E3 2007! AWESOME TO THE MAX!!!!!!
Was anyone else extremely disapointed by the lack of anything new or interesting this year? There were some pretty games but I didn't see a single game that I felt I must have that I hadn't seen at least a little of at the last
E3. Best thing I saw= Some weird platformer for the ps3 where you create the levels and characters yourself. Biggest disapointment= Double Fine didn't announce or show a single thing. |
would that platformer be Little big world per chance?
|
Can't remember the name but that sounds right.
|
i sadly didn't get to go to E3 so what games were there?
|
I didn't go either. I'm just going by the crappy coverage that G4 gave it.
|
what about assains creed?
That looks bloody amazing! i can't wait to get it |
It looks very good, I agree. But I saw that last year.
|
Anything about metal gear solid 4
|
Again, saw it last year. And they didn't even show any gameplay. Just an obnoxiously long trailer.
|
I don't really give too much damn about E3. I get to know the games over the internet or gaming magazines. No need to go to the expo to see it.
|
My point is that the games shown at the expo are going to be the new games coming out in the next couple of years. And the pickings are rather sparse.
|
OANST is right, just about everygame looked great, but nothing new. What about a Halo spin off, in which you must battle the Covenant with an assortment of minigames? Or a Viva Pinata in which the pinatas can go crazy and kill and/or rape others and you must deal with them?
Also, Nintendo is being fucking retarded. Fitness? My top 5 games of which I am looking forward to. 1.Too Human-360 2.Mass Effect-360 3.Mercs 2-360 4.Turok-360 5.CoD4-360 I was really disappointed with no Banjo Kazooie 3 news. |
What did you expect? They announced it some months ago E3 was going to be different.
Maybe it's better to let developpers focus on the game rather to make them rush some demonstration when the game is far from finished... |
There should be at least a little demonstration...
But nothing THAT much. Just enough to show what the game looks like. Look what they did with GTA4. No info at all. People have to extract features from trailers. Most of them are positively untrue. Well, at least it's fun... to me. |
:
Again, I am not disapointed by the changes to the expo. Just the games that were at the expo. |
I think developers have decided that E3 is no longer the right place to announce games. There were a few good ones announced at GDC this year, LittleBigWorld among them. Speaking of which; that game almost makes me want to buy a PS3 just to play it alone.
The other game I've found out more about, thought I don't know if it was shown at E3 or just the information came out around the same time, was Mushroom Men, which sounds even more awesome that I initially thought. Plus it's going to be on DS, which is good-O for me. It's about all the funguses on planet earth becoming self-aware and waging war on each other under humanity's collective noses. |
I also am interested in Mushroom Men.
|
Has any gameplay footage been put out? I saw in in a magazine and it does look interesting.
|
I don't really follow E3, but the surplus of news on CoD4 has made me exceedingly happy. Also, still waiting on the Orange Box. I assume that hasn't been delayed again...
I've heard so many good things about Little Big World, but one game just doesn't make me want to spend $500. Sorry, innovative game design. My wallet has failed me. Any news on a friggin' Spore release date? Anyone? |
:
It's ages off release - fall 2008. |
Not to the Xavier? :fuzconf:
Yum Yum, Assassins creed looks fantastic. |
Penis touchage!
|
Nintendo seem to e doing a strange thing by having loads of different motion sensing devices.
I bet the games don't work without them :( Nintendo you money grabbing bastards! |
1 Halo 3
2 Mass Effect 3 Bioshock 4 Fatal Inertia 5 Halo wars I was especially psyched by Fatal Inertia. It's like Need for Speed meets Quantum Redshift. |
:
I've only seen the trailers and a preview in a gaming magazine a long while ago. I still haven't checked out any newer info and I don't feel like it. So what is the new info about it? |

Hmm, Games?
1. Halo 3, looking like, well, Halo. It may not be revolutionary, but it's fun, and I'm buying it for story alone. 2. Halo Wars. Well, it's got Grunts, + I'm waiting to see if they'll manage to pull off the whole console RTS bizz. 3. Fable 2's Dog was pretty cool, wish the rest of the game was shown more tho. 4. Super Mario Galaxy is looking to be great fun, really enjoyable, + Sci Fi. 5. Well, Spore comes out upon my birthday period. PERFECT. <3 |
I'm still waiting for the gaming magazine I'm subscribed to to have E3 coverage, or they already had it and I somehow missed it. Anyway, I will return to you on that later...

|
At least they're trying to squeeze money out of you by providing something new, different and fun. Not Madden #1567.
|
I do think that Nintendo has what looks to be the most fun in the coming year. Microsoft is second but suffers from screwing 360 owners out of new Gears content.
|
Yeah, I was pissed when I heard they wont put it on 360. It'll probably arrive there eventually though.
|
What I want to know is why OANST didn't vote 'I want to touch Oanst's penis.'.
In other words, I payed absolutely no attention to E3 this year. Only games I'm even semi-interested in presently are Halo 3 (comes out on the birthday... zing) and Fable 2. |
OMG OMG OMG.
I was talking to this guy today about The Orange Box (due out Oct. 9, by the way), and he was saying how he was watching G4's E3 coverage, and Valve announced a game totally out of left field that went completely under the radar because no one had even heard of it. The game is called "Left For Dead." It's a class-based shooter... online... zombie game. Humans vs. Zombies in a survival match. Humans get whatever they can find in the environment, like power tools or a pistol hid under a mattress or something, but they gain access to more hardcore stuff (like machine guns) the longer they stay alive. If they die, then they don't get to use their particular character again; they have to wait until one of their teammates finds more survivors holed up in the wreckage, then they can respawn as a new survivor. Meanwhile, there are hordes of AI-controlled zombies chasing them. However, the other team gets to control one of several super-powerful mutated zombie classes, each with distinctive abilities. These are the ones I heard about:
Apparently, Valve showed it to this G4 schmuck at E3, and he was all like... "Do what now?" because he wasn't even expecting to be shown any footage or anything. Does anyone have anymore info on this?! |
Left 4 Dead, with a 4.
I'll at least hire it. Like the sound of the 'smoker zombie'. Edit: Just had to say, the Orange Box has the ugliest cover I've seen in a while. |

Ages ago? I'm always the last to find out about these things.
