Bite Sized Renewed
My previous art threads are incredibly old, outdated, and I honestly believe should not be resurrected any time soon. THEREFORE, I am making a new thread specifically for Oddworld related art that I have done recently that is a far better representation of my work. Kind of.
I've been using Tumblr as a gallery of sorts. It's not the worlds most reliable thing, but I feel a lot more comfortable using that than say... Something went seriously wrong with this poor guy's everything. They look pretty good - I like how you've made them have so much detail using few brush strokes. Have some rep.

This isn't actually Oddworld, but it was partially influence by both Oddworld and Parasite Eve, so I felt it appropriate to post in this thread. Once finals are over I'll get back to actually focusing on fanart itself. http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4...r10o1_1280.png I figure if it was actually a creature in Oddworld it would be exceptionally large compared to the current inhabitants, but also incredibly rare because they only breed maybe once a year if even and the young have high mortality rates. Not to mention they're a threat to pretty much anything that lives, so there might be a "shoot on sight" rule in place for them. Maybe they'd live in a tropical climate? |

Reminds me of the Sea Rex concept for MO but then that's a generic-looking creature anyway. Probably why it was canned.

Thanks for the comments again, you guys! Bitey is an excellent name for that thinger and probably what I'll refer to it by if it ever comes up again in this thread.

Nothing to say the slig didn't clock the sloggie immediately afterwards.
Also, even though that's how they "train" them, each slig is still their own individual and their personalities are going to vary. That one might be a bit more respectful and loving of the slogs than some of the other sligs. Yeah, I wanted to do a speed paint of a landscape and the first thing that came to mind was Paramonia. We only got to kind of see a ground level in the temples, the rest of the environment was all up high either in the treetops or above them. I can't remember a point where we were on solid ground in Paramonia except maybe when we needed to get the password after the bee chase before the temple. You can kind of view it as deep in the middle of the forest somewhere on the ground I guess.

I've gotten into music within the last year or so and was really considering it... but the problem is with visual art, it's obvious when something's fanart. With audio, unless I'm sampling or remixing/rearranging an already existing track, it's kind of hard to really classify it as fanmusic... more like something inspired by. |

Alright guys, I'll try to get something music-y done before the end of this month, then.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/60726531/gabbiwogs.png I want to sculpt life sized gabbiwogs because they're so tiny, but I'm not quite sure to make of their general structure based of the only reference I had. The problem I tend to have when looking for reference material involving Oddworld is everything available is so... small. It's hard to make out much of the detail so you just kind of have to take guesses. I want to assume there's a thin flap of skin between the developing leg and either the mid-belly or right where it's hips start to make it more tadpole like because I don't really see how it could propel itself through water otherwise, but it doesn't seem like there is based off the only reference of a gabbiwog I've been able to find. |

The paint Job here is incredible! Painting these kinds of things sure is fun. I like doing that with backgrounds more though. I think the slog and Gabbit are the best ones from this bunch.

Thank you! My ability to paint continues to improve at a rapid pace, so hopefully some day I'll post something really mind blowing. Until then, you guys get to be the first to see a WIP of a paramite I'm sculpting. A paramite that's actually anatomically correct compared to it's official design. :p
