So who agrees with me? We've had over 9000 empty promises in the past 6 years, a bunch of games rereleased over and over and over again on all different platforms (do hardcore Oddworld fans actually care about the fact that a game that they completed 298 times is now available on another platform), Lorne is now trying to turn Oddworld into a social network (that's not what the good old OW is about and I don't want an Oddchan, thank you very much) and they're all praising small games made with digital distribution (again the complete opposite of the good old OW). I think OWI should just sell the Oddworld IP to some other developer who actually cares about their fans instead of torturing us like that. WBU?

I really think you should stop talking, before you get Nate and Max and me and OitB and everyone else in this forum jumping down your throat. Most of us are grateful for the fact that Oddworld is back at all, and with any luck, an Abe's Oddysee HD remake could prove VERY successful financially, and it could kickstart a company that we've all supported over these long years. And who knows, they could go on to make an Exxoddus remake, redo Munch, have another Stranger, possibly even Squeak (one day). Oddworld is NOT dead, and i'd advise you don't post crap like this again.

Currently they're behaving like conservative old people who just sit there and talk about how great they were "when they were young 'uns". As much as I'd like to see another release from Oddworld, being patient is something we must learn and understand. Sure they've taken a ling time releasing things in the past few years, but it'll be worth it in the end. They're taking things slow, as any perfectionist would. Aren't they supposedly releasing 4 new titles this year?

I would hate for them to rush something out just to please the die hard fans, that's my view.

Level editors and other hacking tools appear all the time, despite whether or not the company is still producing material. You see Super Mario World hacks being made to this day and Nintendo are still making games. I don't remember those hacking tools being sourced by Nintendo. Just because level editors are being made it doesn't mean a franchise is dead.

Dude super mario world engine is much easier to use than ALIVE. Meaning OWI doesn't care about the fans so much that the fans actually put the time in to make the ALIVE engine usable.

Just because it's "much easier" to use it doesn't mean time wasn't spent putting work into making it usable. I don't understand that you can measure a company's affection for its fans by how much fans do to edit an existing game. I just don't think that works at all. A lot of games are hacked, even if the company who made them is still active.

OK, there has been NOTHING new from OWI for the past 6 years. The fanbase is tiny (so don't expect the amount of fanmade levels you get from LBP) and supposedly it's impossible to use the ALIVE engine. People still managed to find away to use it. Looks like someone is REALLY desperate for new Oddworld here.

There has been new stuff from OWI. How exactly do you know what the fanbase size is? The ALIVE engine isn't impossible to use, I created a level editor for it. THE END
