Just Add Water releasing four Oddworld titles this year

Four titles? If they're counting Stranger's Wrath HD as a title, then that still leaves three new things to be released. Even if Abe HD is announced for this year, then there's still two projects that we haven't heard anything about.

Whatever they do, I hope they don't rush things - Quality over quantity. I hope it's smaller projects (as opposed to making whole new games) like Abe HD that they're using to re-start the franchise.

Can't wait to know what those 2 other projects are, assuming SWHD and AOHD are included in the 4 mentioned.

I'm guessing they'll release a completely new Abe game late this year since that is what most people seem to want. (Including me!)

There's a good chance that they'll remake Munch in HD at some point, but I don't think they'd do that this year because they've already announced SW HD and "Abe HD".

im probably hoping for too much here but i think it would be great if they completely remade MO like how it was supposed to be on the ps2. Even if they did though it definetely couldnt be one of the ones being released this year

My gut feeling is that different console ports of the various games will be included as seperate titles.

To be honest, that's probably the thing I want most from JAW.

I can see why many people want a new Abe game, but Stranger's Wrath was the one that really had a cliffhanger in the end. I'd really love to see what happens with Sekto, Stranger and everything. SW was a great game on it's own, but I think it needs a sequel.

In a way I am too however i'm dying for a new game more so then a Remake. i like the remakes, Abe's Oddysee HD is gonna rock!

These projects are making up for lost time methinks. ;) But hopefully they won't all be released in to short of a time gap, or there'll be too much and my mind will be blown etc etc.

That would be pretty stupid. Besides, they said they are releasing 4 new titles, which is good news unless they are going to call it different on every console.

Chances are that they will do HD versions of all of the old games, possibly with Munch being completely remade.

Do you reckon the anti social networking Thingy ma jig counts as one of the four? I know jaw aren't working on it but who knows. If not I agree the other 2 will probz just be abes oddysee hd ngp and strangers wrath hd ngp or something.

As far as we know, that's an OddMobb project and not Oddworld related.

Yup, BM's right the antisocial network (or whatever the new name is) is an OddMobb project and unrelated to JAW or Oddwrold.

There was that Ipod screenie earlier on last year wasn't there, probably the same thing.

Those two images are both 320x480, which is the screen resolution for the first to third iPhone generations.

e: also note the little "i" in the bottom left corner of the screen with Abe. If that's not a touch-screen button I don't know what is.

Looks like an iPod/iPhone app with just the GameSpeak to me. Which is still pretty cool.

Why does it say "Loading Abe Speak" when in the previous games, the loading screen has always been "Loading [Insert game's name]"?

I'm almost 100% sure this is just a gamespeak app.

It may be another function, or the iPhone might take longer to load the GameSpeak screen for some reason, or maybe it's an entirely new function. Perhaps they have managed to make Abe's head read out text messages, for example.

Now that's interesting. Like everyone else here, I wonder what those are about - But I suppose we'll find out sooner or later. It actually makes me a little glad to see, since things like iPhone apps don't take as much effort to create and can potentially generate a lot of income (look at Angry Birds, for example), so therefore making one would be a good step forward to restarting the franchise.

It's just one of those crappy soundbox things like "ben ten mouthoff" or something lol. You click the phrase and it says the sound. I'd say this defienetly counts as one of the four titles, I could be wrong but I doubt it :-/ .So Abe crap voicebox , abes oddysee hd and strangers wrath hd. So that just leaves the fourth.... Hmm. We know that they're working with the ngp but that dosen't get released until late this year if not early next year so I wouldn't say that the fourth title is an ngp title. Unless it's just a port of the hd remakes with ngp controls. Or maybe another hd remake of either munch or exodus for the home consoles. Either way I doubt were getting anything like squeak anytime soon :(

And as for the latter example, have you any idea how complicated that is? A tiny team of contracted developers would not be able to put together a text-speech convertor with custom voice without spending a massive pile of cash on either R&D or predeveloped packages. And that's not likely for a cheap iPhone app with niche appeal.

People need to flash their memories back to the podcast where Stewart Gilray first announced JAW's partership with OWI. He pulled out his phone and started playing Abe's voice. I think that we've just now found out what he was fiddling with.

I am aware of that. But it was such a pleasing idea that I wanted to see if it stuck. It did not. But I find your party-pooping attitude kindred to my own.

I see my role in these forums as being to dampen down any and all expectations so that everyone can be excited no matter what is announced.

A Gamespeak app is something I would see beeing made by a Fan not by the company itself.
