Upgraded Sligs
 

Hello out there. Ive got a question thats bugging me. There are many sligs, in AO there is only the pants and gun sligs, in AE there is the pants and flying sligs and in MO there is the pants, flying and BigBro sligs. What do think'll be next? Maybe a slig with rocket launchers or scuba gear? Or even a slig with a flame-thrower. What do you guys think? I think there might be scuba ones, like with oxygen masks and harpoon guns or even ones that hang from ceilings with sniper rifles. what do you think?

Lol, I mean really imagine a slig with a scuba gear, lol!I just hope there will be some slig that looks cool,and I hope they will add more creatures (like Elum,some creatures from SW...) and there will maybe be more jobs for sligs like:Valets,guards,newsguys(those are existing ones), maybe they will add some agents or something, and that reminds me of scuba sligs!Maybe sligs will fish with scuba suits!BTW, hope they will add water into Oddworld!You never see any water in AE and AO,and I didn't play MO, and i know there IS some water stuff in MO, and in SW, but didn't play IT either!So I just hope this new one will be for PS2 or PC.

Very little chance the next Oddworld will be on PS2, no game has been anounced.

Oh and by the way there is plenty of water in MO and SW.
And finally, there are no flying Sligs in MO.

I can see the creators of the Citizen Siege game making it on PS3 and 360.
But they'll skip Nintendo, like people always do.

Well, that's just because the Nintendo graphics can't compare with the graphics on the 360 or PS3 :p.

I am :( that there's no flying sligs in MO, but thats probably made like that so you can't get on a place, like... Well out of the place!You could fly outta the level by climbing on some hills and then you would probably see a... bug!I hope next Abe will be on ps3 ps2 or PC, cuz i remembered ill get a ps3! :) AAAaand I hope there will be plenty of water like in SW and MO cuz I never saw Abe swim.

That, and it was unnecessary, and would have been harder to programme, and difficult to design given the two‐dimensionality.

You forgot the Gloktici, those big octopuss-like creatures in SW in the last factory, and the octopuss-like Glukkon-head (Glokti?) that took over the Old Steef's body... You can see him swim away in the ending movie...

Yes, Stranger can swim.

The large squid-like beings in SW are called Gloktigi, while the smaller kind, like the one that was in control of the Old Steef's body, are called Octigi.

What do you expect with Stranger's clothes, ammo, and not to mention his heavy body. And you've got to remember, his legs are hunched up inside his boots, and they'll be rubbing against eachother, making it hard to swim.

Um, that's just where the topic went, buddy. And the reason why we starting talking about the which creatures of Oddworld can swim was because someone asked a question about it. Plus, you were wondering what a slig with scuba gear would look like.

And honestly, you really shouldn't talk, considering that all of your posts go off on tangents.

I really think maybe SWAT like Sligs would be in an Oddworld game. These Sligs would be really intelligent, with black clothing (like spy gear) and they're visors would be able to see in the dark. They would only be seen when there's a lot of trouble going on.

That would be sooooo cool. Like on GTA you get a certain number of stars and each star means a tougher law enforcer. With the sligs it gets more powerful and sophisticated sligs. Like:
One star:Sligs with banton (?)
two star:Sligs with guns.
three star:BigBro sligs
four star:Armoured sligs
five star:Sligs like...Rocket launchers or flame-throwers or one with heat-seeking-missles.
six stars: As alf_shall_rise said SWAT. that means your in BIG trouble

My long-time idea was if there were "Roller" Slig. Ones that zip around on two
or four wheels. Skillyaslig, if we already have sligs that fly with rotors, why do we need jetpacks?

i like the idea of general sligs. Like they guard the really expensive - important glukkons, and wear that posh outfit with one of those army hats.

Rocket launchers seem unlikely, unless a real war happens. For general security, they're really not necassary, and the resulting large blood splat and the floor scuffing...honestly! What are those slaves beaten for?
Swimming Sligs seem unlikely. No water threat has really been seen at all, Gabbits were believed extinct, and a single one would probably not be considered a threat as to create a whole new system to try to destroy it. Wait for it to come up on land, where it's actually a threat.
The mechanics for flying Sligs in 3D may have been difficult to program. Sorting bugs for that sort of thing shouldn't have been the same problem. Or, perhaps, a limit to height, just so you can't go over the map edges or anything ridiculous, like the Banshee's limit in Halo (I love those things :D) or similar.
...Sniper Sligs? With scope masks, for hired asassination purposes by Glukkons, and protection during large conferences, perhaps, to target possible threats.

Spirrow what do ya mean by 'jet packs'? donno... they could have sligs that, when they touch water, scuba gear grows on them like a transforming suit or someting

Do bigbros have nightvison? I have MO & SW (also AO & AE) though i haven't palyed them yet..So you cant hide in shadows like on the first 2 games?

There are hardly any shadows to hide in in MO. The only level that I know of that actually has shadows that can hide you from enemies is The Loading Dock.

Loading dock..I've started playing MO & did try the shadow thing...lets just say Abe didnt look so pretty after.

Abe can't necessarily fly, but he does go flying when he jumps into the huge well in MO. His mid-flight pit stop wasn't exactly comfortable (I cringed when he hit the pole) and his landing wasn't really that graceful, though.

I dont mean literally fly..I mean he goes up in the air a bit when he gets blown up...And I did a stupid thing in MO when u get to the room with the Vykkers and interns with that invisable venden machine, I hit one off the Vykkers. They then saw me and beat the crap outta Abe...Anyway I think some sligs should have like spring legs ya know? so they can jump after you & stuff
