgs Boson discovery presentation because she used comic sans. People thought it devalued the discovery because comic sans has a child-like look and it's used a lot in schools for the benefit of kids. Weird that the choice of a font can stir up so much shit. Understandable if it was a font like papyrus which isnt as clearly read.

I like Scilian Braille, Romalian Type and Pale Nimbus...

Impact is the font of the Just Add Water logo. :D

I just remembered I did most of my 6th Form coursework in Comic Sans. Must be the reason why I failed it all.

Why would you ever write up schoolwork in Comic Sans? When I was in school, we would get a syllabus listing a maximum of maybe three acceptable fonts we can use, and Comic Sans isn't one of them. :p

It was 6th Form. They weren't strict about Fonts. In fact, nobody ever mentioned what fonts I should or shouldn't use. :p

I didn't write any essays or important documents in Comic Sans though. That really would be stupid. :lol:

I feel like the whole Comic Sans suks thing is played out in the digital future era of Jokerman font.

I see that in shops all over the place. My favourite font is Alte DIN Mittelschrift. It's used on road signs in Germany, but I like it because.it's the Portal 2 logo font.

I remember when I went through a phase of loving Gothic fonts after watching Death Note for the first time.

I bet everyone's forgotten that I used to have an L avatar back when I was stupid.

When chatting with the head of Web Development for an educational website, one of the things that was brought up was not to use Comic Sans. For what it's worth there are thousands of fonts out there, some of which are simple sublime. Be original, use new fonts! :)

Death Note's first season was kind of fun. Second......not so much.

Whenever I or anyone else gets e-mail from a god-bot and/or creationist that espouses their extensive scientific credibilities, threatening hellfire, gunfire and the mob or otherwise being a delightful human being, it is always in comic sans. Always.
