Spider-man 3

Just watched it yesterday night. It was great and worth the money. Anyone else seen it?

snuzi 05-06-2007 06:27 AM

Shouldn't you have posted this in the "I Have Just Seen..." thread? That's pretty much the ultimate movie thread, you know.

Havoc 05-06-2007 06:30 AM

Just downloaded it just to have it in my collection, think I'll go see it in the theater tonight or something though.

Glukinator 05-06-2007 07:23 AM

Well, I don't mean to be critical, it had great action, but the plot sucked. When Parker started wearing the symbiot suit, instead of acting evil, he just acted stupid. They needed way more Venom and a much stronger, and bigger Venom. They killed him off way too quickly. Over all, it had great action and great special effects, but it could of been alot better.

ziggy 05-06-2007 08:40 AM

I just saw it. It was great, but I also think they killed venom off too quickly. It was a good plot, though, and a lot of stuff goes on in that movie. It's like 2 and a half hours long, but it doesn't seem like that when your watching it. The dark spiderman parts were ridiculous but frickin hilarious. The only thing I didn't like is I think they switched from different plots too fast. I know this is good sometimes and keeps the pace exciting, but I think they needed to focus on some things more and just sloooow down.

Havoc 05-06-2007 08:42 AM

Well you know thats what Spiderman is all about. Evil people everywhere, not a second rest for Spidey. You should have read the comics and seen the TV show, on bad guy was just defeated and the next one was already working on something new. At one point they all started to work together, it was amazing.

ziggy 05-06-2007 10:42 AM

Ya I guess, but do you guys know if it was the last spider-man movie????

But you have to admit that the way that he killed Venom off was awesome! I think he'll return, also. Does anyone know why he didn't like bell-like sounds?

SeaRex 05-06-2007 11:01 AM

The only part I liked about Spiderman 2 was the villain. I'm betting money that I'll feel the same way about SM3... when I actually get around to seeing it.

How the hell will he come back? Spidey blew him to bits! But it was cool how he killed Venom.

well as i think of myself as some sort of marvel master here is the reason:
BAsically for some sort of reason the symbiote's main weakness is sonic sound waves so when spidey is in the bell tower and it rings it has so much sonic energy it weaknesses the symbiote very much

It's something they somehow skipped in the movie. In the original comic I think Dr. Connor is more involved in the research and Peter himself discovers the symbiote was sensitive to sound long before he actually tried to get Venom off himself. The clock tower scene was the same except that Peter waited for the bell to go off in the comic instead of accidentally bumping into it.

I just came back from the theater and it was worth the money just like with the other two movies. Maybe a bit to much drama compared to the other two movies but good non the less.

I’m kind of spider maned out after the first 2. lol

OANST 05-06-2007 02:40 PM

Spiders have manes? Dear lord. Where have I been?

mitsur 05-06-2007 04:42 PM

I heard it was kinda lame, but I'm planning on seeing it, then complaining to my friends that they should have told me it was lame so I wouldn't waste money on it.

Spirrow 05-06-2007 06:27 PM

We'll probably see Carnage or Dr. Connors turn into the lizard in the next film.

Daxter King 05-06-2007 06:30 PM

I hear that Venom's part is short. :( I'm seeing it with my friends next Saturday.

ziggy 05-06-2007 09:56 PM

I also wish Venom's part in the latest movie was longer. But ya, if they have a next one is will probably have Carnage and/or the Lizard. Could someone tell what the deal is with Carnage? He has someone to do with Venom but I forgot.

skillyaslig 05-06-2007 10:24 PM

Well I think Venom is FANTASTIC! Not in the movie though..he shouldnt of died...cause if Carnage does show, who'll fight him? Spidey is kinda lame...

Strike Witch 05-07-2007 02:32 AM

I want the Spider-Bug, Lizard, and Mysterio.

Statikk HDM 05-07-2007 06:14 AM

I was freaking out over the casting and I was right on one count and wrong on the other count. Topher Grace was absolutely the wrong person to play the bodybuilding afficianado Eddie Brock. And the dialogue was wrong, totally wrong. Same voice, I instead of we? Total bullshit. Thomas Hayden Church carried his role like a champ, though. The only thing that made the film vaguely worth a damn. Peter Horton would make an awesome Carnage.

