People need to sympathise with the fact that new members have little to no knowledge on the activity of Oddworld Inhabitants and Oddmobb.

Before I joined I had no knowledge on anything regarding Oddmobb, the ASN, the oddworld movie, the cancelled projects or the situation of the company itself.

Give people some slack.

But still, that's a rather dickish mindset to be taking. It's also a very counterproductive mindset to take. Instead of wasting time posting some witty prose or insulting the OP, one could spend that time answering their questions.

We should really force new members to read an article stating what OWI is doing at the moment and lists the names of games that have been canned. They then would have to answer a few questions about that article so we are sure they are up to date when they are actually allowed to post.

I think we should make a questionnaire asking the same questions that new members are always making whole new threads to ask, and disallow them from posting their own threads until they've done the research and gotten every answer correct.

Or make a sticky thread telling everyone about the current status of Oddworld?

Oddworld Questions and Answers is stickified, and we all see how well that works out.

In all fairness I've been here for fucking ever and oddmob is news to me. I'm a bad old member.

People aren't going to read numerous pages of Oddworld related questions and answers hoping their questions will pop up. I say make a specific thread dealing with the current activity of Oddworld, make it easy to read and update the op.

Then people can just direct people to that topic instead of all these long winded questions and answers regarding the current status of Oddworld.

I don't think you get it. Its not about reading it. Its about fucking using it. If they have a question, they should post it in there. Questions and Answers isn't an established FAQ, its a place to ask questions so you don't clutter up GD with threads like "WHEN NEXT OW GAME ALREADY THX LOL".

Even if there was an established FAQ, I still doubt they would read it. The proof is in the pudding, there's an established thread for asking questions, and people don't use it. Logic dictates that if you made an established thread on OM's sitrep, they still wouldn't read it.

Holy Sock's idea is a good one. It will get seen by some people, and those that don't see it can be readily redirected to it. Hell, there is already such a thread, but it needs updating.

It's just finding the time to do that.
