I own Abe's Exoddus, so I think I'll wait for the Oddbox.
In fact, I'd say the Oddbox is why they've dropped AO/E's prices. |
NOOOOOOOOO!!! I just bought Abe's Oddysee off of Steam for the standard price the other day! Perhaps suicide is the answer?
|
It is.
|
For the record, this is one of the best deals ever! I went back to Abe's Exoddus a few weeks ago and it completely reignited my love of these games. I would gladly pay top dollar for MO and SW when they put them on Steam. Oh, the memories...
|
i just bought AO & AE, and its a lot harder than the PS version, seeing as i've never played them on the PC. the gameplay is faster, too. has anyone noticed how the sprite animation seems to be quicker? as in the breathing, walking, etc.
only played AO so far tonight, AE is still downloading and i accidentally fucked it up so its started again. |
could that be to do with the PAL/NTSC thing? Psx PAL version running at 50hz and the PC at 60hz

WELCOME BACK!
|
Hehe, I didn't think anyone remembered! I've been lurking every few weeks/months to see if anythings been happening, and this Oddbox thing has me a little excited. I no longer have an original Xbox, but my PC is good to go. Now if only Lorne could catch a break with his current projects...

Steam is the actual devil; I haven't played half the games I've brought on there but when I see a game that's only a few months old for £3.99, I can't help myself. Its not financially viable to not buy it, I just don't have that option.
Steam games often have bug of their own, but flashing 80% OFF in our faces will always be a sound marketing ploy. The question in this case (for those who havn't brought the games already) is whether Oddbox [Full Price] is going to be cheaper then buying (MO + SW) + (AO + AE [Sale])? Though considering how many games I have to get through now, I won't get around to buying the Oddbox until it's in a sale of it's own anyway. |

You appear to have taken everything I have said quite literally. You should watch out for that. It'll make you look like a moron if you're not careful.
Steam is a fantastic service. Sorry that you didn't understand. |
Thats about 1.56 UK money isn't it? If I didn't already have AO and AE i'd buy that. Twice.
Sam, how am I supposed to get 'Steam is a fantastic service' from two paragraphs of slagging it off? |
That's a suspiciously precise estimate. It's £1.99 in the UK Store, but we always get just a little ripped off. It's nonetheless a fantastic deal.
The only negative thing I said about Steam was the bugs, which is unfortunately true, unless you missed the sarcasm in "Steam is the devil". |

ON TOPIC: Grieva, is there a way i can change the hz? and would it then function at standard speed, and not fuck my computer up too? but its extra nerve-racking when running past sligs and doing those running jumps up to ledges before getting your legs shot off, seeing as the shots fire a hell of a lot faster now. sounds like a machine gun. to be honest though, i thought that maybe the PC version was always this speed, and that it just slowed down slightly on PS. |
:
It was just on the psx in PAL regions like Europe and Australia we got a slightly slowed down version to match our TVs frame rates |
Hey, Mojoman is back!
Umm....something on topic? How long will this deal last? |
Already got them both for 10 bux which I have no problem paying for such great games to be in my collection for ever.
|
preemptive oddbox price reduc
|
Just bought and installed Oddysee and Exoddus and am running them on my VMware Windows partition. Oh, Abe ol' buddy, it's been too long.
|
This is probably a dumb question but...
Will the Oddbox be cheaper than buying one or two of the Oddworld games seperately on Steam? |
No, but it'll include all 4 games in a package so it's worth getting that because no one's sure whether or not SW or MO will also be sold separately on steam. But if you want just AO or AE then they're definately cheaper than the Oddbox will be (which I'm guessing will be around $20 but that's just what I think)
|
Ok. MO and SW should be released as stand-alones though, as no games are available on Steam only in a pack. I was just considering whether it would be wise to get MO only (as I'm not to eager to get SW, I already have AO & AE on the PS and I'm more interested in the Quintology) or whether I should get all four in the Oddbox.
BTW thanks. |
Well it depends on whether or not you want AO and AE on pc too. If you don't, and SW doesn't really appeal to you then you should probably just get MO. I mean, we're not talking about a lot of money here anyway. Maybe 10 bucks for MO by itself, there might even be discounts when the oddbox gets released. But I digress, it's up to you mate. And you're welcome
|
in layman's terms; if you wish to buy all the games, the Oddbox will be cheaper.
if you wish to buy one or two of the games, then buying them separate will be cheaper. |

It would be a shame not to try out SW as it is one of the best games OWI has made.
