Abe's oddysee VS Abe's exoddus
what's the best and why?
I prefer abe's exoddus because it is most longer an variuous than Abe's oddysee |
Well, I can't remember much of Abe's Exoddus (I've only played it once) so I'm going to go with Abe's Oddysee. I don't really have a reason, only that I just like it more.

Simplified answers:
The lazy: Quicksave... ;; The geek: Omfg they can fly!!1! The kid: Lol mindcontrol@f4rts.. Heh funne.. The truckdriver: Mayhem time! The deaf: Finally I can laugh at the blind. ...and so on. The hardcore fan: There is only one Oddworld that is the real Oddworld. Hmpf, stupid question. |
:
That being said I like AO better, not because it was 'More Odd' but because I feel that the atmospherics and dynamics were better. AE was pretty damn good though, it's a close call. |
Haha you guys are hilarious... you have never heard of humor at all? xDDDDDDD

Abe's Exoddus is better.
|
None of them are the best, they both have good and bad traits. I like AE more than AO, as it was the first Oddworld game I played.
|
Though I did adore Abes Exodus for all the new things it brought to the table, I think it dragged on a little and there were too many of those "complete x number of challenges behind doors to proceed".
Abes Oddysee also did a better job of portaying the "killing animals is bad" message. So, I suppose I have to go with Oddysee. But only just, and there are things that Exodus does far better. Also, somebody please talk to DarKo before his trolling gets out of hand. Jeez, if you have to proclaim yourself funny, you're clearly not funny... |
I like how AE has more stuff and is alot longer but I'll go with AO.
I love the levels and how the music goes really well with them all. The atmosphere, the darkness to it and such. |
Well what can I say that hasn't been said? AO has a more emotional feel, while AE has more gameplay. Examples: The Stockyards and Scrabania, Quicksave and the All'a Ya.:D
I have a very soft spot for AO though. If you knew my life's story (A long story that I don't have to tell.) you'd know why. That's why I prefer AO.:D |

You have denial issues my friend.

Let's be nice people. Everyone on the internet has examples of failed attempts at humour. It's a tradition or old charter. Or something.
And the more you call him a troll, the more likely you'll turn him in to one. It's a damn self-fulfilling prophecy. |
Abe's Oddysee, hands down. I've said this SO many times before, but while Abe's Exoddus is a great game, it cannot ever compare with the atmosphere in AO. Yes, AE had more stuff in it...but if you really think about it, all that stuff does is distract you from what the game is really about, and the message gets kinda lost. I guess the more simplified gameplay in AO brings out the theme of the game more.
And also: :

It's been too long since I actually played them so:
Ambiance => Abe's Oddysee GamePlay => Abe's Exoddus so no real favourite there |
I think that AE was better than AO because of all its features, but I was upset about the removal of Elum, and the fact that the special power that you get after doing the whole Mudomo and Mundachee Vaults thing is the ability to heal Mudokons from brew. I would've liked to see something like the ability to stay Shrykull and like, move around as him or something... But whatever; minor setbacks. AE was better than AO. In my opinion of course.

