Oddworld: The twins' escape
I decided to make a new fic, as I randomly drew some characters, I thought
they'd make a good fanfic, so I hope you all enjoy! :) Prologue There was a lot of commotion at Vykker's Labs. A baby's cry was heard, two babies in fact. Sam the Mudokon queen lay on a pile of hay, and looked at her new born children that were held to her chest. Sligs, Vykkers, and Shrinks were surrounding her, rapidly asking the poor queen questions. "No... You can't eat them!" Sam said blandly to a stupid Slig. A smile appeared on her wrinkled face, and happy tears trickled down it. "I can't believe it... My first girls... I'll call them... Amethyst... and Garnet!" she said happily kissing her new daughters on their foreheads. A Vykker laughed. "Heh heh, do you really think you're gonna keep em, Sammy?" it teased evily. "Well... Yes, can't I raise them?" Sam said softly, holding her babies closer. A lot of Sligs and Vykkers cracked up laughing at hearing that. Sam glared at all her "visitors" and turned her head. "Sam, you're an unfit mother, and besides, one of these'll be queen one day, and the other must die!" a Slig said nastily, chuckling. "Yeah, these two are going straight to Ruptures Farms Nursery, and in a couple more years, we'll kill you and make one of these two queen!" Another Slig stated coldly. Sam's happy smile turned into a frown, and she stroked the twins' heads with her chained hands. "We're getting the baby cages ready, it won't take long, you'll have time with them for a while. See you..." A Vykker said, as the crowd dispersed through the giant metal door. And Sam was left alone, she began to cry... "Why... Why does our race have to a super species? How did I get like this... Please, Amethyst, Garnet, forgive me... |
Aw, that is so sad :'(. But it is very good. I feel sorry for Sam. I also want to punch one of those Vykkers in the face for being horrible. But that is a good fic. Keep it up.
|
You made me cry:crying: that was so sad! Great fic!:)
|
Thankies for the comments, here's another chapter!
"My girls, I shall see you soon, don't you worry..." Sam said quietly to her daughters. "Come on, Sam, we gotta get these two to Rupture Farms!" A Vykker said, putting it's hands on it's hips. Sam reluctantly handed her offspring to the evil Vykker, it put Amethyst and Garnet in seperate cages, and walked off with them. "I'm... Sorry!" Sam called, tears filling her eyes. The Vykker walked down a long corridor with padded walls, and walked by many other workers, who were testing fuzzles in cages. It finally reached a small station room, where a train heading for FeeCo Depot was ready. "Hey, hurry up ya slacker!" A Glukkon called Aslik mocked, smoking a pipe in his mouth. The Vykker climbed onto the Glukkon head shaped train, and it rumbled slowly, and took off. It was supported by a long bar of metal, which ran all the way to FeeCo. It was a slow journey, and the Vykker sat down and sighed. "Why... why do I have to do this?" he moaned, folding it's long, thin, pink arms. The train began to rattle, and the baby Mudokon cages started to shake about, they jumped from the Vykker's grasp and hit the floor with a loud thud. "Oh no, don't you even think about moving any further!" the Vykker warned, it lunged at one of the cages, but it slid out of the way just in time. The power of the fall made the cages bounce, and they smashed into the wall, which had weak protection. The Glukkon train lurched violently, there was a halfway stop. The sudden lurch sent the Vykker flying into the weak wall, causing it shatter, nuts and bolts blowing out into the wind. "Crud!" The Vykker cried. The cages were bashed about, they hit a wall a flew through the recently made hole. "Oh crap, Humphrey'll kill me!" the Vykker cursed, as the cages teared through the cold sky. The cages fell, and fell, they soon crashed through many sharp-branched trees, down a very mossy slope, and into a beautiful, clean spring. Amethyst and Garnet were crying, they were very loud, and it was impossible for no one to hear. **** A small, hunched old Mudokon shuffled through the dark forest, mumbling about something. "Stupid festivals..." This old, wrinkled Mudokon was female, and it was rare that she wasn'ta queen. She slowly made her way through the many trees, and came across that same spring out two little ladies fell in. "What's this? Cages...? Fuzzles I bet!" She wondered, as she went to the water's edge. She stepped into the warm, calming water, and waded towards the cages, and she reached out for them. "There, I'll get you out in a jiffy!" She said kindly, as she pulled them to dry land. Garnet squeaked, and the old lady let go of the cage. "Ha ha... It's cute!" she laughed warmly. When she opened Garnet's cage, she gasped, shocked at what she saw. "It... It can't be?" she whispered unbelievingly, putting her wrinkled hands on her wrinkled cheeks. She grabbed the baby and observed her, looking for gender signs. "Why, she's a girl, and what about the other cage?" the Old lady said softly, opening Amethyst's cage and lifting her out. "They're both girls, and baby pink in colour!" she laughed, stroking the twins' heads. The elder stood up and began to walk to the exit of the forest. Amethyst and Garnet |
Cool! you tell the story very good, I can see the whole story! keep up the great work!!!:D
|
This is getting good. I like this so far. It's getting very interesting. And I think who this mudokun is....XP. Nah, I'm joking. I don't know. This is getting good. Keep it up.

