I don't know that scrabs and paramites on the same screen has ever been tested, Nep. I believe you're quoting me on the matter from when it came up in a hypothetical situation ages ago.

I don't think that putting them in the same .lvl has ever been particularly successful.

It would be amazing if someone could figure out how. Just seeing Abe being chased by Scrabs and Paramites would just be awesome.

I placed both paramites and scrabs in the same screen,and nothing happened,abe got chased by the scrab,and then the paramite killed abe when he got cornered.I made a level about that in the finished lvls thread I think.

Lol I'm makin what you have just tell me, a very very long chase by paramite and scrabs in a sort of necrum mine/mudanchee volt/mudomo volt lvl !

I took look into all level files with Cheat Engine (Hex Editor) i found out that f1.lvl, f2.lvl and f4.lvl contains Scrab & Paramite sprites inside level. :D
Also i started make new level and video of it. This little chaos haves also Sligs and Slogs to mess players thoughs while running background:

I have start though would one manual hex edit make Scrabs work at RuptureFarms. I compared all levels that have Scrab sprite file and all bytes look same on each level that contain Scrab. Should try pasting these bytes to RuptureFarms.

Feels that it only crash, but worthy to try if it still would work... :fuzwink:

EDIT: I know there is easier methods for pasting sprites with Paul's tools. :p

They both try to kill you but they don't react to each other, or sligs (in AO at least).

Btw the next editor will make that easier as in the xml you can say which files an object requires, so when you save a path it will ask for a level that contains whatever.ban and push it into the lvl you're saving.

In new Editor when selecting collision item, in it properties is there told type of collision item? Like example: "Wall", "Floor/Ground", "Moving Bomb", "Bat" :)

I'm at least going to collect the possible numbers, as for what they mean then maybe.

If you want to help with giving me the names of what they mean (assuming you know some of them) then feel free :D.

Also if anyone wants to help with collecting which ban files belong to which object that would be cool too. I could provide the new xml files and someone could add them in ;)

It will be quite a big task to figure them all out (you'd need to use the decoder to see what's in each ban to figure out if its needed or not).

This thing was fun to seek out. I guess this list is nearby complete, like 96% ;)
But here is found Collision Item types:

---List of Found Collision Item types---
  • 0 = Floor/Ground
  • 1 = Left Wall
  • 2 = Right Wall
  • 3 = Dont allow Abe stand while in crouch
  • 4 = Background Floor/Ground
  • 5 = Background Left Wall
  • 6 = Background Right Wall
  • 7 = Dont allow Abe stand while in crouch in background (This is guess cause there is no situations of this ingame)
  • 8 = Moving Bomb/Bat

Only thing that makes me think is that walls seems have left and right wall. But as example i use left wall it can work also right wall. I have no idea of these walls why they work like this. :happy:

That's such a hard-coded, awful way to handle walls/floors. It makes me want to curl up in a ball and die just thinking that one of my favourite games uses a system like that.

No wonder the game has so many weird bugs.

Type 9 is still mystery for me. Trying still seek if it appears. :)

EDIT: I made discovery, here it appears in Paramonia. Does it have something to do with Elum?

EDIT: I found it. :) Type 7 collision item is now confirmed as i though what it would be. ^^
