The most you've put into a single game

Specifically, time. Did you go the extra mile to complete the "After the End" Segment? Did you earn every special Weapon/Armor/Gun/Badge for killing one of every enemy with every single weapon?

(I'm gonna say 'chips' a lot here. Chips are like single-use weapons or items for battles. Think of them as "cards" for you TCG players.)
I've currently got roughly 41 hours in Megaman Battle Network 3. The game takes maybe 20-25 hours to beat the story mode. After that, there are an assortment of Secret Areas, Specialty item requirements, Virus Breeding (Yup), Chip Gathering (200 Standard Chips scattered across 31 Internet Areas/Networks, another TON of Mega chips, 5 Giga Chips (The rarest kind, you can only have one of them in your folder of 30 at a time, with the Second to last Unlockable being a Program that allows you to carry 2) and 31 Program Advances (Chip combos). I have 162, 39, 1 and 19 respectively.

More things I have to do:
Gather 300 Bugfrags, the 'rare' currency. 200 of them will get you the only non-boss related Giga Chip, the only one I have. You need to proceed to the 3rd (and last) secret area. You can get Bugfrags in 10 piece increments at a time from a specific boss fight, but you have to kill him with perfect timing or it doesn't work. You can fight him as often as you can but 1 in 5 times you won't counterkill him and thus miss the chance at the Bugfrags.

Get the last 38 Standard Chips. Fuuuuuck that.

Finish every Job request to get the (Optional) HP+500 Program. I won't use it but I'll end up getting it anyway.

Get the rest of the Megachips, there are 5 Megachips per each Boss (with 2 exclusions). You must beat everything to unlock them. This excludes the non-summoning Megachips. Not sure how many more of those I need.

Get the other 4 Giga Chips.

Get a copy of the "Blue" version which is considered better, Trade all of my good chips over, and start from the beginning. This will require the purchase of an old fashioned GBA Link cable and a very awkward 20 Minutes at my friend Jordan's house as I use his old GBA's to transfer the data.

As I may have said, I go apeshit for megaman.

This is the longest Bonus area of any of the Megaman games, and it might lead you to maybe 50 hours clocked. There are people with roughly 100 hours put into it, though.

I never do that shit.

Wings of Fire 05-31-2009 06:36 PM

On last check my WOW clock was at 80 days.

My Pokemon Platinum clock is at 125 hours, reasonably sure that Coliseum and Silver were at least double that.

I never do that shit.

This is the first time I've consistently bothered with it. Usually I give up.

I've recently stopped using X-fire since I found it did indeed cause many of the bugs in and out of games. However in the time that I did use it (which has been for about the last four years) I've logged time for pretty much every game I played in that period. The breakdown:

10. The Sims 2: Free Time - 49 hours
9. C&C 3: Tiberium Wars - 62 hours
8. NfS: Most Wanted - 72 hours
7. The Sims 2 - Bon Voyage - 73 hours
6. Left 4 Dead - 95 hours
5. Partypoker - 98 hours (seeing this in my top ten surprised me O_o)
4. Battlefield 2142 - 105 hours
3. Simcity 4 - 118 hours

And here come the two extreme:

2. Eve Online - 855 hours (35 full days)
1. Battlefield 2 - 1,102 hours (45 full days)

With the top 2 alone I've wasted almost 3 complete months of my life... jezus christ O_o.

And that does not account for console games, other games in that list and games like C&C Renegade which would no doubt rank somewhere in the 1000+ hours as well.

As for specific ingame stuff, I've been busy flag hunting in Assassins Creed which takes quite some time. In BF2 I've always been busy making time for medals and other nifty things.

Probably Pokemon Yellow, at least if it's as long as I remember it being.

Daxter King 06-01-2009 06:06 PM

I've played 4100 games in Halo 3.

moxco 06-01-2009 07:18 PM

I've done every single quest in oblivion except for three (Stupid bugs!). I really must download the unoffial patch.

Slog Bait 06-01-2009 08:30 PM

In poke'mon Fire Red, it only took me about 300 hours to get every poke'mon and train them to level 100 each, half the time for Emerald seeing how I had all of them on Fire Red and you can easily just transfer from one game to another. Never got to finishing the other games, didn't have a cable link or spare gameboy for gameboy color games, and the rest of them bored me too much to want to actually get through it. I refused to get any further than the poke'mon league in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum because they sucked that bad. Can't wait for Soul Silver and Heart Gold versions though.

If you're talking about time for actually playing the game, despite beating it numerous times, Oddworld definately tops, seeing as I've played it non-stop since I was about 4ish or so. :tard:

Now, as for actually trying to beat a game and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't, the first Rayman game took me YEARS to beat. No, really, we got it when it first came out and ever since I had been trying to beat that game like crazy, then I finally beat it and shit was I disappointed. Rayman games are great and all that, and really fun to play, but when you finish it it's pretty frusterating getting such a crappy ass ending.

The majority of other games I've played on average take me about 3 days tops to beat all the way through and 100% on everything.

I never thought about it this way, but I suppose this is exactly what I mean.

