OddTour 4
...Two weekends ago (I think) I took a trip to London and spent a day with a bunch of geeky friends who I'd never met before. That's right; I fell to the lure of the OddTour.
After a few unfortunate cancellations (Lorne let us down again) the number of Oddworld Forums members meeting on that fateful weekend was whittled down to four; Myself, Max the Mug, Hobo and Dripik. Here Are Some Photographs Taken During The Day. Hobo, Dripik and Max outside the Imperial War Museum http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1284400190 Hobo inside said museum http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1284400190 Here is the only picture of all four of us, which is the only reason I uploaded such a debacle of a photograph. Splat, Max, Dripik, Hobo. http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1284400190 And finally, here is a picture of me and Max having dinner in Pizza Express. http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1284400190 Now it's Max's turn to upload some photos and tell you all about the wonderful stuff we did. |
Max is cool in the last picture. Edit and add shades! Do it!

Yes, please do. It will hide whatever weird thing my eye is doing.
More pictures and stories coming soon! |
|
CONSEQUENCES WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!
...I mean now that I've seen the similarities and... y'know... |
Wrong meme.
|
:
Of course I know it's the wrong meme, I just thought it was cool. ...I guess I'm not cool. *takes shades off* :( |

Cool, can't wait to see the other stories/pics!
|
Aw, I wish I could have come. But an old job application suddenly bit, and I was being interviewed and then very suddenly hired.
Woo job! by the way. |
Hey! It's me!
|
|
Maxye West.
|
How cute.
Did you end up walking around London for three hours looking for a vegan establishment as well? :p Alcar... |
I want a massive OddTour with the Mods and tons of members. Including Oddworld Inhabitants of course.
|
If it got big enough I'd want to call it an OddCon.
|

|
I wanted to be old enough to ENTER, seeing as it was in London, perhaps there should be an under 18 odd tour at some point...hmmmm. Anyway, bahhha at the pics.

The weekend played out like this: Dripik arrived in London on Friday morning. I got in on Friday afternoon and we met and got to know each other. Then I went off to the house of my sister where I was staying. Dripik went and met the other two as they arrived in London that evening and I guess they went and did stuff. On Saturday morning we got together and went to the Imperial War Museum. Then we went in search of a vegan eating establishment that Wil knew of and found it closed, so we bought some questionably vegan sandwiches from the Tesco across the road. We went and found a quite park bench off of the beaten track to dine. Then we headed to the National Gallery and looked at National Pictures for a National Hour or two before National Hobo had to leave, so we left the National Gallery, said our goodbyes and waved him off. Wil, Dripik and I then headed to a cybercafe and Wil spent an hour looking for vegan establishments in London. When our time ran out we'd failed to reach a satisfactory conclusion (I must admit I wasn't that helpful in that particular process) so we decided to go to Pizza Express since it did vegan pizza. But first we went to Convent Garden and watched a guy juggle swords on a tightrope on one leg. Then we went to Pizza Express, ate Pizza and went off to St James's Park and watched some swans have a battle. Then we went to a small London drinking establishment, drank some drinks, and finally I left to go back to my sister's. Wil and Dripik did some stuff on Sunday which I'm sure they will tell you all about. |
I'm currently working on an extended narrative of the event from my perspective. I also have some pictures, which will probably end up as a montage, seeing that only one of them feature people from the group, in an off-focus kind of way.

MM - I could probably make it to an oddtour without me parents but then, the elderly are unpredictable!
|
No one is preventing you from planning a junior oddtour yourself, you know.
|
Except all the mods and admins who don't need the bad press.
|
Junior OddTour would be gay. I'm a junior. Not a gay one tho'. Maybe that would make it semi-interesting...
I need some sleep, bye. |

|
Stop trying to convince the kids they're straight.
|
Aww.... my babies! <3
*sniffle* |
I once went to the Imperial War Museum and peered down tank shafts, then Covent Garden and ate massive chocolate waffles..
..Thought I'd throw that out there. In hindsight, that sounds kinda gay. I could backspace. But, you know what, I won't. :) |
God, Oddtour (GODTOUR?) would be such a humdrum bottle of bored for us North Americans. Where would we go? Some woods? We'd look at trees? Drive through the Mojave desert and try experimental drugs? Hm?

Not that I would have forsaken meeting Dripik just to fulfill the requirements of a lame pun or anything. |
:
|
More like SoddTour.
Right? |
I tihkn we should do a teenage oddtour, who wants to go? It will be fun ad non-molesty.

@ Dripik: Since you're from Hungary have you been to Székesfehérvár? I have no knowledge of the place, but that's where my dad was born, and I might visit family there in the future. |
You guys are all spamming because you're jealous that you missed out on this weekend's incredible, edible, anchor spreadable
OddTour 4B!!! Which featured... http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1284980491 Max the Vegan (winsome!), Hobo (troll), Splat (geek), Sekto Springs (Mr Popular) and T-Nex (female! :pipe: ) http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1284980491 And some guy called Gluk Schmuck who Wil the Mug found in a vegan cafe! Our adventure went a little like this: I got an extortionately expensive train into London at Stupid AM on Sunday morning and there met up with Hobo and Max! http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...5&d=1284980465 Sekto and Nexy eventually turned up, too! http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...6&d=1284980465 We headed off to Camden Market and looked around, and then went to the aforementioned vegan cafe. Unfortunately the Camden Tube Station closed while we were sat around so Max's chum, Gluk Schmuck agreed to lead us on a dangerous journey on foot to Regent's Park, along a canal of doom! Along the way, Gluk Schmuck turned out to be none other than the ancient pre-Alcar's Reign of Terror member, Gluk Schmuck!! http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1284980910 After leading us a mere one mile in the wrong direction, Gluk Schmuck got us to Regent's Park! http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1284981212 In Regent's Park we did something secret and sneaky and Sekto Springs ran the battery on my camera down, ending all photographic documentation for the remainder of this post. Hobo and Gluk Schmuck made their escape and the remaining four of us headed to the Tate Modern Gallery to look at art and then we went to Wagamama to eat dinner. Finally, I used my extortionately expensive train ticket to head for home, leaving the other three to go to a bar somewhere. Lots of photos were taken by the others so hopefully they'll have the energy to upload them. And as a note to all those who were present, the sound on my camera did work and the results are hilarious beyond belief. |
Awwww :3
You're all so lovely. Alcar... |