That wouldn't be the same would it?
You can't really shoot out beams of electricity with the invincibility cheat. |
Theres so many things I like about both but i'd have to say I like AE best
(These arn't in any sort of order, All randomly put in) The 10 things that made AE better was: 1. It was a bit more challenging (especially in secret areas) 2. The higher quality sounds and music 3. New Characters (especially the flying slig) 4. Posession of your own farts (WHAT AN AWESOME IDEA!!!) 5. The ability to save anywhere 6. Posession of Glukkons (finally get to take them down my way) 7. Fleeches (add's complete chaos to the areas in the game) 8. More usage of Shrykull than in AO 9. Teleporters (great idea and work with the games challenging mazes very well) 10. Mudokon's can have emotions and illness BUT! theres 10 thing that either annoy me or just arn't good: 1. Blind Mudokons (they are... annoying as HELL!) 2. Wildlife areas arn't as detailed as the ones in AO 3. Some areas are just far too empty or pointless (basically just a whole area with no action or anything happening) eg. Alot of Bone Werkz... 4. Slurgs (i know this might be a stupid thing to say but seriously: they have no purpose in the game except to get flattened, eaten or killed in some other form) 5. No red ring powers (it was good but not as fun as Shrykull but I liked how fast everything exploded except the lag) 6. Areas that involved alot of annoying, pointless movement (like in the mines, where you have to roll through all the tunnels that repedatively zig zag down. 7. not having enough grenade machines (This is probably one of the things that made AO good for me and the grenades made things fun, but I guess it's better without them to add more of a challenge) 8. Minecars (I still say they are fun to use but it also takes the challenge from the game at some areas. you can pretty much flatten anything without a care and get by) 9. creature spawners (think about it, would you wanna be inside one of those for god knows how long and only come out when your called apon? although it does add more challenge) 10. Posession (The thing that really confused me is, Why couldn't abe mind contol Fleeches or Slogs? I know that would remove the challenge of the game but I've heard that it's harder for abe to mind control smarter beings like Glukkons. If abe can't mind control Slogs or Fleeches, they must be really smart...) Anyway, I could go on and on but I wanted to keep things short and simple. This is all my opinion anyway, But I still think that AE is the best Abe's Exoddus: 9/10 Abe's Oddyssey: 7.5/10 Munch's Oddyssey: 4/10 Strangers Wrath: ?/10 (havn't played it yet) |
As a kid I preferred Abe's Exoddus, but these days I prefer Abe's Oddysee because of the reasons stated above and also for a large part because in AO you really feel like the underdog, the skinny guy that everyone tries to eat. In Exoddus, you can posess Paramites and Scrabs and order Sligs around, which is very cool, but it also takes away their creepiness and mystery. In short, I think you're too powerful in AE, you don't have to fear everything you see like in AO, what I think made that game unique. (among other things of course.)
|
How dare you ask to compare these games? :-D
...But, I think Abe's Exoddus, because there is more to play. |
I think AO is one of the best game I've ever played, for many reason!! First I discover the oddworld universe through this one. In the french version abe's voice in AE is very very bad. I think the music in AO is amazing (free-fire zone, scrabania...). And I don't like much when Abe is in Rupture Farms or industrial facilities. In AO there's just Rupture Farms. And Scrabania, Paramonia and Monsaic Lines are so amazing!!!! I like Big Face too.
Nevertheless, in AO there's not the quicksave, which is bad. But in AO you find the deep and mysterious atmosphere of the Oddworld's origin. |
Oddysee.
Exoddus was too easy. Sure it was fun to quicksave, kill every mudukon in the area with a slig, quickload and save them all(:D) but quicksave really took something out of the game(in my opinion). It was too comical as well. |
AE, It was far longer, funnier and I love the farts. It had new characters like the fleech and flying slig. It was also the first Oddworld game I played.
|
I've only played AO, but I love the dark atmosphere, the rythmes and more serious tone of AO, that is absent from the games after it.
Going to get AE on steam if I have any internet downloadings left after 60 days because ever since I moved I'm on prepaid untill I get back again, which sucks because I have to watch everything I do. |

5 words: the magog on the march:D. |

Yer, i love watching those videos. LOL! |
Abe's Oddysee :d Just the feel of being this captured being that discovers the tales about the creatures on his world, thats just awesome and till now there hasnt been a single game that had a better story in my opinion

well hi there, i newbie.
my favourite game of the oddworld series is definitely Abe's Exxodus. It's much larger than AO, and it seems to me more well-engineered. Especially the artwork and the sound/music. ellen meijers-gabriel is a genius! <--- but this includes AO too. Favourite part in AE is Scrabania. wonderfull backround and lightning. still influences me in drawing^^. |
I'll just say that I like the overall story of Abe's Oddysee more, but prefer the gameplay of Abe's Exxodus. But story usually wins over gameplay for me, so I guess I'll have to go with Abe's Oddysee.
|
I like both games equally. In my point the bizzare atmosphere is stronger in Abe's Oddysee and the storyline itself is better. But in Exoddus there are some brilliantly designed locations as Bonewerkz and Slig Barracks or FeeCo. And the idea of MOM news was great!

I think Abe's Oddysee is better, like my mates say it explains the story that he's walking around. Abe's Exoddus has weird bugs (well Abe's Oddysee too, but not much as Abe's Exoddus), and was a bit long and repetitive for me.
Abe's Oddysee was the first PlayStation game I got, and I have it here, I can't play it on my PS2 but I made a digital copy (I beated the game with my copy in emulator). When I got the game when I was a child I got really surprised. The incredible graphics for that time were amazing, and I really liked the variety of scenarios, like RuptureFarms, and then the wild-life of Scrabs and Paramites, and don't forget Elum. That was beatiful, and the music too. And the story is just perfect, instead of Abe's Exoddus.. Well, it's the same thing again. I think that's why I say Abe's Oddysee is better. I get surprised with it when I was a child, and it went down to my heart. It's my favourite game, and for me it's the best game ever made. |
AO hands down. AO is a very original game and as far as I'm concerned AE has a bullsh*t story. It's hard to explain but there's this certain atmosphere in AO which is truly unique to AO.

no it dosen't.:fuzmad:

exoddus,only because of the quicksave...
