I think the OP might just be trolling but I always have thought there is something a little ironic about sending food and other aid to Africa. By ensuring the continued existence of starving African children into adulthood we are allowing them to procreate and further overpopulate the poverty-ridden continent; condenming more children to starvation.

Indeed - Simply feeding these people won't solve anything, anyone trying to fix that problem has to do a LOT more than that. You're just prolonging the problem rather than getting to the root of it.

But that's not to say people shouldn't have the right to be fed and not suffer - Feeding the starving should be only a temporary fix while people are ordered not to reproduce as much in places where there isn't a lot of food. It's not as simple as that, sure, and doing so introduces problems such as generation gaps and not enough people to look after the old, such is what is happening in China, but that's a small price to pay compared to starving children.

As someone said once, it is funny how many species such as kangaroos and blue-tits don't reproduce in times of famine, yet we're too stupid to do what they do.

Which is why the aid programs don't just feed these people. They work to improve infrastructure, teach them better farming techniques, provide birth control and just generally educated them to live better lives.

Many of the African countries also need a change in the way their society works and a change in leadership to really get themselves out of the muck. It's hard to promote such a positive change however when outside countries and groups meddle in African affairs for their own benefit and profit by providing arms for their conflicts.

Many African countries need to change the way the fact that their fertility rate is six or seven babies per women. Africa is a pretty shit continent that can't support such a population.

On the other hand MoxCo if they didn't try for such a big family they would probably die out. They are an agricultural people that need hands on their farms but also most children die in labour or in the first five years so they have to keep trying to anticipate that their children will die. Can you imagine that Nepsotic? Having to try for sex because you expect your children will die in five years of you knowing them.

This is where education comes in. There are statistics to show that that the strongest correlation between fertility rate and other factors in a society is the level of education given to females.

I think all these other organizations only put a bandaid on the problem. Once they take it off the problem is still there. What I really think needs to be done is change the human rights. Make sure human rights are given to less developed countries too.

But in the end, I never know which charity is honest and which isn't.

Nepsotic doesn't see that these people are not lazy or neglectful; they do provide for their families with crops and trade, but their governments stake claims over whatever comes in, and decides who deserves it more. Pretty much, people who don't need it, like high government officials, who have the coin to buy what they want believe they should take these necessities.

Also, the environment. Droughts are common, rainfall isn't plentiful, and crops fail.

That may sound incredibly harsh but it has been happening to trillions of organisms since the beginning of time.

most African countries are really in "Life Sucks" condition...but some (like Somalia nowadays) don't even have "Life" to put before "Sucks".

I mean 5 Egyptian pounds (almost 1 dollar...Almost) can feed an entire family for a week in Somalia.