ArtemisPanthar 06-02-2009 05:06 PM

I usually get burnt out while trying for full completion with games and stop about 3/4 of the way through. The only game I really fully completed was "Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando". For the sole reason that we lived in a hotel for a few months and that was the only game not in storage.

Although if you meant which games you're played over and over again, I've played most of the Silent Hill games more times than I can count. Specifically 2 and 3, since 1 stymies me with its tank control and 4 is a pain in the ass. The newer ones just aren't as interesting and I'm not driven to replay them as much.

drag0nbane442 06-04-2009 03:25 PM

I always get everything in games. Unless I really hate a game.

Stuv 06-18-2009 11:19 AM

Do MMO's count in this? Because I dunno seems a little different than other games well anyway... I spent about 100+ hours on Paper Mario: The Thousand year door... I don't remember exact numbers because I haven't played it in a while.

I think I have about 27 days played on WoW.

The game I've spent the most time on is Maplestory... but it doesn't have a way to see how much you have played so... theres no way of telling but I know it's waaaaaay too much.

Jordan 06-18-2009 11:54 AM

I played that for about two years and quit. It's addicting.

OANST 06-19-2009 01:10 PM

I think I put about seventy hours into Wind Waker. I loved that fucking game.

UnknownSlig 06-19-2009 01:27 PM

The roses thing on We Love Katamari, attempting to get all the pokemon in the third generation which required pretty much ALL the games released on the GBA and two on the Gamecube, All the damn mini games in Final Fantasy 10 to get the Legendary weapons, Donkey Kong 64...just Donkey Kong 64, Getting everything in all three of the original Spyro games, and finally exploring almost all of Morrowind before my goddamn Xbox broke only a few months later thus killing all that effort -_-

Phylum 06-23-2009 01:09 AM

I finished Kingdom Hearts 2 100% a year ago. 60-something hours. I want Final Mix+ now so I can do it all again, but better.

Kirby and the amazing mirror took forever to visit EVERY SINGLE ROOM! The last treasure was in the last room I looked in, the only room IN THE GAME I hadn't visited.

Other than that, exactly the same as ArtemisPanthar. Loads of 3/4 finished games

Leto 06-25-2009 03:02 AM

morrowind. i aced that bitch. vanilla morrwind, i had a fully furbished house (ie i placed all my awesome shit on tables, carefully categorized and things) with my overflow loot bag having it's own notoriously long loading time.

Crashpunk 06-27-2009 12:08 PM

I spent 14 hours straght on Ratchet and Clank 3 on PS2 and did it 100%
My eyes were horrid.

The most i put in a game was my first ever pokemon file (Gold) was about 500 play time, i had eveything.

Definately spent hours on end with MMO's. I would leave my character on fish mode all day while I was at school. I made so much fake money!

Everyone says WoW is the most addictive MMO of them all, but I couldn't get into it as much as other MMO's. Monthly fee could be the reason why.

Slog Bait 07-12-2009 06:04 PM

I preferred Ragnarok over WoW when it comes to MMO's. They both suck either way in my opinion.

Mac Sirloin 07-12-2009 07:59 PM

Ragnarok had the Brazilians you could make fun of, though.

This. I had my Hlaalu mansion decked out with various awesome but useless magical items and even slaughtered the Dren plantation, sans the slaves, and made a small shrine to the various Dagothi artifacts I had collected, including Wraithguard, Sunder, and Keening.

THEN I got myself a vacation home in Mournhold with even more cool looking junk.

THEN my mansion on Solstheim had Hircine's Spear and shit, but by that point I was a werewolf so I didn't give a shit.

Then I realized I'd never earn those countless weeks, even months, back. Totally worth it.

Also, the Civilization games. Especially fucking Alpha Centauri. Goddamn.

I love my PC.

Hobo 07-13-2009 10:36 AM

I'm at about 97% on Saints Row 2 atm. No expansions though.

NERANO MANOR MOTHERFUCKER

...though hlaalu manor had wae prettier lights and shit. I collected those blue lamps and adorned them around my palace in the vain hopes of emulating hlaalu manor's most exquisite lighting conditions.

each mofokin table had it own theme, with everything carefully placed and sheyt. i also took that house in balmora near cauis cosades that you can get into from a latch on the roof, that was my soul gem house. YEAH BOYIE, SOUL GEM HOUSE, YOU READ RIGHT.

and I totally had that house in Mournhold where you kill that wizard guy who materializes in the middle of the marketplace and attacks yall. I made little beds for my packrats.

so many memories and wasted hours on this game.

you're rly my official owf bum partner k.

Anonyman! 07-14-2009 08:59 PM

Okey dokey.

Also, I soul trapped the fuck out of Almalexia and Vivec and used that shit to make game breaking equipment. Aka "THE SPEAR OF ANAL IMPALEMENT" and "THE SKIRT OF ETERNAL COCKBLOCKAGE."

Bar none, the Telvanni Tower was the best. But fucking mages were broken so I was all :(:(:(:(:(:(

Havoc 07-20-2009 04:37 AM

Goddamn I still can't believe how fucking ugly that game is .

Wings of Fire 07-20-2009 08:06 AM

I have all the settings turned down to nothing, my pc is probably the worst thing ever.

Venks 07-29-2009 08:33 AM