Thanks for the nice comments, here's another chapter for ya!
"Can you believe it? It was like they came from the sky..." the old lady said dreamily to her husband, who was sat down staring at the babies. "Hmm... They probably came from the Vykker's labs, Sam probably gave birth to them." he explained, sighing. The old lady paused for a second. "Sam..." she said softly, and then she shook it off. "We'll need to bring the shaman in, he can tell us their names, and their destiny, for all we know, these two could be in trouble." the old Mudokon said, standing up, and he grasped his staff firmly. "I won't be long, I'll get us some bread, then we can make him toast if he's hungry, I heard he likes his Scrab jellied toast." He told, walking through the low doorway and down a wooden ladder. "If only you could have stayed with your mother, those evil Vykkers took you away, didn't they?" the old, wrinkled lady whispered to the twins. She sighed, and began to cast a fire upon the ground, she was very skilled with her magic, but she only used it for everyday purposes, like washing, or cooking. Soon after, the old lady's husband arrived, with a very spiratual looking Mudokon behind him. The shaman bore many bright tatooes all over his body, and he had a bundle of feathers in his hair. He had a tall, muscular body, and huge hands and feet. "Lara, this is the shaman, you met him a couple of years ago," the old man introduced, stepping aside so they could meet. "Why hello, and welcome to our home!" Lara smiled warmly at her guest. The shaman shook her frail, wrinkly hands and said, "Hi, and thankyou very much." Lara smiled and went back to her fire, she warmed it up a bit more. "Would you like some toast?" the old Mudokon asked the Shaman, lifting his bundle of bread. The shaman's eyes lit up. "Yes, please, do you have any Scrab jelly? It's my favourite." the shaman answered, rubbing his arm with his hand embarassedly. The old man nodded, smiled, and took the bread from the bundle and held it over the fire, a few seconds later, it went to a beautiful goldy brown colour. "Wow, that was quick!" the Shaman commented, his eyes wide with awe. "I've always been very good at fire making, haven't I Mart?" Lara asked her husband proudly. "Oh yes, it's been very useful to us for years!" Mart laughed, as he spreaded Scrab jelly onto the cooked bread. He gave the toast to the shaman and he gobbled it up quickly. "That was delicious, thanks a lot!" the Shaman said hungrily. "Are you ready to start now, Mart told me all about the children, and I think I can help." Lara and Mart nodded, and fell silent as the Shaman closed his eyes. He began to chant, blue light shone from his lean body, the room went very dark, and all that was seen was Amethyst and Garnet and the Shaman. The shaman muttered some words from an ancient tongue, and the babies were lifted into the air, and the shaman spoke in an understandable language. "Two twins, both born from the queen, One will be good, one will be mean, Amethyst and Garnet, two destinies will collide, All they can do is sneak and hide, One shall be queen, and one shall be slayed, One shall be miserable, one shall fade, In a couple of years time, the Glukkons will be after the new queen, but who? If the two twins work together, there's nothing they can't do..." The room went back to normal, and Lara put her hand on her forehead in pain. "There there, it'll be alright..." Mart reasurred his wife, as he put his thin arm around her. The shaman nodded and stood up. "I'm afraid that's all I can do..." the he said quietly, and went to the door. "W-wait, don't you need paying?" Mart called, but the Shaman had vanished. "Amethyst and Garnet, two beautiful names, we must keep them safe..." Lara whispered, and went over to the two babies. "G..Gra..." Amethyst mumbled, and she fell asleep. |
This is getting even more interesting. I can't wait to see more. It seems Amethyst and Garnet are definately going to have a big adventure ahead of them.
|
Wow, nice start to a new story, Jordan. Keep it up, please!