Havoc 05-07-2007 08:31 AM

I want the pat where Peter turns into a large spider and gets 6 arms, that part of Spiderman was ownage.

Cletus Kassaday was a serial killer infected by a bit of the Venom symbiote. He was a big part of the Spiderman franchise in the early to mid 90s and he caused an uneasy alliance to be formed between Venom and Spiderman to take him down. The story arc he is most well known for is Maximum Carnage.

IloveHammy! 05-07-2007 07:28 PM

Yep! I watched it lastnight (the 6th of May). I thought it was pretty cool. Harry was totally acting like a loser. Until the end that is, the I felt sorry for him. I sorta still like the 2nd movie. I thought Doc Ock was awesome. Kinda cute too. Yeah, I know, I'm a freak, I'm proud of it though!!! :cheer:

oh, ok thanks. He would be a good character for another movie definately

LadySlig 05-08-2007 12:01 AM

Yes....I love Venom though...He's cute, in a silly kind of way...

squeak117 05-08-2007 12:36 AM

*Caution* This post may contain spoilers.

I do think this movie was better than the previous two, but it really was just another Spider-man movie. And, in my opinion, Spider-man movies are classified as 'not bad, but not good either'.
I was truly annoyed that Venom was only apparent for a short time, and even more annoyed that every time he talked his face turned into Eric from That 70s Show. I wanted to hear more hissing!

The Sandman was awesome, but the way he comes to be just... didn't make any sense. I wasn't a reader of the comics so I don't know if that's how it happened... but what are the chances of him landing in that science sand pit or whatever that was... and if it was so scientific, why didn't it have any cameras? Also, you'd think there'd be a large difference between the matter of a pidgeon and a large escaped convict. I couldn't help but laugh at that whole part and take note to when he says 'i'm just unlucky'.

And then there's the part where Parker turns emo, then when he's not wearing the suit his eyeliner suddenly disappeared. Probably just symbolic but either way it didn't make sense.

Overall, apart from the annoyances above and more, it was a pretty enjoyable movie.

skillyaslig 05-08-2007 12:53 AM

I havent seen the movie...wanna though, I like Venom...What is he like in the movie?

Havoc 05-08-2007 09:06 AM

Emo Parker was hilarious. And the thing in the science pit is and always will be absolutely stupid. It's THE cheapest way of creating a bad guy.

Munch's Master 05-08-2007 10:30 AM

I have yet to see the film, but I want to. Mainly for Venom. I know he's only in it briefly but...still. He's my all-time favourite Spidey villain, followed by Carnage. What can I say, I really like the symbiotes.

Majic 05-08-2007 06:46 PM

My friend works at a nearby theater, so I got to go see it for free. But after seeing the movie, it's worth paying admission for, imo. The drama should've been spread out more and in smaller doses, and to repeat for the bajillionth time, Venom should've been around longer. Spiderman 3 has about the finesse of any other comic book movie, but is too slick and fun to pass up.

Spirrow 05-10-2007 02:17 PM

It's confusing how they say the sybiotes originally came from carnage. But apparently they're a parasite alien species.

This annoyed me. Not the fact that it was Eric from That 70's Show but the fact that it shown his face time and time again. I want to hear Venom talk not some punk kid who deserved what he got. I know the actor needs to get billing but it was stupid. Once or twice maybe, but not 4 or 5 times.

toxicity 05-10-2007 05:32 PM

Venom was pretty cool in the movie and, if they make more, I'm sure they'll find a way to either bring him back or introduce carnage.

I also thought that sandman was very well done. Even though the way he got his powers was corny, it was pretty interesting to see it happen in the movie.

We need mysterio for SM4.

skillyaslig 05-11-2007 02:32 AM

Yeah, isnt Mysterio that robot thing with that gold-fish bowl head, and green suit?

Facsimile 05-12-2007 09:09 PM

Sweet, I came in to see what people thought of the movie, to judge whether I should go. Within four posts spoilers ruined what I was most looking forward to. Thanks guys.

Statikk HDM 05-14-2007 06:48 AM

I tried not to. But I couldn't help it.

Alf Shall Rise 05-14-2007 05:03 PM

Woo-dog, I can't wait to see Spider Man 3! But I heard there were WAY too many love scenes.

speed the scrab 05-16-2007 07:42 AM

Plus they have turned spiderman into an angery goth.:fuzmad:
