Duke Nukem Forever confirmed, Nerdgasms had.
http://blog.pikimal.com/geek/2010/09...-has-returned/
Good Lord, if all those sarcastic nerds are to be believed, the world should be ending soon. But seriously, this is great news. |
Oh for Christ's sake...
Another ten year wait, woo. |
Next from PAX; Episode 3, peace in the Middle East and the second coming.
y does he look like albert wesker?
He is Albert Wesker. It's going to be a Duke Nukem/Resident Evil Crossover. Due to Umbrellas secret meddling in trans-dimensional technology, most of the characters were flung into Duke Nukem's world. The radiation from the 'flinging' caused Albert to merge with Duke and Jill Valentine to merge with every stripper.
GOD YES! Haha, I'm getting this, I don't care how horrible it is. I remember Duke Nukem, truly the Grand Theft Auto of its day, parents despised it XD
Heh, I remember playing Manhattan Project with mu grandpa :P
Die Swine-Policemen!!! |
Ha! Manhattan Project was my fave when I was like 7 years old. Me and my dad played it all the time. This is great news anyways.
Yeah Dynamithix, if I've learned anything in life it's that you could always bet on Duke.

Shame my preorder receipt is probably no longer valid.
Interesting. I've never played any of the Duke Nukem games, but I might try to before this ships.
So, I'll probably have time to beat them all 100%, more than once. I kid. Is this even by the original developers? |
No.
Play Duke Nukem 3D as it is great. |
This game was cancelled in 2009 after being announced in like, the early-mid 90's. Personally, I think it's the greatest trolling attempt in gaming history.
It's called Duke Nukem Forever because it TAKES FUCKING FOREVER TO MAKE! It's not coming out. You're being trolled by the very people who're making it. |
I'll laugh if it's mediocre.
Not even bad, just so mediocre nobody will ever give a shit again. |
:
When I die, I want this game to still be in development.
How does anyone take Duke Nukem seriously enough to dislike it??
Because hating things that have perceptively undeserved popularity is one of the few things that humans are really good at.
If you think Duke Nukem is popular than you must play some really underground shit. I've always felt that it had more of a cult following idk, besides the last one came out liek ten years ago this is a good opportunity for us to tell little kids that all the games they grew up on are horrible and that we know better.
Funnily enough, as it happens, I do play really underground shit.
Watch it have a cover system and regenerating health. Fuck, it'll be labelled as a Matt Hazard clone, of all things.
Duke Nukem 3D was better when it was called Doom.
Seriously, having played through it, 3D wasn't very good. Not good enough to warrant the decade plus hype that Forever has garnered.
People are already getting angry at only 2 weapons at a time.
I just broke into laughter at this thought: Over-hyped games usually don't live up to it, if Forever DOES come out, I have a feeling every major reviewer is gonna write, "Not worth the hype."
Even if Duke Nukem Forever would be mediocre or worse, many people will still buy it because it will finally be released after so many years. I will be one of those people, just because Duke Nukem is just so... DUKE. He's freaking nostalgia himself.
Gearbox made borderlands, which was an awesome game, so I don't see why DNF would be mediocre.
Notice the "even if" Xavier. ;)
Borderlands is a very awesome game and I heard they're going to increase the level cap to 69. Whippee! |
:
The level design was where a majority of the highlights of the game were, for me. There was enough stuff for you to need to go over to pick it up and I never found myself in excess of basic weapons or very powerful weapons unless I bothered to find EVERY secret area (I always manage to have 50 pipebombs at the end of each episode regardless of how many I used/found). Some of the open maps have excellent use of enemies, too. The weapons were awesome, despite some being useless. Laser tripmines appeared to be a gameplay element that they decided to let you use. Good fun in online, though. I want to play online co-op with a friend some time. I used to play it with my dad when I was younger. I always thought it was a good game and the amount of times I've re-visited it (and had fun doing so) is more that proof. I was looking forwards to DN:F being a direct sequel, even if it meant having the same enemies, weapons and items. I want a good, old fashioned, FPS game. I doubt this will happen now, though. |
Phylum: I strongly recommend that you play Resistance Fall of Man, I know I constantly rant about it, but it's perfect for you. It has an old school Doom or Quake like fast-paced feel to it and has a huge variety of Ratchet and Clank-esque weapons.
I think games should be more restrictive in terms of weapons. They give you loads so you can take your own approach to problems, but unless a situation rises where you are forced to use one of them, you won't discover half of the options that are open to you.
That's why I like the level up system in CoD- i tend to swap to whatever the newest gun I've gotten is. That said, CoD has that many near identical machineguns/sub machine guns that most are redundant anyway.
And I might get Duke Nukem Forever just because. It's taken so long to make, unless it's horrendously bad I'll probably buy it. |
LET'S ROCK!
Day one purchase for me. |
I hate Call of Duty with a passion.
It was good before Infinity Ward made it into the over-rated piece of shit it is today. Sign in to Xbox Live; all you see is Modern Warfare 2 Modern Warfare 2 Modern Warfare 2, and get about 40 pms all saying "u getn black ops". Speaking of old Duke Nukem games, I enjoyed Land of the Babes, the one liners were epic. |

holy f this is awesome |
