Just looked up the death toll. Over 50,000 dead. For a natural disaster to cause that many deaths in one go is terrible.

Ragging on contemptible, evangelist assholes like Robertson because they say things like "they deserved it" for no reason other than impiousness is hardly irreverent. What happened in Haiti was tragic, as if they didn't have it bad enough already. It's sick that there are those types out there who say Haiti had it coming, and it's even worse that they have legions of followers.

I don't think expressing my distaste for shitheads like Robertson or Phelps is misplaced in this thread. I wish I could donate money, but I barely even have enough for basic necessities.

There's a time and a place, and every thread in this forum is a couple of steps away from devolving into spam and jokes on default, which usually I couldn't care less about.

Come now, they were only showing their disgust (through humor) at the people who truly are treating the situation with irreverence. It's happened. It's awful. There is very little that we can do besides donating some cash.
