Are there any female Mudokons?
Are there any female Mudokons? How do you guys think they reproduce. I know this is a stupid question, but I have honestly never seen a female mudokon. Now that I think of it ... I haven't seen a FEMALE RACE on Oddworld? Except maybe the non - humanoid races, I really don't know how to tell.:fuzblink:
|
Mudokons live in eusocial environments which is where all offspring come from a queen. Not unlike ants or bees. So technique Abe is neither male or female but asexual.
The only mentioned mudokon queen so far is Queen Sammy; who is, I think, a captive of Vykkers Labs. For future questions like this I suggest using the Oddworld Questions and Answers thread. I just did Max's job. I should get paid. |
Worker bees are genetically female, and will lay eggs when the hormonal balance of the hive goes awry. So I think we can assume that Abe is male, if not functionally so.
|
|
If I don't remember wrong, there are female Clakkerz.
And yes, the only known Mudokon female is the queen, Sam. |
And female Grubbs?
|
And a female outlaw.
I was very disappointed when Lorne told me that Jo Mamma wasn't a drag queen. |
Ha we've heard it before Nate.
I believe that if anything like bees / ants / wasps, there are mudokon girlies that are simply infertile. |
I remember reading somewhere that is it says the mudokins have no sexual organs or something like that
http://www.oddworld.com/firsttenyear...abe_stats.html So i guess theirs no females :C |
They still have penises, normally like human.

:
It's only a matter of time until someone inquires about Abe's genitals; The general consensus is some form of penis but with no sexual functions. |
:
|
if the queen dies who replaces her?
and,by the way:we all know the queen is their mother but who is their father(s)? |
Wow, that's really interesting ... But there actually ARE female mudokons, native probably, but we haven't seen them yet? All we see are sexless "Male-looking" mudokons who have penises but they don't function? Thats kinda messed up if you ask me.
Thanks guys. |

maybe theyre... you know... do i really have to say it... are you sure... fine... GAY!!!
|
Homosexuality implies sexuality. The worker Muds are asexual and thus would not be interested in any sexual behaviour whatsoever, whether with themselves or another hypothetical gender.
|
I believe that is OWNED.
|
:
I'm sure I remember reading something somewhere that implied that mudokons have drones, who basically exist to breed with and take care of the queen. I could be entirely wrong though. |
I believe it's a fan theory based on the comparison to bee societies. I don't recall Lorne & co. ever stating anything on the record about that.

Notice the citation, as well as how bullshit-free Alf is. Note also that Alf provides no information other than that there are multiple of them. |
(The citation link is broken, by the way. It has 'reference1I' instead of 'referenceI')

Coz that would make a lot of fucking sense! I think Abe being asexual doesn't really matter because he is regularly referred to as a he meaning that he possesses male genitalia amongst other things like well, a male accent.
|
:
|
We can't really tell if he has a male accent, it may sound that way, but it IS Oddworld. Plus, have you heard any character that had a female voice that wasn't the chicken people? Come to think of it, this all may be a lack of female voice actors.
|
So true, I think it is lack of female actors. I also find it funny, when I scroll through the credits and see that most the voice acting is done by Lorne Lanning
|
I'm fairly sure I heard that, long ago, Lorne made it clear that he made mudokons, glukkons, sligs etc. asexual so as to avoid any sexual scenes or implications that might otherwise pollute his dystopia.
If I was Wil then this post would probably contain very useful footnotes and references. |
