What makes you an Oddworld fan?
I just wanted to know what makes everyone the Oddworld fan they are? For an example, I'll tell you what makes me and Oddworld fanatic.
1. I have every game, including the hand held ones. 2. I've beaten all of them, even though I haven't saved all the Mudokons. 3. I've been playing Oddworld since I've been about 3 years old or something. 4. I've thought of numerous adventures that includes the 2D side scrolling version of the Abe games. 5. I have drawn pictures of every Oddworld character from AO and AE (I had my mom copy them, she loves drawing :P). 6. In a matter of fact I'm making a clone of both AO and AE put together (with Arxryl's sprites lol) 7. I plan on getting the Oddworld book and Abe figure ^^. 8. I'm obsessed, I've made about 100 comics (literally) of Abe's Exodus, I'm actually making one right now...even though I can't draw. 9. I can find about three different things related to Oddworld each day. 10. And finally, my computer that I'm using right now has been Oddified. What about everyone else? lol |

I "suffer" from chronic (and terminal) O.D.D: Oddworld Dependency Disorder. It's an oddiction for which the twelve steps are failing spectacularly to cure. |

1. I am currently typing up the sequel to my not-so-blockbuster-hit story, "Oddworld: Traveler's Chronicle", which is called, "Oddworld: Traveler's Exoddus". 2. I own all of the games, (excluding the Gameboy games) and have beaten them. 3. I have a picture of Abe on my science binder. 4. Have the A.O.O.T.F.T.Y. (The OW Art book.) 5. This, the official site page, and TOL are all on my favorite's list on the computer. 6.My computer is also Oddified, with an Abe pointer and sound effects. 7. I come here daily. 8. I have made Oddworld sprites, and attempt to make oddworld drawings. |

Arxryl, yours is very possible and believable, rock on! ;) Hm... What makes me a fan? 1. I own AO and AE for the PC and PS1. 2. I own MO and SW for the Xbox. 3. I draw Oddworld pics once in a while, and I also make up characters. 4. I visit the OWFs every day, and post at least one thing. 5. I have the Oddworld artbook. 6. I've been playing it for about 6 years. 7. I've owned AO and AE twice, I rebought new copies. :p 8. I respect the people here, and listen to their Oddworld points. 9. I actually dream about going to Oddworld sometimes. 10. I used to pretend I was Abe in Oddworld in the Summer. 11. I spent a whole day playing AE, and a whole day playing MO once. |
I dont think its how much you ve done and got. its just how much your obseesed and you love it.

I know it's how much you love it, but you try to collect merchandise and games for it when you are obsessed. |
I just love the creatures, storyline, and gameplay. It's not because I have all the games, or am writing a comic, i appreciate the world

I LOVE ODDWORLD.
1. I own all the oddworld games pc and psx and xbox (excluding the gameboy ones) including the Abe's Oddysee Demo for psx.
2. I have finished all the oddworld games. 3. I have found ways to get past place's in the oddworld games (mostly MO and AE) 4. I make fangames. 5. I rip sprites from AO-AE. 7. I own a Abe Poster. 8. I own Oddworld cards and stickers. 9. I am getting the Oddworld Art Book. 10. I have been fan of the month. 11. I have made Oddworld Clay models. 12. I have Drawn Levels and All the oddworld characters. 13. All my oddworld stuff is on display in my room. 14. I made a soft fuzzle. 15. I made a LEGO oddworld once. 16. I check the oddworld forums everyday. Ultimate Oddworld Fan: 9/10 Reason: I love oddworld, I dont own everything but I own most things. I MUST collect everything oddworld. I have been a oddworld fan since I got my psx with the demo of Abe's Oddysee with it. :) |
Okay, here we go:
1. I bought AO on it's original Europe release date, as I thought right from the start that it looked a great game. 2. I started playing MO (Xbox) at 12:00am to 12:00am (A FULL DAY-in the space of a day, I completed it three times, all characters freed each time). 3. I recently purchasedthe limited edition version of the OWI art book. 4. I once created a fan game version of Munch's Oddysee in 2D, with the backstory as several different versions of: RuptureFarms, SoulStorm Brewery and Necrum Mines. I kept this game to myself, and it got accidentally deleted. 5. I drew approximately 1100 different frames to create a film of Abe's Oddysee. 6. I downloaded the MO GBA rom in order to create a CD of it's soundtrack. I succeeded. 7. I created a model slig out of plaster of paris, and hand-painted it. It was very successful. 8. I created a computer program called the 'Oddworld interactive guide', which includes game samples played through a PS1 and Xbox emulator, my Sega Megadrive/Genesis version of AO and all the pages from the OWI art book. It also included screenshots, accurate information and FMVs. I never broadcast it to the internet, though. 9. I finished AE with all the muds freed. All I got was a message from a shaman about Munch. 10. I created a small electronic model of a paramite, which every 8 steps it takes, it makes a paramite sound. 11. I created a plaster of paris model of a Scrab, then hand painted it. 12. I created a plaster of paris model of a Glukkon, then hand painted it. There. Alot of those took alot of my time up, but I enjoyed doing them. I am not willing to share images of my models, because I can't be bothered fathoming out whih key is the key for my display cabinet. I'm no bragger, I was just sticking to what I feel makes me an OW fanatic. Oh, yeah, I also completed Starnger's Wrath with the 20 grand befor I got to Mongo Valley. I won't let off the secret. |

