Thought I'd make this, to go with the current Universe thread.

Everything comes to an end. Probably not the universe, but who knows. And with recent ramblings about the apocolypse, be it from storms, zombies, or Mitt Romney, it's gotten me thinking that the world is obviously going to end eventually. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But someday, our world is going to rendered uninhabitable. And when that day comes, I want to be the smug bastard screaming "I was right" whilst being incinerated.

How do you think this will happen? Nazis reborn? Hitlers brain in a giant mech? The possibilities are limitless.

I just imagine that it'll happen when the Sun goes loco. Would be freaky living in a time where the Sun starts causing significant damage to the Earth.

I really hope it's not sometime soon, what with the ozone layer diminishing and all. I haven't read much into the subject, but I've been told numerous times that it's getting pretty bad.

Who knows the most likely way that the world will end? It probably will be a natural phenomena.
I was thinking we would create something that will overthrow humanity or an Alien race enslaving us all. And yes I am thinking of the scenarios from Terminator and Half-Life 2.

But whatever happens, I just hope I'm not around; and if I am, and if it's truly horrific. Suicide it is. :/

I think I've said this before, but I will be just so disappointed if the world ends like a plot in a sci-fi movie.

Yeah everyone would be looking up at the aliens destroying everything and going 'oh seriously, come on!'.

I think we'll either get hit by space debris and enter a new ice age if it doesn't destroy the planet. And otherwise we'll die when the sun explodes. That is, if we haven't killed ourselves long before then.

I don't think getting close to the sun is going to happen naturally. That would require a massive impact to push the entire planet out of orbit. And an impact like that would kill us all anyway.

That's because the idea of humanity destroying itself is so feasible. Face it, we're scumbags.

I don't understand. I thought the saying "Take something like a grain of salt" meant to take it with skeptiscism. Why would you take it with a lot of salt?

The idea is that you need to take more than a single grain of salt's worth of skepticism to balance out Fox New's shitness.

Where I come from it's a "pinch" of salt, anyway.

If humanity does cease to exist, it'll probably just be because of evolution. I imagine that even though evolution for homo sapiens is slowing down, it won't outright stop, in a million years, we might be homo sapiens sapiens sapiens! Though I imagine we'll have mutated into something new long before that date when Iran bombs Israel and America bombs Iran and China bombs America and The Solomon Islands bomb China.

I think we should start a new thread debating the ratios and distribution of metaphorical condiments.

I will consider your suggestion with a side of mint jelly.

I will ponder your proposal with a dash of mustard.