Scrab Jelly??? That sounds familiar. :
|
Wow, I never actually saw that post, very weird! Thanks for the comments! ;)

Here's another chapter, enjoy! :D
"Amethyst... Wake up lazy bones!" Garnet squealed in her sister's ear. Amethyst always woke up late, especially on berry picking day, a day where the twin's went to the forest and picked berries to make a pie with their carer, Lara. "G-get lost twerp!" Amethyst shouted at her twin, bashing her hard on the head with her arm sleepily. Garnet winced, and grabbed her sister's pink arm and yanked it. "Fine, let me get ready..." Amethyst yawned tiredly, and she went over to the tub on the table and splashed some water on her face. She shook her head and followed Garnet out of the door, and down the wooden step ladder. Mikaria was a very beautiful city, all the houses were built in trees, and water currents ran around the trunks. Mudokon children were running about, playing with sticks, and splashing water at eachother. "This place never stops getting beautiful..." Garnet said dreamily, annoying her sister. "Yes... Very nice, come on, we've gotta get some berries..." Amethyst said boredly, grabbing Garnet by the shoulders. So they walked off into the woods, where it was quiet and peaceful. "Do you smell something...?" Garnet whispered, grabbing her twin's arm. Amethyst sniffed and grimaced. "Yes... I have no idea what it is, it's gross!" she cried, sticking her tongue out. They ignored the stench and went through the winding trees, and into a dark area. The disgusting smell was worse, Amethyst and Garnet couldn't bare it, they slowly backed away, and sat down in a pile of leaves. "It's getting really bad now," Garnet whimpered, her orange eyes watering. Suddenly a shuffling noise appeared from the darkness. It was getting louder, and louder. Next, a growling noise came. "What the-?" Amethyst wondered, putting her arm around her scared sister's waist. "Well well well... It's our little queen!" A Slig laughed out of nowhere, it's body formed as it walked from the black, a Slog was behind it, trotting along. Amethyst and Garnet were lost for words, and they shuffled backwards. "P-please don't hurt us, whatever you are!" Garnet screamed, tears streaming from her eyes. "Oh, I won't hurt you, little princesses, but-" the Slig said in a sly voice. But before the Slig could get any closer, a blinding flash of light shone onto the evil slig. "You will not harm these children... They are sacred, and if you touch them..." A beautiful, holy voice rang through the forest. A fireball flew down and blasted the Slig and Slog to smithereenies. "Children..." the voice sounded again, and a thin, silvery figure of a Mudokon appeared, with long, trailing hair, blue orbs where eye sockets are supposed to be. "What.. are you?" Amethyst said quietly, rubbing her eyes. The female figure swished her hair to the side, and said: "I am a goddess, my child, do not be afraid..." Cliffhanger :p |
Ooh, this is getting more interesting with each chapter. I want more. I want to see more. I want to find out what happens. I want to find out about this Goddess. Okay, I'll shut up now. Great fic, Jordan. It's getting really good. Keep it up.
|
Thankies for the comment Ray! :) I like comments!
Here's another chapter! It's a bit short... "A goddess? You're beautiful..." Garnet said dreamily, smiling at the Mudokon Goddess. "Why thankyou, I try to keep myself looking as nice as possible!" the Goddess replied, smiling back. "Um... Thanks for saving our butts, we really appreciate it!" Amethyst said appreciatively. "No problem... Now, I have something to give you two..." the Goddess said slowly, conjuring two bright objects from nowhere. The two objects dimmed and they appeared to be necklaces, with shiny pendants on the chains. "Ooh, they're pretty!" Garnet cried happily, jumping up and down crazily. One was red in colour, and the other was purple. "I'm glad you like them! You see... They're from your mother, the Mudokon queen, she put powerful spells inside them for you two to use." the Goddess explained. She lifted the red one with her magic. "This, has the power of flame inside, this will allow you, Amethyst, to cast fire balls, and later on, infernos that can blaze for years." She then lifted the purple pendant. "And this, has the power of lightning augmented into it, Garnet, you can create electrical currents, and soon enough, thunderstorms..." The beautiful goddess gave the pendants to their rightful owners and they stared at them in awe. "Thankyou, I'm lost for words..." Garnet whispered, holding her pendant to her chest, she then put it around her neck carefully and started going hyper, spinning around and giggling. "She's like this every time, thanks a lot, they're beautiful" Amethyst laughed as she put her necklace on. "Your welcome, now... I must go, and be careful, that Slig won't be the only one who'll be visiting." she said softly, and she vanished... Amethyst and Garnet hugged for a moment, then turned to walk back to the village. "Wow, they're from mum, I never knew she was a queen..." Amethyst frowned, her head hung, she knew what queens had to go through, laying all those eggs... "Cheer up, sis, you should be happy we were given these amazing things!" Garnet smiled, putting her arm around Amethyst. "Yeah... Guess you're right... But have you ever wondered, who'll be the next queen?" |
That's a very good question. Who will be the next queen? I want to know, I want to to know *Repeats for 3 days straight*. Okay, I'll be quiet. But I hope that the twins don't abuse their powers or get hurt. I like how this is coming along. I want to see more.

