My crazy morning(Gun threat)

So today seemed like any other day, I woke up a little early got already for school and got my second badge in Pokemon Pearl.
I went outside at 6:55 AM to wait at my bus stop with my sister, telling her we should try to get on the bus first so we don't end up stuck in the back.
We get on the bus no problem and slowly make our way to school.

For some reason when we arrived all the buses were there not letting off the kids, are bus joined them at the end of the line.
Nobody knows whats going on, but no one really plays it any mind thinking that its just a drill. Around 7:10 a teacher comes to our bus and tells us that the school is on external lock down, he says that we'll be let back into the school in about 15 minutes.

Around 7:25 a cop arrives and enters the school, everyone jokes him because of his short shorts. The Teacher never came back and were not being let into school some kids are starting to worry. Around 7:40 three cop cars arrive, everyone continues to get tense, but everyone starts freaking out when Channel 6 News and Channel 13 News arrives. Around 8:00 some girls on their cell phones tell us that a man is supposedly in our school with a gun.

Finally around 8:15 they start letting kids go into the school, were being watched by police who are making everyone enter through the gymnasium. Teachers around us tell all the kids on my bus to get onto the bleachers, as I'm about to get down teachers start calling all the boys to go into the next room, I wave goodbye to my sister and follow a line of guys to the next room.
In the room I see teachers and police officers taking students book bags and looking through them, shortly a blond teacher takes my bag and begins to look through it. She asks me, "Do you have a lighter?" To which I simply replied, "No." Once she finished looking through my bag I'm pushed towards the Principal of my school who has some weird baton thing that makes slight buzzy noises. My principal asks me to step forward then waves the baton around me checking both my sides. I'm then told to proceed to my 1A class, rather then head their I decide to sneak out of the school. I'm not sticking around when a an armed guy is on the loose.

I start walking around the school checking all the exits for a chance to escape, unfortunately most of them were being watched by teachers. Luckily the exit near the Gymnasium wasn't under watch so I attempted to flee through there, once I reached the track outside I saw a teacher waiting outside for escapees like me so I quickly went back into the school. I continued to check around the school, but every exit was being watched. I passed by my sister and told her that all the exits were being watched, she wanted to leave as badly as I did. When I went to the cafeteria exit I noticed that if I used the door closest to the vending machines the teacher couldn't see me. So very calmly I walked out the school towards the cars, in the distance I could see teachers and cops talking so I slowly walked towards the cars hoping they didn't see me and if the did I hoped they would assume I was a teacher. Once the cars blocked my view of them I sprinted across the parking lot and across the next street.

Though I was out of school I wasn't home free yet, I couldn't walk strait to my house because their were cops and teachers blockading the road. I walked down a unfamiliar street hoping to turn left eventually and start heading towards me house. Lamely the street just kept going and just then a Cop's siren went off... I couldn't let the cop see me. I ran across the street and cut through someone's backyard and found myself in a small court. As I walked in the direction I assumed was towards my house, I came across a bunch of elementary schoolers and an adult watching them waiting for the bus to pick them up. As I passed the adult asked me if I was a student from that school that just got locked down, I told her that we were forced to wait on the buses and that supposedly a armed man was in the school if he was caught or not I don't know. She asked me if the guy with the gun was fact or rumor, I told her I didn't know, all I knew was that they were searching all the kids that went into the school. Just then the elementary bus came, and I can't make this one up, all the kids started running not wanting to be stuck on their bus. Eventually they stopped and the bus picked them up, but it was so funny. I slowly made my way home trying to act natural if any cops drove past me, I finally got home around 9:00 and started writing this.

Talk about a crazy day.

You lucky bastard. I wish we had gun guys roaming our school so we could run away.

OddjobAbe 04-30-2007 08:30 AM

That story is like something out of some sort of book (what with all the sneaking around, cops and guns). This is actually quite a serious incident, not something I'd expect to happen. I'm glad nothing like this happened when I went to school in my younger days.

