Favourite OW music/theme?
Personally, the "theme" or music loop that plays in Bonewerkz in AE, in the quiet areas, always made me shiver a little for some reason. It really gives me a feeling of emptiness and suspense.
I actually can't remember Bonewerkz, even though I played it a few days ago. Um... I can't really think of any.
I do know I like them all, though. |
Well in some parts of boneworkz it's not really music, just some knocking noise, pipes, wind, etc
Def Feeco Depot, The War Room, and the Boiler.
AO soundtrack is the best.
the menu music and scrabania i can instantly recall |
I remember Scrabania 'coz I was listening to it on Youtube yesterday. It's very cool. I played it over and over in the background.
All this music talk makes me want to play through the games again.
I really like the song that plays just when the game is loading up, the one that was used in that fish advert or whatever it was. Bloody nostalgic every time I hear it. :
Does the OWF anthom count?
If not my vote goes for slig barracks, the nests in AO and especially the opening cutscene of AO. |

I like the Slig Barracks music. It's funny when it goes quiet halfway through, but you can still hear the gas chambers (or whatever makes that noise).
I also like the Stranger's Wrath intro music. |
Feels like this topic was done not too long ago.
My favortes would have to be the stockyards, Scrabania, Necrum, and the Brewery. |
FeeCo, Munchadee Ender.
Monsiac lines.
Fucking beautiful. |
easy peasy - FeeCo, Slig Barracks or Monsaic - i'd say Feeco first
My favorite themes are SoulStorm Brewery, War Room, Slig Barracks, Monsaic Lines, and Scrabania.
Slig barracks and The War Room.
Okay. I love Scrabania and the AO intro. I've only played up to Scrabania (playing through Paramonia first) in AO though.
I like 'em all, though. |
The AO Scrabania tracks (normal Scrabania and Ender), AE Game Ender, AE Paramite Chase, AE Slig Barracks, SW Fight for the Native Village, SW In the Dark Sewers (Buzzarton Sewers), SW Race Against Time (Sekto Springs Dam).
I've probably missed some out, but that is most of them. Though I don't listen to the Scrabania track a lot. I love it...but I cannot stand listening to it. Something about it |
would you count Oddworld Music as Soundtrack music. because most of the tracks are just Sound effects?
In the first two games, yes, I would.
Slig Barracks in AE, the Paramite nest in AO and being chased by a Scrab.
Ah! The Scrab Chase tune.
I like AO's Scrabnia theme and the chase theme, I think they use the same-ish tune in both games.
I always remember the Scrabania theme because it was the first song I can remember using the very cliche III V I chord progression, and it has been forever etched in my mind ever since (hearing it in other songs, I go "o scrabania lol")
Oh and i also love the Feeco Theme.
Sombody should remix it. it'll sound awesome. |
Free-fire zone theme is the most ambient and is a favourite of mine. The second would be Slig Barracks music.
Leto can you explain the "III V I" thing?
music tuition isn't free
Fine, I'll google it. PWNED!
Google like you've never googled before!
Was it the Mudomo Vault music that was pretty much some weird-sounding bells ringing?
Only to the Hignorant.
The scrab chase was truly epic. I tried to transcribe it for cello and percussion, but gave up due to the odd rhythms. The free fire zone music was really creepy, and I love it! |
The Scrabania music is some of the best game music ever. But nothing holds a candle to Forest Boss AAAA! from Super Meat Boy.
Escaping from the Stockyards into No Man's Land and hearing the opening theme is epic.
Also the Scrabania music really makes you feel like you're on a long desert pilgrimage. |
Scrabanian Nests for sure. The chase music there is just epicly FTW!
I just bought the strangers wrath soundtrack a few weeks ago and I must say it's really nice.
I know it's not very long but I always liked Munch Chair Groove, that's when he's being taken the operation room. If you listen to the voice about 10 seconds in, I THINK it says "If you can see bright light..." implying your *Under the knife* Which is what the cut scene is called. That's what I think, maybe it's just me, using my imagination...
If your looking for more ways to enjoy Oddworld AND music, check out the links in my signature, I think you'll like them but as no one ever watches them I can't say for sure |

Everything in AO, really, especially the Free-Fire Zone, Monsaic Lines, Scrabania and the temple thereof. The score to the FMVs is also brilliant, so uniquely Oddworld. I loved the AE music as well, except maybe the Brewery theme --- I didn't find it as atmospheric as the rest. But maybe that's just me.
FeeCo Depot and definitely the Slig theme. Can't remember if they're all that same, but all in all it's just a simple beat of drums with a creaky 'aaaarg' here and there. It starts playing once you possess a slig.
