Oddworld Library seeks web developer
Oddworld Library is seeking to fill a web development position with an individual competent in the engineering, implementation and maintenance of integrated web technologies that will power an upcoming relaunch of the Library.
Applicants must be fluent in PHP, MySQL and JavaScript, and must be capable of self-managing a large project designed in coordination with the Library Owners. They should be driven to deliver a platform that allows the Library to establish a team of content editors that will serve the Oddworld fan community. A successful applicant will be tasked with implementing integrated technologies that will include multilingual page support, user account management, a search engine, a wiki editor with version control and lightweight markup, and multimedia galleries. Experience with these is not essential, but is strongly preferred. To apply, please contact Wil Bunce-Edwards (via email, PM, the Library, or any other method you have) describing your prior experience and explaining your interest in assuming the position. We look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely, Wil Bunce-Edwards and Xavier De Coster Oddworld Library Owners |
You could get STM to design a new theme while you're at it.
Ha. I've already got folks to work on the art and design. It's the technical people I'm after now.
You might want to try contacting Paul. I think he said he knew those languages and he seems fairly keen on Oddworld.
He was joking, it's because I was going to make a theme, then didn't. I don't know those languages so I couldn't apply but good luck finding someone!!!
I know he was joking, I know what happened. :p Just thought I'd clarify. And thanks.
I wish I could help ya out. I sadly know nothing about web design :(
Thinks for clarifying that crashpunk. We're still waiting for the rest of the forums to tell us what they can't do.
I am unable to play most instruments.
I can't talk to women.
I am unable to resist infracting any further spam.
I've only just started learning these languages and other web development tools. if you were to have asked in a years time maybe i would've jumped at the chance, so it's too early for me i think.
I just can't quit you
Why is Wikipedia singularly crap at all Oddworld stuff? It's as if Oddworld is the only IP in which its most dedicated and knowledgeable fan base refuses to keep its Wikipedia page accurate and up to date.
Because I've been working on my own Oddworld Encyclopedia since before Wikipedia existed and it can fuck off.

Ohhh buuuurn...
At the risk of sounding like I didn't enjoy your comeback, I have been looking for a webdev for the last four-ish years, because I don't have the time to implement the tech. MediaWiki is just so goddamn oafish. If I never have to use their markup again, I'll still hate it till the end of the universe.
What's the pay and requirements? one of those was a joke
Get OddHunter to do it. He's the new Wil.
Wil being the new Glitch. And Glitch being the new Lorne. |
Woo, upgraded to Lorne! I assume that means that Lorne has been upgraded to a god?
Is Oddhunter's place vacant now?
Java script aye, do you need all three of those or any 1 of?

What the fuck is Oddworld again?
The old duffer's going senile?

I offered Wil my Lua based support but he just scowled at me and stole my milkshake :(
It was a soya milkshake, you wouldn't have liked it. Because you have no taste.

Anyway, can't you just expand on the text that is already there, and provide references as to where you got the content of each page? By the way, I was told in these forums the Meech tribe described in the Mudokon page is possibly fanon. Is that true? I had always assumed you had gotten that particular piece of information from Dear Alf. |
