Yep this is definately one of those wtf moments. I see why it's in Oddworld help. Ghost if you listen it's the same music from the opening screen of AO and AE. But I think it's easier to hear in AO.

Yes, I hear it. The little atmospheric music swells that play during the "Oddworld Inhabitants presents an ALIVE experience" sequences at the beginning of the first three games.

jokes Maybe the authors of the musics just liscened it for other producers, maybe they don't even know what Oddworld is. Anyways, I have know idea how you have found this, but good job! |

I think some of Oddworld audios are taken from many places, because when I was playing the video game 'Crash Bandicoot 2' I found a monster (rat) which has a Scrab sound... yes THAT Scrab :fuzconf:

I stand by what I said. I’ve played the game myself, many times over many years.

The same bit continues and does its own thing, but the first few are identical in both the instruments and notes played. I even played it next to my copy of MO, and the similarity is astonishing.

This company ripped some Microsoft music off a game and used it on an add abusing Microsoft. That's what I find stupid.
If your wondering how I came across that it was nothing exiting. My freind told me about this and the add was under 'Related Videos' so I wachted it. |

You often get sounds used over and over for everything. Like sheep in a cartoon may sound like the ones from Worms.

To me it does sound like they've ripped off the Oddworld theme. It's almost identical for those few seconds. They probably think that the music is in the public domain (i.e. out of copyright). |
I noticed the Scrab noise too Friendly Slig I was like "yeah that rat sounds the same as a Scrab!" :o

Is this not oddworld music? I thought it was exactly the same! It also appears in several parts of AE as well as MO and AO. The video worried me, seriously, what kind of bonkers person would do this? I know it was funny and all, but still...
And Why is this in oddworld help? as said earlier by ghost, although i don't believe he was answered. |

Your average sound design guy won't go out and record the sound of doors slamming and alien creatures farting. He'll buy CDs that have the sound effects already made and available for use.
