hey i realy enjoy anime and manga and i wanted to know what series and episodes other people like because i am running out of things to watch and read :P

I like anime. It's pretty lame how they're never showed anymore. I liked Dragon Ball Z the most.

Dragonball Z and GT are pretty much the only anime series I like and have watched from start to finish. I guess I watched Pokemon when I was a kid...

I don't understand how someone can like the entire genre. I mean I like DBZ but I have absolutely no interest in the rest of the anime genre because it's much of the same done with different stories. As an artform anime is pretty impressive, not everyone can draw like that, but storywise a lot of it is the same.

I like specific series, rather than lumping together so many simply due to the language and artistic style. I did used to watch Monster Rancher as a kid, and recently I couldn't take my eyes off of Club-to-death Angel purely because it was so bizarre. It seemed to have no target audience, combining innocuous (and not-so innocuous) young teen romance, and repeated bloody beheadings of the main character via an enchanted spikey club.

It would depend what kind of genre you wanted.

Personally I bum Fushigi Yuugi but that's because I'm a girl and abit sad like that. But my [horrible :p] boyfriend recently got me Battle Royale, which is a shonen manga, and it's actually quite good. Despite my reservations about the art work.

Most of the girly mangas are all the same though, girl meets boy, girl loves boy, boy's a dickhead; that sort of thing. But I like it so... Meh.

You've got to admit that manga artists are very talented.

Dragonball Z is a whole other matter though... :|

I dislike anime/manga because the style annoys me, and therefore I don't watch it.

Manga?!?! ah ah ah, I think manga are very stupid, excpet some anime... Now I'm watching DBZ or Naruto (in Italy there are these animes in TV), otherwise...
When DBZ will finish I will not watch more anime.

1. The Art style is just annoying ond over used
2. Its badly dubbed
3. The faces are annoying
4. They use genric annoying queer american sound alike accents
5. The porn is shit
6. and I generally dislike it

o3o. I enjoy reading manga when I have a chance to, but when it comes to anime I get very very picky. One particular anime that I hate with the passion is Naruto (Narutards x3). I feel so unclean when I watch five seconds of it. One anime that I do enjoy watching is Paranoia agent.

I suppose I like shows that interest me, not just randomly attaching myself to a genre. Same with music, I like songs, not artists.

The thing I HATE about Anime is the fans. Hell, the only group of fans of ANYTHING I like was for Transformers, but even then, a good half of them are screwed up over-serious fuckers. The only ones I hung out with are the ones who can get that it's just a show. Wooo.

At any rate, my fave Anime?

Lucky Star: It's based off a comic strip, and the whole show is basically a parody, from the OP to the credits.

Sky Girls: It's Mecha, interesting Mecha, and the characters are interesting. Plus, the theme music has hilariously bad Engrish. "Pre-et-et-et-y SKY GIRL!!! 2,1,2,2!!!"

Haruhi: Awesome show, insane and creepy, yet outwardly fun.

I don't like Naruto but I love the theme song. It is the funniest damn thing I have ever heard in my life. It's 90 percent japanese with a few phrases in english thrown in. For instance: "We are fighting dreamers" and "Right here, right now. Bang!"

So damn funny.

A guy once leant me his copy of Ghost in the Shell, he was into all this sort of stuff. I found it convoluted and boring, if pretty to look at.

And also quite recently a gurlfriend basically forced (my god) me to watch an ep of some series... Deathnote? This guy finds a book and writes names in it and then they die. We concurred that I am the spitting image of this bloke. Pity it was a load of crap.

He's so cute! And, actually, aside from the rockin' beige/stone jacket, I practically have that getup in the wardrobe. Hmm. And my hair is of sufficient length to get that more emo, dramatic look. Mmmmm. If only I could be arsed to stylise! Hmmmmmmmm.

I watched Ghost in the Shell when I was about 13 and found it utterly incomprehensible. I had no idea what was going on.

Yeah, true. Didn't that robot chick die and then she was a small girl or something? Fuck, I don't know.

It was v. confusing. I do however remember a robot blowing up stone pillars and shit.

Yeah. That was cool.

The only anime I see are showed on the cartoon network, and that's when I'm watching a cable tv, which I don't own.
Other than pokemon and dragon ball Z, although I got realy sick of DBZ when I started watching far too late, so I didn't get any of the story, and the fight scenes that took 3-5 episodes realy annoyed me.
The early episodes of pokemon were ok, but I was a kid then, now they're just...
I think the thing I'm not used to in anime is the cliffhangers, I know most shows have them, but I feel they aren't handled well at all in the anime shows I have seen.
The thing about manga for me is that it can be interesting to look at, with the cute characters who don't look asian at all, but are supposed to be, and how they tear each other appart, and how there is at least one absurd person, or animal/ alien/ monster/ object that can talk,. For me, it's interesting to understand the show, and fun to watch once in a while, but tedius to follow.