Cool! Can't wait to read more!:)

For all we know, when the sister combine their powers, they may become

Thanks for the wonderful compliments, I enjoy em! ;)
Here's today's chapter, enjoy! That night Amethyst pondered her question intently. "It's either me or Garnet who's gonna be the next queen, but who?" she thought, and she stared at her sister, who was quietly muttering incantations of lightning spells she had looked up earlier. "Poor mum, I feel sorry for her, I hope me and Garnet can meet her one day..." She sighed and blew a lock of her hair up. She climbed out of her warm, comfy bed and made her way to the water bucket, she grabbed a glass from the side and scooped some of the water up, she drank it and burped loudly. "Whoops!" she whispered as she laughed, and put the glass down. "The stars are beautiful tonight..." she said dreamily, not acting like herself, as she stared out of the open window into the starry night, gazing at the giant moon, which had a Mudokon paw print on its face. "I'm getting more like Garnet every day," she said, annoyed with herself. As she stared at the bright moon, she heard a very strange noise below the tree house. It wasn't water, it was more like metal... She then heard voices and began to panic. The frightened Mudokon dashed over to her twin's bed and shook her madly. "Woah, woah Amethyst, what's the matter? Not midnight swimming again, surely!?" she said loudly, thinking back to the time her sister threw her in a pool of water in the middle of the night. "No, it's definately not that, its worse... Much worse!" Amethyst cried scaredly, heaving her sister up. She led her to the window and made her listen. As she held her head to the freezing, icy cold window she whimpered. "I really don't like that noise, sis, we've gotta wake Lara and Mart up, come on!" Garnet moaned, as she rushed and dragged her sister down a long corridor, and at the end, she knocked and opened the bamboo door, to find her carer's bed empty. She looked wide-eyed around the room, breathing heavily. Amethyst pushed past her, and crept to the window, she saw something on the floor beside it, and she bent down to investigate. "Oil." she said shortly, as she wiped her finger quickly across the carpeted floor. She stood and looked at her sister. "You know what this means, Garnet?" she whispered slowly. "Sligs, more of em." Garnet shook her head unbelievingly when hearing this. "No... Not us..." the poor Mudokon said slowly. "Yes, us. You've gotta believe me sis, we've gotta look for them, now." Amethyst explained, as she grabbed her sister's large hand, and they ran down the hallway, hearts thumping against their chests. As they opened the front door a vile smell lurked around the city, and they covered their faces. "There it is again, and look!" Garnet exclaimed, as she pointed forward. Amethyst swivelled around and saw a blazing inferno of flames were crackling over the mayor's hut, and it was spreading fast, it caught two other tree houses in seconds. "Come on!!" Amethyst cried to her sister, and they jumped into a puddle of water and waded out. They sped towards a house that wasn't burning, and climbed it's wooden ladder. The twins heard loud voices inside, and they checked the window secretely, and half a dozen sligs were crowded around something. "I wonder what that is..." Amethyst whispered, as she squinted at the Sligs, trying to get a glimse at their fascination. Her question was quickly answered, the Sligs had parted, and Lara and Mart were shown, tied up with a strong rope. "They're there... Get em boys, a mysterious voice sounded, and the Sligs burst through the door, and the twins had somehow backflipped and landed safely, they began to run towards the woods... |
I hope the twins will be okay. I don't want anything bad to happen to them. I won't see to more. More, more, more. I want more. But these are good. Keep it up.

An even better chapter can't wait for the next one!
