Oddworld Tattoo
 

I am a huge fan of Gaming tattoos. I have several myself and finally got around to getting an Oddworld tattoo.

I assume I don't need to describe what it is. The picture was taken about 2 hours after it was done. LMK what you think. :fuzsmile:

Also this may or may not be common knowledge but the 5 little horizontal lines in the middle stand for each of the 5 Oddysee gaames OI said they would make.

How much did it cost?

It is roughly 5" wide and 3.5" tall

I want to get another one of my left should blade because I like to have my tattoos balanced on the right and left.

Here are my other gaming tattoos on my calves. Both are about 5" in diameter. I am on a schedule of getting one every 6 months, so I am just getting started. :fuzgrin:

I knew about that. The tattoo artist thought I was crazy because I counted the lines about 3 times before I OKed the design.

It cost $180 plus tip. I have 2 tattoo artists that I go to, both are very good and in high demand; so they cost a little more. You get what you pay for.

Not really. I'm turning 27 next month and I have been wanting to get tattoos for years. I wanted the Metroid tattoo since I was 16. All my tattoos are well thought out and not something I get on a whim. So far I only have 3, and have plans for 4 more, so I think I am taking it slow.

When it comes to the tattoo community, I am anything but extreme.

Well, as long as you have put a lot of tought in it, I don't have anything against people using videogame logos as tatoos.

That's awesome, man!!! I was going to get the same tattoo about 5 years ago, but i ended up getting the Paramite and Scrab tribals instead. I also got the curled up mudoken skeleton on the top of my back. You can check them out in the TATS section of the oddworld main website.

You should make sure to email your tattoo to Alf from fan relations. He LOVES seeing oddworld tattoos. That is if anybody actually CHECKS the oddworld email anymore.

i know that Alf Gambel died. Which is super sad. But by "alf" i mean the person that runs the "alf's rehab and tea". Whoever runs it pretends to be the fictional character Alf who is named after the late Alf Gambel. I'm not sure WHO it is that actually runs the oddworld fan relations. Unless it WAS the real Alf who i emailed back and forth with so many times, but i'm pretty sure it wasn't

I love these tattoos!

I always applaud people who get tattoos associated with gaming, because they're always subject to the whole "What if you don't like that game in 10 years time?" criticism, and they still get the tattoos THEY want on THEIR bodies.

This was the first pic I took of it, so it's a little fresh and bubbly.

It's on my left forearm, just below my elbow, I'm hoping to get another on the other side very soon, as well as hopefully a greeter, a slog and of course Abe himself on the left arm within time.

Exoddus was a massive part of my childhood, so this is my way of immortalizing it :)

I almost did the same thing, but decided against it, I didn't want to "waste" my shoulders one such small pieces. I want to eventually design some half sleeves and want a clean surface to work with.

Whenever someone says something like that I always fire back that I have been into gaming for 23 years (I'm 27) and it is still going strong. Then ask them how long they have liked "insert whatever is in their tattoo." Some people I just have to laugh at because I know they got their design from some flash off of the wall at the tattoo parlor and they usually will just walk away because they have no way of defending themselves.

People are just jealous because your tattoo represents something to you, and the only thing they can say about theirs is they though it looked cool when they got it.


I am going to make one comment of your future plans. It sounds like you are going to just place a bunch of oddworld images together, and well that is going to look like shit. Schedule some time with your tattoo artist and bring in a ton of oddworld images and shots of the different backgrounds, etc. I would also recommend getting the Oddworld art book and letting him use that also. Sit down and design an entire sleeve for your left arm. This way instead of having an arm that is a bunch of oddworld tattoo's you have have an arm that is a work of art.

Heh, that kinda gives me the idea to make the same tattoos as Abe with the scrab and paramite symbol on the hands and this sybmbol on the chest.

I won't do that (probably because I don't have a man chest :lol:) but it surely would be cool to see people getting these tattoos like this.

I only want one. I think too many tatooes can make people look ugly. Less than 4 are acceptable. :D

Rad mate! When I'm old enough Im gonna get one. My mum and dad have a lot. Mum has dragons and faeries and this massive unicorn/pegasus on her back, and flowers and butterflys while Dad has tigars and a lung dragon, with spiders and crosses and bats and the like. I will get a oddworld tatoo, a wee bit away, sure, but it'll be worth it. Great man!

That would suck. I was the last person in my family to get tattoos. Both my parents, my bro and his wife all have at least 1 tattoo. I actually planned my oddworld tattoo so I would get it the day before I spent a week at my parents house. It is on my back so I can't reach it well, so I had my mom help me with all of the aftercare. :fuzcool::fuzcool:
