Pokémon
Everybody loves Pokémon! Anybody played the new games yet?
P.s: I suspect I will be forever shunned for bringing this up, but o well... |
I stopped playing Pokemon when I was like... 9.
|
Same here Havoc. Though I will admit I got caught in the craze of Pokemon cards before growing out of it.
|
I finally got to play the NDS versions of the new pokemon games =)
I really like the RPG pokemon games. Always did. No idea why, cos they are so repetitive. Like barely anything changes. |
Actually no, there is quite a few fans of Pokémon around these parts. And no, I haven't played the new games and it's not due to lack of time or shit like that. It's just I really don't want to get swamped down with all these new Pokémon.
First and second gen for me please, they were my favorite because they had the best Pokémon. EDIT: Damn you three :( |
I agree the first and second were the best overall. I have to admit the third , fourth and fifth did have some pretty cool designs . The new two proabably have one of the best overall gameplay experiences, you kinda get a feeling of nostalgia when your going through them.
|
I wish, they don't play on my Gameboy Pocket :(
|
I have Emerald, Diamond and Fire Red and I definitely like Emerald the most. I don't really know what it is about Hoenn pokémons, but I thought they were the best.
I'm tempted to buy Pokémon Black or White sometime because it looks really good, but in the other hand, I think they've run out of ideas because the two big legendaries' names are, what, Reshiram and Zekram? And the designs of the new pokémon are definitely not as good as the earlier gens. I can understand that and I kinda want Black or White. |

G3 was the most forgettable thing ever. The only reason why I remember anyone from it at all is because the RS chapter of the Pokemon Special manga was so excellent. Related: My favourites list Pre-G5 http://i.imgur.com/H4uN8.png |
I love Pokemon although I think its becoming a bit tedious now. G5 Wasn't a breath of fresh air like they said it was going to be. My favorite games were Gold and Silver (G2) and I was all over HGSS
After the G3 Remake (Its going to happen) I'm going to stop. |
I enjoy the first three generations, but didn't care for Generation four at all. Generation two was probably my favourite, with three and one following close behind.
I played a little bit of Black at my cousin's the other day. I might consider picking it up; the battle system has been majorly improved since Diamond/Pearl. |

G5 was awesome, in fact I'm playing it right now and importing all my near decade old Pokemon. yay
|
G5 is in my opinion the worst, but I always hated most anything that wasn't first gen (key word MOST).
Examples: One of the pokemon is a fucking candle. It evolves into an oil lamp, which evolves into a chandelier. Another one is a bag of trash. Which evolves into a bigger bag of trash. |

I wasn't expecting to like these games, honestly. I lost interest years ago, but I've been unable to avoid the hype, so went out and got both games like a good consumer whore. I'm still undecided if I should play both simultaneously or beat one and then go for the other, but did start White and picked the piggy. |

I also hated how every poke-tard had to have like 16 Arceus. I still pwn them all with my mewtwo and my scyther. I guess what bothers me the most about every new generation is how much more poweful the ledgendaries get. I mean, seriously, the last one was a fucking GOD. How...when will this end? They can't get more powerful than that. I also hate when they redo a pokemon, like how febass and milotic replaced Magikarp and Gyarados. |
G5 has lots of awesome pokemon like Darmantian (a gorilla with fire for eyebrows) and Samurott (the only cool final form starter since g3) But I have to admit it does have the largest amount of losers such as Roggenrolla which is pretty much just a rocky arse hole with legs. I think its a really good game though overall seeing as though there is an actual story line as opposed to just getting the badges.

I don't think Gen 5 was awful, Elum's Mum does. I'm just saying what does Strike Witch think its good?
EDIT: I'm also trying to say that Elum's Mum's Opinion isnt stupid |
Gen 5 was awesome, I like it a lot more than Gen 4.
|
I disliked Gen. 4, I really liked Gen. 3 (Isn't that the Hoenn one?), but I think the Gen. 5 pokémons don't look good at all.
That's just my opinion though. |

Also, I hate when they created evolutions for things that never needed them. Such as Likilicky. What the hell is that? It's nothing more than a retarded likitung with a bib. And Scisor, a lobster with wings! A praying mantis with scythes for hands seems much cooler to me! |
Scizor is good, Lickilicky is...
yeah... |
Scizor was the coolest thing I had ever seen when I was 7.
|
Lickilicky however needs at least three more posts complaining about it to justify just how bad it looks.
http://i.imgur.com/6Sftq.png I mean what the fuck Sugimori-sensei, what were you smoking? |
Let me rephrase...I like scisors design, but I hate that it's so unrelated to Scyther. Scyther looks cooler to me, and seeing my precious bug turned into a lobster...no.
I also thought the evo for rhydon was stupid. |
Basically all the G1 evolutions in G4 looked ridiculous.
Yanmega was super cool though. |
I didn't mind Yanmega at all. Gallade wasn't bad either.
My favorite pokemon... Mewtwo Scyther Likitung Dunsparce Venonat Dragonair Kanghaskahn Porygon Missingno |
Missingno isn't a pokemon.
|
It is for me.
I always like taking risks, and missingno seemed like a pretty cool glitch "pokemon". Like a creepy ghost in the machine. or something. |
Missingo still isn't a Pokemon. Glitches are not Pokemon. They are glitches.
He is cool, though. |

I seem to not be alone in this, but I really hate Watchdog. I had liked Petrat until that second gym, but after losing three or four times, I boxed him, and don't think he's ever going to evolve. |
I liked our last Pokemon thread better than this one.
|
|
^ Mafia pokemon.
I love digglet or whatever his name is, my brother liked pidgey. Never ever bought a single nintendo pokemon game though because I never had an SP or advance or anything. However I had shit loads of the cards without knowing how to play and a book with every pokemon in it. I think it was a 2002 book. Yummeh! |
Money has always been an irrelevant factor in Pokémon games, I mean honestly, you go out and struggle for about half an hour of the game. Then you just reel in the cash from random encounters and trainers/gym leaders.