|
Thankies for the nice compliments, you two! ;)
Here's another chapter, enjoy! :) As Amethyst and Garnet sprinted towards the forest, a Slig had dived forward from the treehouse porch and grabbed Garnet's foot, she screamed and fell. "Ahhh! Get off, jerk!" She screamed, as she booted him in the head. It doubled over and the twins turned as two more Sligs approached them, mechanical pants steaming. Amethyst suddenly unleashed a hot fire ball and made it fly into one of the Sligs. Garnet then shot an electrical current at the other, as they were burnt and zapped, the twins grabbed the chance and made their way to the woods quickly. They stopped in front of the spring and began to pant heavily, they slurped some water up and sat down behind a bush. "I'm really scared, Amethyst..." Garnet cried to her sister, as she hugged her, tears trickling down her face. "Don't worry, don't worry..." Amethyst said comfortingly. They waited there for a short while, and a loud Slig was heard dashing about outside. "Come out, little princesses," A sly, greasy voice said loudly. Amethyst couldn't take it anymore, she stood up and ran towards the evil Slig, Garnet eyeing her carefully. "Oi! Stop scaring my sister, you big bully!" She roared near its head. It turned and laughed at her. "Oh yeah, and what are you gonna do about it, punk?" it chuckled poking her on the forehead. "This." she said simply, and she lifted her fist and sent it flying into the Slig's green stomache. The Slig began to throw up all over the moonlit grass, and it fell to the floor. "Come on sis, we've gotta save Lara and Mart!" Amethyst shouted to her sister, beckoning her. Garnet did as she was told, and she followed her sister out of the forest, biting her nails all the way. Two more Sligs were waiting for them outside, Amethyst bashed a Slig's head with a flying kick, and Garnet muttered a lightning spell, and sent a bolt of electricity at the other Slig's pants, it quivered with shock and fell to the floor. "Wow, Garnet that was amazing, you're getting good with your magic!" Amethyst complimented her sister, as they walked towards the burnt mayor's hut. "Why thankyou!" Garnet smiled. When the two Mudokons had reached the hut they looked opened the wooden door and ran to Mart and Lara. They were trying to shout something, but they were muted by gags over their mouths, they began to talk when they had been pulled off. "How did you defeat all those Sligs?" Lara said quietly, as she hugged the twins. Once Amethyst had been let go she stepped back and spoke. "I guess martial arts payed off..." She said happily, then hugging Mart. "I didn't really fight much, but I used my magic!" Garnet spoke proudly, also hugging Mart. "You make an old, wrinkled Mudokon wise, my girls!" Lara chuckled warmly. After more hugging, they decided to make their way back home, and halfway there, they saw lots more Sligs. At least 50, in a big group, staring at them. "What's going on!?" Garnet screamed, hiding behind Mart. A cold, mysterious gust of wind blew through the village, and there was a deadly silence. Suddenly the Sligs parted, and a Glukkon was revealed, it smoked a giant cigar, and the same vile smell came back. The Glukkon was dressed in jet black robes, and broad shoulders underneath. He broke the silence and spoke loudly. "So, our little princesses have finally been found!" The group of Sligs began to laugh loudly, and the Glukkon leader shushed them. "It's time, children, to come with me!" it said evily, turning to face his Slig minions. "Get the ship ready. Now!!" The Sligs scampered towards the steep hill that led to the town borders and a loud noise followed. Amethyst and Garnet stood, frozen, and stared at the Glukkon coldly. "I'd like you to meet a friend of mine. His name is Fred. Come here FREDRAKA!!" the mysterious Glukkon said slowly, lifting its head to the starlight night. A strange shaking came to the city, and a screeching sound was heard. Soon enough a creature fell to the floor, and it shook violently, making the twins and their carers smash to the floor. "Get em!" |
Hmmm, nice. Can't wait to see what that thing is. Is
it a giant flying big bro slig??? |
Oh god, I can't wait till tomorrow to write the next chapter, I'll do it now!