12345abe 04-30-2007 09:30 AM

Hey

That reminds me of Fahrenheit/Indigo prophecy (game) with sneaking past the cops and finding the exit, pretty cool for a game. I don't mean a whole game, it's WAY short, maybe one level, but let's not start with that...
OT:Why won't my sigpic work!?!? I tried multiple times!

Venks 04-30-2007 09:36 AM

lol I'm glad my life makes a interesting story/game.

snuzi 04-30-2007 10:23 AM

I wish my life was as exciting as yours.

That is a silly comment, i hope you get shot so you learn your lesson about saying silly things.

OddjobAbe 04-30-2007 10:39 AM

I agree with Hobo - it was very silly of you to make that comment as somebody could have been hurt. I think Hobo went a bit too far hoping that you got shot though, saying that was unnecessary.

So? That's what makes life interesting.

And no one got hurt, so what's the point of saying that they could have gotten hurt?

Wow. What an incredibly insensitive comment. ****ing tool.

Munch's Master 04-30-2007 11:10 AM

I think Jordan and Hobo were being sarcastic, or possibly satirical. I forget which applies to which in this situation.

Anyway if that's a true story then, pretty scary but pretty exciting. *thumbs up*

Jordan 04-30-2007 12:10 PM

I believe what I said was 'sarcasm'. If some people fail to see this, then there's no point being on this forum. No body actually got hurt. And it's not really proven that there really was a man with a gun.

Reiji Neko Mitsukai 04-30-2007 12:20 PM

Was I the only one that had the Mission: Impossible theme playing in mind while reading about the escape?

So any guesses about how fast your heart was beating?

Abeguy 04-30-2007 03:48 PM

funny, we had a gun threat at our school not that long ago. No one got hurt, but alot of kids were checked, and we had cops and dogs...etc...

Bullet Magnet 04-30-2007 04:35 PM

Every time dogs were brought into my school they found controlled substances on several of the boys.

Venks 04-30-2007 07:05 PM

Yeah this is a true story, that main character your reading about well thats me.

Though I didn't have theme music playing as I escaped the school, my heart was beating really fast. I was so afraid a cop would pull me over and send me back to school.

Fortesque13 04-30-2007 07:35 PM

W.O.W.!
Fahrenheit/Half Life 2 Episode 1
Damn amazing! Things like that would never happen here. Anyway, doyou have any idea wtf happened there? And was it really a gun threat?
note:not to reply till May 1st.

Leto 04-30-2007 08:24 PM

All in all an interesting experience, I would expect.

God damn, why does everyone have to be so ****ing politically correct?

Reiji Neko Mitsukai 04-30-2007 08:35 PM

*feels stupid because she doesn't know what P.C. means*

I think it's an incredible story to tell- it sounds like something from a book or a movie, but it was real life! I'd be too freaked out to even attempt something like that, much less successfully pull it off. That's an experience you'll be telling your grandkids- repeatedly.

Nate 04-30-2007 09:01 PM

Congratulations Venks for doing precisely the most risky thing to put you in danger if there was someone wandering around with a gun; much best to stay indoors. What's more, by escaping, you just make yourself look suspicious, if they're still trying to work out who the man was.

Because it's one of the possibilities that fortunately didn't happen, but if anything like this happens again, somebody could get hurt. That's all.

Statikk HDM 05-01-2007 07:10 AM

Hey, Lincoln High gets two of these a year. They're pretty trite and boring where I live. If UW-Manitowoc were to get a bomb threat called today I'd be hella psyched. It would give me an extra day to do my biochemistry Powerpoint presentation on the pituitary gland.

My guess is: everyone's a bunch of left-wing p****es?

And my school's never had a gun threat. Heck, it's never had anything remotely risky or exciting.

Again, it might happen. There's also a chance that the same thing will occur and that everyone will get out of it alright. So, what was your point again?

God damn, why does everyone have to be so ****ing politically correct?

What's wrong with being politically correct? This is such an awful modern soundbite that gets bandied about at any opportunity.

I don't mind poor taste particularly, but for things that are very recent and from someone of not superb intelligence I do find it incredibly vulgar.

Come on, SM, you know better...

