Why did this forum degenerate into "4chan light" in only a year? Is it just that there was nothing from OWI to obsess over so you wanted something to fill the forum with? Or have you all gone batshit insane?

We have all gone batshit insane.

The lack of any substantial Oddworld news has been taking its toll on OWF’s moral integrity for several years. It just took a nosedive when the mods and admins stopped bothering to close decayed conversations and curtail the more carnal topics, partly because they were having so much fun taking part in them. The turning point probably came around the time of the Sex thread.

I'll be blunt, I lost intrest in Oddworld when I beat Stranger for the fifth time. So now I just post in OT because my heart simply isn't in it when I venture into GD.

And this place isn't even 4chan light. It's more like '4chan-light-watered-down-liposuction-cut-off-the-genitalia'

The main problem is the fact Oddworld Inhabitants are being very quiet at the moment and don't really give us things to talk about. So mods and admins tend to let more stuff happen and more topics open for the sake of keeping this place alive.

I'm not sure Alcar will get back to being a Nazi when Oddworld news are going to come back, and we get more then 2 new members a month, but I sure hope so.

To be honest, I don't see it. This place seems to be pretty content with what it is. Flame wars are gone. People are generally happy and just talk about what they are interested in. Which is sort of the point of a forum. It isn't as active as it used to be but it isn't like complete chaos is ripping through here.

This is just one of the "quiet periods" that owi put us through... personally, i think a good old interveiw about their current projects would be much appreciated.

And so we sit here quietly. patiently waiting for them to say somthing.

Also, for all the "no news" stuff, I point to Nate's interview. We found out more in that than we had since the release of SW.

The forum is as its people are. As older members are gradually leaving, so do their interests and tastes. As new members move in, their interests and tastes move in and they make threads and posts about them.

As far as I understand, Leto's been here a while. He made the sex thread.

This thread kind of ties into this, I guess. I found it while reading some of my old multi's posts. Weird thing is how we were fretting about not having enough members but had had 53 individual votes in the poll. We're lucky to get 20 now.

Apparently Alcar and the rest of the Axis of [insert adjective here] are content with the activity going on, so your opinion of it isn't going to change much as long as it's only you talking about it.

I think he's referring to the fact that before Max became an admin, myself, Alcar and Abe-Babe/Cloverfield changed our custom titles to 'Axis of Austral-Evil'.

I guess as long as the users are happy and have what they want then the mods and admins should be happy too...

But on the other hand we always hear the same few members, so it's hard to know if the current policy of the forums (let anything happen) pleases really everyone on this board.

Personally I'm not sure I'm happy to have this kind of "discussion" allowed on the forums

Oh yeah I do remember that now. I think I saw those titles during one of the times I popped in to lurk, which was twice or thrice over the years.

I've never been to 4chan or /b/ or what ever, but I have heard ( vastly exaggerated perhaps) comments made about it and if what people say are true...

While there is Child Porn on /b/ it's generally not rife. Not the hours I visited it anyway.

This seems like a job for good ol' DarKo. I've been here since the dawn of the deepthroat and I know that this place is not what it once used to be. Once Abe used to smile sitting on his pitty-looking horse-thingy but these days... well he just isn't the last hope of the Mudokons anymore so to speak. What we need here is something new and fresh, you know those apples sitting on top of the crown in the tree, those who sees the sun for just a few more minutes. I have an idea which I've stuck with for so many years now. A sort of backup plan that always has been ready to rock, ready to stand against those penis-threads that have haunted us for several decades now.