This chapter has a twist, It's a boss battle, so I hope you like the change! ;) The beast screeched again. It had a big head, with tentacles on the end, it's yellow eyes glowed creepily, and it's metallic legs began to kick. It was an Oktogi... Amethyst and Garnet ran towards the creature, ready for a battle. BOSS BATTLE PRINCE FREDRAKA IV HP: 300 Amethyst lunged at Fredraka and landed on its giant head, it wiggled about, she began to bash at it with her fists, until it shook her off. 10 damage HP: 290 "What the-?" Amethyst said unbelievingly, glaring at the angered Gloktogi. Garnet muttered an incantation slowly, while she did this, Amethyst ran towards Fredraka again, she ignited her hands with fire and tangoed him. It screamed and kicked Amethyst in the stomach, she fell and crumpled to the floor. 30 damage HP: 260 "Garnet opened her eyes and looked at her twin, she quickly let go of the spell, it created a large lightning bolt that crashed onto the Gloktogi's head, it quivered and roared in a rage. 50 damage HP: 210 "Sis, are you alright!?" She cried to Amethyst, shaking her crazily. Luckily, Amethyst got up and coughed. "Yeah.. I'm fine, come on!" she said, winded. Fredraka was in a lot of pain, it started to bleed from the force of the tango and punches, it suddenly ejected a long, sharp, glinting tentacle from it's metal legs. It swished it about madly, and another came out, they stabbed at the twins, they did a couple of backflips and lifted their arms in a ready stance. "Garnet, I'll see if my fire'll affect it, you go for the physical approach!" Amethyst ordered to her sister, who obeyed and made her way towards the enemy. It swiped at her with its tentacle, she dodged with a jumping flip and landed with a kick, the Gloktogi flew to the floor, and Garnet sat on it's metallic body. She happy slapped it and jumped off when it attacked her with a spikey tentacle. 25 damage HP: 185 Fredraka lunged at its attacker, Garnet was caught of guard and tripped as the Gloktogi tickled her leg. "Oh no!!!" She screamed as she fell, but she landed on her hand and did a somesault with a twirl. By this time, Amethyst had finished her spell, she sent a wall of fire up from under Fredraka, it squealed as the fire blazed. 50 damage HP: 135 "We're getting close, it doesn't look too good..." Amethyst panted, as the prince stood tirelessley, it's tentacles hanging by its side. "Yeah, come on, team approach!" Garnet cried, and the twins sped towards the boss, Amethyst was covered in blue fire, and Garnet had an orb of red lightning around her. They did a double kick, and as they soared to the ground, they slapped Fredraka madly, and backflipped off. 80 damage HP: 55 Fredraka had had enough, it started steaming and it's tentacles wriggled as it roared in pain and fear. Blood was trickling down its face, it's bright, yellow eyes searing with sweat. Amethyst and her sister unleashed some tiny spells rapidly at the monster, causing it to fall face first onto the the muddy, sandy floor. 35 damage HP: 20 As the twin Mudokons crept towards the prince, a shock came to them. One of its tentacles flew up wildly, and went straight for lara. They watched the evilness. The tentacle went through lara's stomach, and she was lifted into the air, the tentacle waving slowly and silently. There was a very long, and nasty silence. "LARA!!!!" the twins roared, and they went mental, bashing the Gloktogi fiercely. It died a very slow and painful death, it's tentacle withered, and Lara smashed to the floor, sending earth and pebbles flying. The mysterious Glukkon was nowhere to be seen... Amethyst and Garnet sprinted towards Lara, sharp tears filling their beautiful eyes. As they kneeled beside her, Mart muttered something. "It all happened so fast, but why didn't I stop it?" The twins stayed silent, and tears rolled down their cheeks, and onto Lara's body. She suddenly spoke, but very slowly and quietly. "Girls.. I'm sorry..." Everyone was silent, they didn't know what to say... "I have something to tell you..." she slurred, "Girls... I'm your... Grandmoth-..." And she passed away, her hand in Garnet's grasp... |
Oh no. I liked Lara. Please let her come back somehow. Sorry. But this is good. The sudden...incident works nicely. I like it. Keep it up.
|
Excellent chapters!!!! But Lara can't die!!!! Keep it up Jordan I am officially hooked!!!!
|
Thanks Ray and Dikrip! After a long time of trying to get the computer's monitor to work, here's another chapter! ;)
Make her come back...? Hmm... It's a very short chapter, because I wanna cliffhang ya! :p I'm evil! Amethyst, Garnet, and Mart sat huddled together, next to Lara. "Grandmother?" Garnet said quietly, her eyes stinging with wet, salty tears. Mart slowly nodded. "We didn't want to tell you till you were a little older... But now, you find out, and she's dead!!" He cried, as he hugged his two grandchildren. "It won't seem right... Without her..." Amethyst mumbled, turning away, tears beginning to stain her top. Mart sighed and stood up, his grandchildren watched him. "W-where are the villagers... Don't tell me they died too?" Garnet stuttered, her teeth chattering from the freezing cold of the night. Mart shook his head, "No, they went to the ranch, they're safe..." He explained. Amethyst stood up, and then Garnet. "We've got to see if they're okay, come on Grandpa, sis..."Amethyst said, walking towards the giant hill that lead to the ranch. Mart ran to catch up with Amethyst and Garnet sat back down next to Lara. She struggled, but managed to lift her, she slowly caught up with her Granfather and twin. They made their way to the top of the hill and looked at a giant burnt mark in the grass. "I guess they fled... The cowards!" Mart shouted, shaking his fist at the sky. Amethyst carried on walking, followed by Garnet and Mart. Once they had reached the ranch they entered the barn. Many Mudokons were huddled against the wall, hugging eachother for warmth. "Mart, you're safe, and Lara...!?" An old Mudokon said, relieved, but then looked at Lara. Garnet sniffled and placed her grandmother on the wooden floor, which had hay scattered all over the floor. The huddled Mudokons began to stand up and take a look at the deceased elder. "She's injured... Look at her stomach, it's bleeding bad!" the village healer said unknowingly, kneeling by Lara. Everyone watched the healer, and Mart shook his head. The healer observed the hole and said sadly: "She couldn't have survived this..." When she saw Mart's face, she knew. "She isn't alive is she?" Several cries of sorrow came from the crowd of Mudokons, who then began to bow in front of Lara, Garnet, Amethyst and Mart followed. The healer looked at Lara sorrowfully. "W-wait, she isn't dead...!" she cried, looking around. Everybody in the room looked up at the healer, eyes wide. "What!?" Amethyst shouted, speeding to her grandmother. "You say she isn't dead!?" The healer nodded. "Yes, I can cure her, but I need something for it!" Garnet then stood up, "What is that something?" She asked, hopes getting higher. "You need... The tears of Shrykull." |
Tears of Shrykull what a twist! Well, at least she's still alive. Keep going this just keeps getting better and better!