Patrick Vykkers 05-01-2007 04:32 PM

Because political correctness is a racist, idiotic ideology. If some loser moron can't handle a joke, then boo frickety hoo. People should be able to say anything they want, as long as it isn't inciting violence.

An example of political correctness would be the reaction to the cartoons of Muhammad. In order to prove that their religion is peaceful and tolerant, Muslims burned down embassies, murdered innocents, and called for the death of Europe, America, the cartoonists, and anybody who "insulted" their religion. And stupid dhimwits in the EU capitulated with usual spineless nonsense about "we're sorry" and "we'll prosecute them". Yeah, because some stupid little babies can't handle a cartoon about a dead pedophile with a bomb on his head and want to kill everybody who doesn't agree with them, we should throw out Western values. Grow a set of Allahdamn balls and learn to take some bloody criticism, Muslims. You don't see Dan Brown getting death threats. You don't see Hindus calling "Death to Britain!". You don't see Buddhist martyrs blowing themselves up in China. You don't see atheists calling for the death of the Pope. Even Scientologists don't riot and burn down buildings if someone says Hubbard sucks.

Another example is the Don Imus controversy. Because some radio guy calls a team of sports players "Nappy headed hoes", every PC pinhead decides to declare jihad on him and try and get him prosecuted. Who cares? It's his right to say it, he's not inciting people to violence. If he truly is a racist raving moron, let him condemn himself with his own mouth.

Bullet Magnet 05-01-2007 08:33 PM

It's getting quite dull, you know. Every time I see one of your lengthy posts, I know what it is going to be about.

Patrick Vykkers 05-01-2007 08:44 PM

That's because there are few other topics I feel strong about. Or feel to be vital to the survival of civilization. Once more, I seem to be the conservative version of Stattik.

Ahhhh, gotta love how quickly Patrick can turn a gun threat situation into a political discussion.

Sooooo....

Have people freaked out and somehow connected your threat with the Virginia Tech Mass?

I've forgotten my point now.

When we were first in the buses a lot of the students thought it was "Virginia Tech Episode #2"

My school wasn't the first to go through this apparently three days before my little sister's school had the same problem. Some guy from Pennsylvania called Larkspur threatening to bomb the school. Luckily my sister was sick that day and didn't go to school, it turned out that his threat was simply a threat but the guy was still caught and arrested.
So yea a lot of kids are paranoid about Virginia Tech happening again, but so far so good.

Well I know it would be safer to stay in school, but I personally have a problem with trusting strangers with my life. Like if zombies were on the loose I would be out there fighting them myself, thats just the way I am.

Nemo 05-02-2007 02:02 PM

Reminds me of how my school just recently got locked down.
Appearantly, a drug-dealer chase with the police happened literally next to the school. Never found out where they dumped their stash.

You only wish.
Yeah, another bomb threat called in recently, this time it was the writings on a bathroom wall. For once I wish someone would just let a bomb off in school without the warning or make the damn bomb for the police to find.
I'm sick of all the posing.

snuzi 05-03-2007 10:39 AM

You can thank MSNBC for all these recent bomb threats and near school shootings. If they didn't show the footage of that psychotic little shit, Cho, there wouldn't be all these copy cats running about trying to get their week of fame like he did.

Well, I should add the conservative version of Stattik with only a fraction of the posts, humour, boring blogish topics, or even hatred for my chosen disliked political figure.. Also, you don't quote leftist sites like Nazimedia or Democratic Underground, or even sites like SourceWatch and Daily Kos. And I don't quote extremist sites like Free Republic (I am happy to say I am not on their political stripe) or any fundie sites.

I just found out some real info today:
The reason we were on lock down was becuase a student called in a threat, he never actually came to the school. Turns out the kid had six unexcused absences and if he got one more he would fail the semester, so rather then just go to school he decided to call in a threat to have the day off.
They won't say who the kid is something about being under 18, but he is going to face a year for this.

Wait a minute, are you saying that this Einestine some how identified him (or her) self ???

Me thinks this person should not miss so much school, because they need to wise up a bit.

"Let`s see, i could get a bad grade for this term, or could get booted out completely and face possible criminal charges. Think i`ll make the call."

What a Dumbass. :nonono:
