Tomorrow is the 4th of July. Independence Day. Anniversary of the dawn of a nation. What are your plans (assuming you are cool enough to live in the U.S.)?

I'm not celebrating independence day per se, but I am celebrating finishing the restoration on a friend's dad's Jaguar. I just happen to be delivering it to his July 4th celebration, to which I've been invited.

Fireworks are boring.

Oh, my. I didn't realize. I'll just go throw out the 100 plus dollars worth that I bought.

My Dad's in the USA at the moment. He left this morning... so he's probably not there yet. In any case, it's likely he won't be doing much tomorrow, even with his Cowboy friends out there.
However, the 5th July is the Isle of Man's national day, so I will be going to the fair to ride on merry go rounds and buy ice cream! :tard:

I won't pay any attention to the new laws being passed, which is the actual reason we have the day off...

I plan on getting remarkably drunk and having too many Fireworks for the occasion on hand.

I didn't get to celebrate Canada day since I was working.

I'll wager its different where you live but here in Nevada, the brush will catch fire just because it feels like it.

When I was a kid we had a tradition of driving up to Virginia City to watch the fireworks display. Off would go one round- then the firetrucks would put out the blazes. Off went another round, then the firetrucks would put out yet another blaze.

I can't remember how many times the old cemetery burned.

Do the families get a retroactive discount if their loved ones are cremated after internment?

We Europeans don't celebrate such days. 12th of July has some significance, which my ilk finds rather...ugh.

It's the same way in the California desert, too. Where I used to live was really prone to fire, they'd fine you if you had too many dry weeds in your yard. Fireworks were banned but people still used them because people are stupid.

Never liked fireworks, personally. They spook my dog :\ In anycase, we don't celebrate Independence Day because it's also my brother's birthday and that takes priority.