What makes me an Oddworld fan is how I've played the games and enjoyed them in a gaming manner as well as a profound, artistic manner. Plus I have an AE hat. |
1. I've played every game over and over, even after I've beaten them.
2. When I was younger, I used to create my own Oddworld strategy guides to games I had thought up. 3. When I was younger, I would also create my own creatures and locations so that I could continue Oddworld even before the new games came out. 4. I've been nicknamed "snuzi" ever since Munch's Oddysee came out. 5. I've been so obsessed with Oddworld over the years that all of my friends, as well as certain people who don't know me, have told me to stop making such a big deal about it. 6. I've been drawing Oddworld characters ever since Abe's Oddysee came out (though, must of them sucked :p). 7. I've talked about Oddworld so much, that I've actually gotten other people hooked. 8. I used to actually play AO and AE in real life with some of my friends when I was younger. And that's pretty much all I can think of. |
I LOVE ODDWORLD TOO.
Oh gosh, how could I possibly explain why I'm a fan? Oddworld gave me something nothing could possibly scrub away: belief in their doctrines, love for their characters, and contempt for their villains. I may not be running a macho fan site, or be all chummy with the company, or buy every piece of merchandise they've licensed to release, but I do have a deep-rooted belief in everything Oddworld is fighting for. If that's not enough to make a real fan, I don't know what is. I don't know what life would be like for me without Oddworld; only thing I know is, it wouldn't be complete.

Also the first Ow game for the Gameboy. 6.) I've beaten MO and played it half way though again, I've also beaten SW. 7.) I have a Oddworld website that I work on everyday it's my signiture. 8.) Been drawing Oddworld since about 3rd grade though I've been a fan longer then that. 9.) I've been privliged enough to have dreams about Oddworld. 10.) Sometimes I notice things in the real world Identical to something in Oddworld. |
1. I have been hooked on Oddworld since I first played AO in 1997.
2. I have completed all four games numerous times and have achieved the four different endings for AO, AE and MO. 3. I own a copy of the limited edition art book. 4. I own all the Christmas cards and the stickers. 5. I own an Oddworld poster. 6. I own the Oddworld Movies DVD. 7. I own rips of most of the games’ music. (Thanks to some generous forum member whose name I can’t remember) 8. My computer is jam-packed with various Oddworld related pictures, movies and sounds. 9. I bought an Xbox specifically so I could play MO. 10. I have asked numerous questions to Alf regarding my curiosity towards the Oddworld Universe. 11. Although I do not post frequently, I do check in on the forums regularly to see what's up in the Oddworld community. That being said, I don’t believe that to be a true fan you have to own every piece of Oddworld merchandise or even own a copy of the art book. Just that you enjoyed the game(s) in your own way, and recognise and support the values and attitudes behind the game(s). |
Especially since it's harder to get some of that merchandise than it is to visit the White House dressed as a ninja.

Yeah I know what you mean, like in the Abe's Exoddus booklet in the back, all the merchandise, the website doesn't have it and I don't think the phone number is even available anymore. But...I guess those were kinda old...heh...:)

Heh, I didn't even get the merchandise catalog. Most of the merch nowadays is on eBay USA, and I'm not allowed to buy from America, all because of a stupid Sonic the hedgehog toy that never came... :rolleyes:

i love the Oddworld games for a lot of reasons.. i love the Abe games for basically everything. the gameplay, the sounds, the artwork, the uniqueness of the entire world.. i simply fell in love with everything..

The only thing I can think of that I could have done without is the fart overdo in AE. I loved the darkness and humourlessness in AO. Just touches your soul, doesn't it?

I think what makes ME a fan is:
-I love all the creatures -I have beaten AE 3 times i think, maybe 4, now I am going on 5th -I had AO when I didn't know english (probably 4 years old) -I am trying very hard to save all mudokons in AE -I am on these forums (and i think you wouldn't come at ODDWORLD forums if you aren't a fan) -I have at least 50 pictures of Oddworld -I'd like to be a Slig or a Glukkon |
I don't think that the amount of stuff you have or the amount of time you devote to oddworld makes any difference in how big of a fan a person is. I've known people who may have played a bit of an oddworld game in passing and never given it another though who will say "oh man, i LOVE oddworld" and i don't doubt that they really do. But, since we are measuring dicks here, i guess i'll throw down some stuff.
- Three oddworld tattoos - Abe Statue - Leatherbound Art Book - Official Fan of the Month 3 years ago - Stranger's Wrath autographed by Lorne - 2 Mukoden emotions shirts - Tons of the patches, stickers, pins, trading cards, and such - Every Movie poster and a bunch of other promotional posters - Purchased every game on release date (including AO) - Made VHS tapes of all the cutscenes of AO and AE to play on loop at work to promote the release of Munch - Freaked out many women with my obvious obsessive compulsive disorder - Actively spend time each day to see what you guys all have to say and to feel relief that other people love oddworld to the extent that i do. |

All I have to say is: What makes me an Oddworld fan is my love for Oddworld... I don't think you need to prove your Oddworld-fanisicm by clearing games 110% and writing entire books about it, you just need to LOVE Oddworld... And THAT makes me an Oddworld fan...

I guess i'm an oddworld fanatic.. I love my AO and Ae games more than anything else in the world. I play AO daily and draw many sketches of OW creatures, but sadly I don't have a scanner because I would do anything to show you guys!! Oddworld is my life, it has quite literally changed my life in how i look at it... never judge people because they are odd, because odd is good! I am planning to get 4 oddworld tattoos when i'm old enough, the scrabanian, paramonian, mudokon healing symbol and the OWI logo :) oddworld forum rocks you guys!

I didn't have a scanner at first, so I had to take photo's of my drawings with my digital camera, and then upload it to the PC... That way you can show us, but it isn't very helpful if you want to edit the drawing in Photoshop or something...

Hm....this is a very simle question. Abe's Odysee is the answer.That game makes me an oddworld fan because is one of the best game every time. Such originality, movies and music for a comic but cool game all in a place. What can you ask for more?
P.S: Abe's Exodus get a special place after the first. Is a very good game that adds a little flavour to Abe and mudokons :D |
