Munch's Exoddus
 

I know ME the game was canceled however I am wondering if that is really true. Could it just be delayed as a future title now that OWI is back? Or is it the next new title that we keep hearing as the secret Oddworld project?

I want to see Munch's journey to Ma-Spa, I also want to see Sam, Gluk Queen, Slig Queen, all the stuff that was taken out of MO and put right back into ME but of coarse to better suit the Munch's Exoddus story. There was so much stuff missing that it made a hole the size of the Grand Canyon. Its a shame really but I have hopes we will see this. What do you think?

I think that you probably shouldn't get your hopes up.

I'm hoping that the new game is a simple platformer no strings attached. ME seems like it would need a heavy amount of funding and that means investors and debts. At least a platformer isn't as hard and time consuming to make compared to a 3d first person game

You all know my opinion on that game. Anyway I don't think it will be the "Odd What" on homepage.

Its very unclear what is the next Oddworld game. but i recon after they make one just to declare Oddworld 'Not dead anymore' they will start on the Quintilogy again.

Who knows if they even still want to follow through with the quintology? That could have been a joke since it's just the strangest sounding word for a series they could find/make up. Who's to say what is and what isn't part of the "main story'. You all have this Quintology thing melded into your brain.

This was back in 98/99, you know that people can't predict the future of their businesses right? By the time MO actually came out that's when the trouble began

I think even if the remake of SW goes well; they still won't make ME...

...however, I do think they would still make a sequel to MO. But this only if business goes well and to be fair; at the moment, their business ain't looking too grand.

I just don't think it will be titled "Munch's Exoddus"; because to be honest, I think its a a bit naive thinking each Oddysee in the Quintology will be followed by an Exoddus.

Lorne Lanning and Paul O'Connor have talked about Munch's Exoddus using exactly that name. They were going to make it. However, they never announced that they were going to deliver it specifically.

As long as they make a game where you can play as abe again, i'll be cool with it.

Yeah, Abe was such a great character, they should totally keep using him until he becomes a tiresome cliché, like game companies always do with their popular characters.

I hated that Abe was the sidekick to Munch that ended up doing more than the main character. But he is like THE mascot for Oddworld, so he needs to appear again, just as long as he doesn't get too "Cool" and overused like you said Enchilado. Sometimes if a series runs on for too long, it's as if the protagonist is too cocky and not interesting anymore. I also do not want a Return of Mullock. I just couldn't take it seriously.

I agree with you in some parts ziggy, somethings don't make sense when certain characters are supposed to be deceased and come back somehow.

Munch's Oddysee was a good game, I definately want to see a sequel. But some additions made the game horrible, like how interns became the "main guards" and not the classic sligs.

Though I want the third installment of Abe's chronicles. He's such a classic character, it's so hard to get...well..Tired of him! He was like, the main seed that grew oddworld.

I want Abe's (Insert Name Here) to have more serious cutscenes, and rhyming as it did in oddysee. Munch's Oddysee had HD cutscenes, but not the serious dark and grim feeling.

His tweets are as cannon as Alf's Q&A responces.

His tweets are a little confused as to whether they're set pre-escape or post.

Perhaps, with the release of the Oddboxx, we could expect more interest in Oddworld. And since two of them are Quintology games, we should expect interest in the Quintology and what's going to happen there. So, I feel that if Oddworld becomes a success and they continue making games, the Quintology may not be such an unlikely route to go down. So we may see ME, perhaps. I'm just happy they're back, let's be honest :D

I think oddoworld got a big suprise on how big there games became (money wise) and they thought Great! we got some money lets stop! then they have realised how much we have missed them and they are making a comeback.. thats in my opinion but who knows?

I don't think that was the situation nor Lorne and Sherry's idea, I hope they're not like that but I presume they are not.

As I voiced previously I would like to see another platformer, not neccesarily with Abe, I think the quintology stated that Abe would make one more tragic appearance in the last game. They do need to add new characters, seeing Squeek would be interesting, maybe then they should make a fp addon too MO

I can guarantee you they didn't think "Our games are more successful than we thought they'd be, we'd better stop making them."

If they are going back to the quintology then I know Abe will be in every one and thats a fact. Just go to OWI history and read through it. It talks about the quintology and how each game will introduce a new hero ending with five main heros together in the big city. Its states each game of the quintology introduces a new hero with a new problem that will join coexisting heros Abe, Munch, etc etc.

I can't imagine what it would be like to control five characters in a video game. That would be interesting.

It'd make for unique puzzles. The potential is exciting.

i really wouldn't like that idea i think i speak for all of us here that we want abe to still be in the whole quintology without abe its just plain boring

Speak for yourself, I want to see new characters that aren't supported by Abe, Munch didn't feel like a new hero, just a sidekick to Abe, at least, that's how I felt while playing

I think the reason for that was because Munch had about one level to himself, with the rest being shared with Abe. It also didn't help that Abe was almost always the most used character in those shared levels, with Munch usually just clearing up a few Fuzzles or zapping some enemies.

I think that if the Quintology continues with more heroes being introduced, OWI would hopefully learn from MO's flaws and give each character more use in levels, and balance them out a little better.

I don't want to see too many new characters, otherwise it's going to turn into mordern sonic games with a shitload more characters than they know what to do with.

Abe is the main man, you take him out of the picture and you've taken away the face of oddworld.
