Discussion on Forum Awards
 

As stated in that other thread, Forums Awards will be happening slightly earlier this year. We're trying to make it actually apply to a calendar year, rather than the March-March pattern that had been occurring.

We want input from members on the topics nominated. Obviously some awards are more serious than others; they should be judged in the right spirit. Feel free to suggest new award or whether old ones should be changed/removed entirely.

I anticipate that certain members will attempt to quickly devolve this thread in to in-jokes and stupid suggestions. This will very quickly be met with infractions. Do not test me.

there's a few to throw out there.

with the 'hardest working' one, i was thinking about the fan games and such that have been rapidly rising in numbers in FC, along with the Oddworld MMORPG, which a few members have helped out on. they don't really fit under any of the FC awards currently up there.

I'm a fan of returning the Best Blogger one from last year.

Somehow I think there's a reason the best blogger award was removed.
Note: Joe and Ghost are omitted from this award by default.

I remind all members that if you want to suggest an award, please think about the likelihood of us actually including it. We're never going to add 'Angriest Member' or 'Most Abused Member' to the list as they are both rude and unfunny. Rude and funny are fine, as long as you have both.

Please explain how that differs from 'Funniest Member'.

The funniest member doesn't necessarily have to be witty to evoke laughter. If a member says "durr penis" and others laugh, then they're funny but not witty. That's the way I see it anyway

So I have. I blame T-Nex for not listing the 2009 Awards in that other thread and carefully gloss over the fact that I didn't notice that the last awards would not have been 2008.
