End of school countdown!
 

Yay theres only around 5 days of school left! but then I have to go to alot of summer camps, which isn't bad..... except for that one camp..... Are any of yall going to camps?

Im confused, the title implies its about the end of school, but the OP diverts the topic to talking about camps.



Fastest derail ever.

I run a camp. It's the same kind that was re-invented by my forbears at the turn of the century. The difference is that I'm less discriminatory: anyone can join.

Well, I'm in college at the moment on a system where I don't get any vacations (theoretically, I could take a month off but the Financial Aid folks seem to dislike that).

I've only been to one summer camp in my life and it was really more like "summer daycare". It was pretty OK, although all I really remember about it is that there was this fat kid who always talked about South Park, legos, and vaginas. All the damn time.

I still have to do:

Two days of Baking School and my culminating activity, a 3 hour long test on my Apple-Pie baking effectiveness.

Several more weeks of co-op work at the St. Vincent De Paul (I enjoy my work there quite a bit).

1 or 2 quarters of a Math Course.
End of school? Pfeh.

I don't even know how long I have left at school. I know it's more then 5 days, though.

I'm in week 5 at the moment. Waiting for the end of school just to get away from my french teacher.

I've been on 'holiday' for the last six and a half months. Hopefully I'll be starting uni again in the next week or so.

I finished lessons on the 22nd of may, i now only have to go for exams.

I am therefore a superior being.

Actually, both my nephews are already off. They win.

Curses, foiled again.

I have three exams in the next three weeks, then I’m off for summer. Summer meaning ‘that time when I have to study to pass my resits because I’m a dumbass who can’t pass any year first time round’.

Never been to any child-based camp, summer or otherwise.

I have about 6 weeks left of school. Whoop-de-doo.

I've got about 4 more weeks to go.

3 weeks of exams now and again, then collage after holidays

i used to make violent cartoons about my french teacher when i was at school. i lost all of them though.

We hand in our project tomorro, and will have exams on 15th of june ^^ N thats it....

I will finish at 11/06... I hate this school.

Is it just England which now has the rule coming into effect saying that you HAVE to go to a college , sixth form or apprenticeship after you leave school?

I went to camp and it was fun. I do not go to school anymore and therefore I win over everyone who isn't Nate.

yup i think so, its not that bad though, you get an A-level, EMA and a free laptop instead of a minimum wage job so im not complaining.

You guys get free laptops for going to college!!!!!! wish the U.S. did that :fuzsad: also I'm not required to go to college, but I am going because I want to and it will help get me a good job...... Besides If I didn't go to college I'd probably have to go back to the school and work there as a janitor. By the way I'm not even close to college yet.

I've got about half a year to go. But it's the final year, so old about half of that will matter.

Well I'm already on a short holiday lasting a week, but I still have 6 weeks till the main holiday so I'm further than 5 days. At least most of the shitty exams and lots of coursework have been done...for now.

I think they're doing that for the current Year 8s and below? It's a good thing, stops loads of chavs just leaving school and sitting at home for the rest of their life without even trying to do anything for themselves. Will probably cut down on the Jeremy Kyle shows too. Thank god.

It's kinda weird how some of us only have about less than a year left of school 'till sixth form/college/whatever. It goes way too fast.

I didn’t get a free laptop for going to sixth form/university. Sounds like some lame attempt to push people through some statistics machines to pretend the pathetic education budget is producing an impressive academic yield. Cunts.

yes well you only get EMA if you actually get to collage on time, if your late like 2 times in a week you wont get it, so really im fu*ked. and not everywhere gets a laptop, Leeds technology collage dosent but Art & design does :\

Oh EMA is a good idea. I needed it. And in fact free laptops is a good idea. But forcing everyone into higher education? Sounds like a poor solution for some good and some dodgy intentions.

I think it's forcing them to go into college, sixth form or an apprenticeship. Meaning you can't simply walk out of school and start working. Or as Jordan said; sitting at home for the rest of your life.

But there are many people in year eight and below in my school who wouldn't be suited for any college/sixth form, and i sure as hell wouldn't want them as my apprentice, so as for how that rule will make things turn out...your guess is as good as mine.

I guess it's sort of giving people the chance to make something of their lives, so they don't regret it later on. But I suppose if the person just wants to leave and start a job, I guess it should be their choice whether or not they want to stay on and do further education.

YAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! tomorrows the last day of school, for me..... but you know something that I think is really stupid, I have like 5 pages of homework due that day.