|
Thanks for the comment, Dikrip! Here's another chapter! :D
Several gasps of disbelief were heard, and Amethyst and Garnet opened their mouths in awe. "You mean, the GOD Shrykull? That's gonna be impossible!" Amethyst protested, looking at her grandmother thoughtfully. "That's the only treatment for reincarnation I'm afraid!" the healer said simply. Garnet cupped her hands together and held them to her chest. "We'll do it!" She cried seriously, nodding quickly. Amethyst looked at her sister, then turned to the healer. "Yes," she agreed, also nodding. "What? You mean you'll do it?" the Healer cried happily, standing up and looking at the determined Mudokons. "Yep!" the twins said together, hugging. The Mudokon villagers began to smile, cheering for Amethyst and Garnet, Mart hugged them both. "You mean you'll really do this...? You can't do it alone, you won't survive!" he warned. "Grandpa, we're grown up now! We can do it!" Amethyst said softly to Mart. Garnet nodded in agreement. Mart sighed and said: "Well... I guess you are older now, and you do have your magic..." Garnet whooped happily, as she hopped up and down excitedly. "To collect some tears of Shrykull, you must pray to him every night, and recieve his blessing! You need to visit the Scrabanian and Paramonian vaults, and gain the two spirits, the Paramite, and the Scrab!" the Healer explained, Amethyst and Garnet nodding in understandement(word?) "When can we start?" Garnet yawned, obviously tired. "By the looks of it, you need rest. You may start later today, it's already past midnight..." the healer told, showing Garnet and Amethyst a soft, comfy pile of hay, of which they lay on. "Good night, my grandaughters... Have a good sleep..." Mart said softly. And the two tired twins closed their eyes... Early in the morning, Amethyst and Garnet were the first to awaken, they caught this chance to talk. "Hmm... I can't believe grandma can be cured, it's gonna be so exciting!" Garnet whispered happily, stretching. "Yeah... I've never believed in Shrykull properly, it's been mainly the Mudokon goddess I've been bothered about..." she said tiredly, rubbing sleep from her eyes. "Paramites and Scrabs, I've heard about those, they're supposed to be really freaky!" Garnet said excitedly, smiling. Amethyst nodded unsurely, and she stood up and walked towards the middle of the old, wooden barn. Garnet looked at her, interested. She crept towards Mart and hugged him lightly, he was snoring really badly. "Garnet, I wanna leave. Now..." She explained, keeping her voice low. "Now?" Garnet asked quietly, walking behind her sister. "Can we at least wake the healer up, we need directions... Amethyst sighed, and nodded. They slowly sneeked towards the sleeping healer, they quietly shook her, and her eyes opened grogily. "Mmm..." she mumbled, her hands pushing her body upwards. "Amethyst.. Garnet, what do you want, children?" she asked dreamily. The twins exchanged looks, then looked back at the healer. "We'd like to leave, now!" They both said. "Hmm.. Now?" she wondered, smiling at the sisters. They smiled and Garnet replied. "Yes, please!" "I suppose you want to leave discretely?" the healer asked quickly. "Yes, it would save the tears, so me and Garnet aren't upset at the start of our journey, so we're ready..." Amethyst explained to the healer. The healer led the twins to the barn doors, and pulled the wooden bar to the side. She pushed the creaky, dusty doors, and they went through to the cool morning breeze, which blustered through their hair. As Amethyst and Garnet shivered, cold to the bone, the healer spoke. "You must make your way through the fleech forest, and be careful of fleeches, they can rip your flesh in a second!" the healer warned, putting her hand on Garnet's shoulder, and the Amethyst's. "Do you think we could have a search in the village before we leave?" Amethyst asked politely. The healer lady sighed, "You can... But there'll be nothing there, it's been burnt down... Wait... I have something for you!" she added, as the twin's turned towards their destination. Garnet looked at her, a smile on her face. "Hm?" The healer conjured two orbs, just as the Mudokon goddess had done, the orbs dimmed, and two bracelets appeared. She dropped them into her hands, she lifted a turquiouse-coloured bracelet. "This is the protection bracelet, Amethyst, this will allow you cast a shield around both of you, it lasts a couple of seconds, so be wary!" She lifted a white bracelet. "Garnet, with this you can cure light wounds, but it can drain a lot of your magic, so use it wisely!" The twins looked at their bracelets in awe, they thanked the healer, and made their way to the village... |
I just hope that Amythest and Garnet can do this mission. At least Lara can be healed. This is going to be a tough journey. At least the bracelets should help. At least the fic is great. I want more. More. MORE. I want more. Good fic, Jordan.

