I was wondering if this is true or someone edited it stupidly?

OWI did indeed shut down shortly after SW was released. Since then, Lorne has announced several things, such as the production of Citizen Siege, an Oddworld movie and a new Oddworld game. The release dates are currently unknown.

:O If OWI shut down how can they complete the quintology.:(

Why don't they tell about their projects when they're more likely to be finished? I hate these promises that just make people disappointment, even if it's nicely done to inform the fans. This makes me more and more believe that Oddworld Inhabitants really is dead as they can't finish anything anymore.

Haven't you ever heard of a "comeback"? Just when you think something's dead and buried, you see something more powerful and brilliant than before.

It worked for Rocky, Take That... and it will work for Oddworld too. Just wait and see.

I hope it does or someone will have to create an oddworld flash game site. With tons of odd-games!!:O:):) That would be cool.:D

OWI didn't quit. They went under due to poor sales and other such issues. EA screwed them over, its what EA does.

Oddworld was popular with the average intelligent gamer, but gone are the days where video-games made you part of an exclusive club of isolative geniuses. Now the bulk of gamers are made up of the Halo and Madden fan, whose intelligence barely exceeds that of a carrot - their taste is no better.

Squeek, from what I understand, is a character Lorne developed before Abe or Munch and he had planned to introduce him sometime later in the franchise.

If OWI wants to be noticed, they should make Munch's Exoddus. The story will somehow involve the original Munch story and Munch taking the Gabbiar to be fertilised. They will make millions and have enough to make Squeek and re-hire all the old staff. Oddness will rule once again.

i always thought of squeek as being a Rat seen as how lorne said that he would be a species overlooked in earlier games and the name squeek makes me thinke he could be a rat.

Not exactly, Abe was probably created first. Squeek was simply the first character Lorne told Sherry about to convince her to start OWI

For one thing, do you really think that the sequel to a game that wasn't very popular is likely to be published? And if it's published, do you think it's going to be noticed/recognised in the gaming landscape as it is today? And, leaving aside all that, how do you think they'll make the game without a staff?

EA may be evil, but most of their games get good scores. I was referring to Rocky Balboa the character, rather than Rocky the film franchise (The way he keeps getting back up and fighting with all of his might). I agree that Munch's Exoddus isn't that likely, but I do think that a new Oddworld game is in the works. Whether it's a small downloadable title or a full retail is up to them.

Maybe MO would have been more popular if they didn't have to cut ALL the good bits.
