aliens and astronomy
what do you think?
are there any in our solar sistem? what do you think they would look like? |
Yes.
No. Impossible to imagine. |
I'm pretty sure that my neighbor is an alien, so I'm a believer.
I think aliens exist but not in our solar system.
there is no way of telling what they might look like. the most likly planet to contain life so far would be gliese 581 d, it is a planet that scientists calculated as being in the habitable zone (not too close to the sun, not too far away either) they have sent a message there which will arrive in 2029 and the earliest time for a response would be 2049, although I don't think we will get a response evan if there is inteligent life ther, they are currently working on a new satalite that may be able to see the planet and determine its outer atmosphere, from that they can determine weather or not something is breathing down and if something is breathing it's alive. so the discovery of alien life might actually be in our lifetimes. |
It seems really unlikely. A planet with life on it would be very far away and we don't even know where. Also if another planet's lifeforms become intelligent enough to master space travel and move across solar systems and galaxies why would they give a fuck about us?
:
although I do agree that any life cabable of effective space travel wouldnt care about us |
I think it's kind of ignorant to say that we're alone in the whole universe. But as far as our Solar System, if there were any aliens, we probably would have found them by now.
Given what we currently know there is a real possibility that there was life at least at one point on other planets in this system, however most likely in the form of microscopic organisms.

I think there's definitely life out there, I mean meteorites with amino acids have fallen from outer space so...
If you look only on Solar system, I would search on Europe (Ice-Moon of Jupiter) Under the ice there could be water and water is something important for life to begin.
Seaman lives there
hm well from all of the pictures from mars, there was an evolution similar like on earth,a nasa rover found a fossil tree on mars, and some signs that there was a tribe, like fossil bones of water creatures and a black spot, like there was fire there once.... they think that venus was same as earth till its global warming went wild
Just because there's water doesn't mean there's life, my physics professor told me once that sometimes a planet with more water than landmass can destroy any chance of life, there are other factors.
http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgur...1t:429,r:7,s:0 ^^ Geejaz guys there are tuskan raiders on Mars |
:
im searching for the pic,ill give the link when i find it,or if it was a vid
Croatia's education level is kinda low :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cqDe-6WsBI here is the vid with the picture the name of the organisation is:Astronomska udruga Vidulini or on english astronomic organisation Vidulini |
I belive only Wikipedia, and it says no.

OMG! It's a fossilised giant prehistoric mushroom! http://wwwdelivery.superstock.com/WI...566-289385.jpg AND here is proof that the mega-volcanos in South-Western Australia blew up at exactly the same moment as the Ice Age hit. How else can you explain a wave of molten rock solidifying in an instant? http://farm1.static.flickr.com/51/13...6220917a81.jpg And you can only imagine what sort of creature hatched out of this rock-egg. Seriously, you only can imagine it given that the idea is so absurd. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...er-split_b.jpg |

apparently there's a paramite on Mars??? http://www.alienshift.com/sitebuilde...ures/mars8.jpg

Second of all, what's your point? I had already looked at the original photo before I wrote my last post. I was unconvinced then and I remain unconvinced now. |
God Mars is shit-boring
the only interesting place is the depths of the Mariner valley hurry up and go look there NASA |
well,it looks like nothing but it might be a tree, its like you find a fossil and say,nah somebody just painted a plant on a rock
If vegetation grew on Mars it would probably look nothing like trees on Earth. Seperate evolutionary paths and all that.
I doubt they would be oxygen breathing ones as well, probably carbon in taking, this would make chlorophyll a unlikely evolutionary path for any life on Mars.
There does not appear to be sufficient medium on the surface it which to live. No liquid solvent, and the atmosphere is crap. Underground is your best bet.
there was lots of oxigen back then, and the plants can look like the ones we find on earth, but they might be made out of something else,as there is proof mars had oceans of water, plants, animals, but the atmosphere lacked a bit of co2 and the warmth left the planet turning it into a barren waste land, without co2,oxigen started thinning, plants dying, creatures dying becouse of decreased oxigen,UV particles boiling of water, the only remnant of water is at its poles
You may find some dispute about there being proof of animal and plant life on Mars. By anyone who knows anything about Mars.
well i watched few new shows on national geographic
You did, eh?
i watched a show on National Geographic about floating zebras.
can't wait to see one. |
I say if there is other life it will most likely be on gliese 581 d (a planet 20.3 lightyears away that lies in the habbitabal zone of its star)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gliese_581_d |
I don't think there are any in the Soar system
I think Aliens do exsit (well lifeforms anyway) but the chances of other life in the solar system isn't too big.
yeah,me too,but they were mumbling of life on europa or titan since he is full of natural gases and his atmosphere is being replenished with methane, this might mean that there are animals there
i too believe in aliens, but, like crashpunk said, there is a low probability they are in our solar system, because as we already know, except from earth, there is no other planets in our galaxy capable of supporting life, except from maybe mars, but we've had probes there for dacades and so far no sign of life, so i think far out in space maybe.
wow that was a mouthfull of science, never knew i had it in me. |
