Let's Play Abe's Exoddus
 

I've finally started my LP on Abe's Exoddus. I'm attempting an all 300 Mudokons saved playthorugh to add more of a challenge *Hear me start going insane in bonewerkz.

I'm going to post all the parts here and update the thread when a new part come out. I hope you lot watch and enjoy my playthough. :D

Part 1: Welcome to Oddworld


Two problems, 1. The sound is too low, this is because Hypercam failed to record the sound like a fucking piece of shit it is sometimes. 2. you can see fraps in the corner of the screen in the cutscenes, I was recording them in case Hypercam failed to do so. Later parts will not have these problems I promise.

Why didn't you just untick the show framerate in corner?

I suppose you did that in the second video. :p

I was unsure if Hypercam would record the cutscenes so I had fraps in the background just in case, turns out hypercam does record them and fraps eventually broke anyway. It was recording for too long.

Meh, I dislike Hypercam.

BTW do you have the trial fraps or the full version, I'm sure the limit only happens on trial.

Also, nice playthrough so far! :D

I do have the full Fraps. Its very usful to record other games with.

Part 4 please!

Maybe for people who don't want to watch the whole series, you could do "highlights video" such as amusing deaths or weird glitches? That would be great. (Although I'll be sure to check out some of the episodes too) Forgive me if I laugh a lot if Abe dies, it just brings back memories of all the dumb deaths that I experienced in person!

i watched someone for 58mins do a speed run through the game didnt die once i was shocked.

Yep, the dynamic music was a great thing about AO and AE.
I'm sure everyone has ran over a couple of mudokons in minecars before.
Strange how Sligs can only shoot from background to foreground and vice versa.

That Slig kept stopping right next to a mudokon, it always annoyed me. I attempt to crush the Slig and get the Mudokon as well :( Thank GOD for QuikSave

man, i love your commentary, its hillarious seeing someone get fustrated over something i usually get fustrated over, and being able to laugh at the fact your not in that situation! great vids, keep 'em coming. I heard someone mention something about music?
yeah, the AO and AE music was definitely unique. mainly because it consisted of strange sound effects and clanging metal noises, but it worked so well! i hope they bring back that type of music for Abe HD! a highlight for me was definitely the scrabania soundtrack.

I've lost all my save data which puts my Let's Play on hold yet again. I need to play up to where I was and save all the mudokons I saved before all over again. :compmad:

Sounds bad... :(
But you could use ddcheat and Cheat Engine possibly to restore mudokons, but it would be complicated... http://www.oddworldforums.net/images.../icon1_odd.gif

I'm using the Steam version. Why does everyone think I'm using the Playstation verson!

Here is a save that may help you (provided it works with the steam version - My version of AE is the Infrogames Re-Play Edition from 2000).

Really enjoyed the ending part, made me laugh hard everytime you got killed and I know those parts can be frustrating.

To me those levels were almost a breeze... Until you reach the final one.

i find exoddus easy anyway, and the quicksave feature makes it even easier, as you don't give up as quick because you don't restart so far back if you've quicksaved.

Part 14


Part 15 is almost done.

I'm so sorry for the delays, I've had a lot of things to do recently and LPing isn't a high priority of mine. I've also had a few problems with Hypercam...again. For some reason random parts of the video speeds up time to time which of course makes the audio out of sync.

Now to give reasons why my LP has been so delayed over this week and why it could be delayed in the future.

I had a number of issues with the records. I had to go over them and edit them so many times to get the audio and video to match. I think I've fixed the problems with Hypercam though so recording shouldn't be a problem anymore.

I've been busy with coursework. Work is much more important to me at the moment which It should be. I'm not that well known on YouTube so it isn't the biggest priority.

And over this half-term I have had a cold which has royally fucked up my voice.