More magic cool. Now they can be slightly healed at least. And that shield will help a lot. Keep going on this Jordan it gets better by the......paragraph?

Thankyou for the comments, I like em!
As they walked towards the village, a weak flame was whipped up by the wind into a hot Simoon, Amethyst knew these were dangerous, so she protected her sister and herself. The Simoon swept by them, making the shield wobble. They were released, and they carried on towards the charred remains of Mikaria. They ran towards the closest rubble they could find, and they started to tear it apart. "What's that?" Garnet asked curiously, as she looked at the thing that had been revealed. It appeared to be a stone slab, with a strange yellow symbol embedded into it. Amethyst observed it closely, touching it softly. "I don't know, but I have a feeling there'll be more around here..." she said quietly, as she sighed and stood up. She beckoned her sister to follow, and she did so. They began to clear the rubble of a couple more tree huts, a cold wind biting through their hair like a Paramite through a piece of meat. Amethyst was right, each time a different symbol was shown on each slab, once each house had been finished, including their house, Garnet had an idea brewing in her mind. "What if, we somehow activated these with mana, and then something will happen, they have to mean something... Right...?" She explained her point. Her sister pondered it for a while, and then nodded. Garnet raced off towards the closest hut rubble, and began to unlease some mana into the stone slabs. The symbol glowed a bright blue color, Garnet jumped in excitement. "Yay!! It worked!" She shouted happily, the wind ruffling her hair wildly, she shook it about and ran to the next symbol hyperly. She repeated this on each house, and sped back to her sister, who was folding her arms, watching intently. A couple of seconds passed. Suddenly the ground began to shake madly, sending the twins flying to the floor, mud going in their mouths. "Bleh!!" Garnet cried, spitting bits of earth onto the burnt floor. She stood and her sister did soon after. "Look at that!" Amethyst cried in awe, pointing at something she had seen, Garnet looked at the thing her sister saw, and yelped in amazement. "Ooh, ooh! It's prettyful!" Garnet squealed happily. The thing they had seen was a bright star over the trees of the forest, it quickly hovered downwards, and into the interior of the forest. The twins exchanged looks, and ran into the forest to investigate their find. As they walked into the woods, their sight went blurry from the bright light. They struggled forward, and the twinkle crashed to floor, making it shine a beautiful blue. Amethyst and Garnet stared at the brightness, and were thrown back because of the powerful magic. They slowly lifted their heads, and looked at the light, it was gone. Instead, there was a large hole, it was very deep... Well, you know what they're gonna do dontcha? |
They're going to go inside and finish their mission. This is getting good. Especially the simoon bit. I can't wait to read more. I'm hooked. Everytime I read it, I'm on the dge of my seat. I like this. Keep this up. I want more.

Thanks Ray and GD! I'm glad ya like it! :)
Here's another chapter! ;) The two twins' hearts raced speedily. They examined the hole by standing by it. Garnet spoke and broke the exciting silence. "I can't believe we just did that... Wow!" she said unbelievingly, rubbing her eyes. Amethyst smiled and hugged her sister. "You did it, sis, well done!" she laughed, and patted her twin on the back. Garnet, overwhelmed, smiled proudly, then said: "Come on, we might as well check it out!" she said happily, crouching over the recently opened hole. "Alright then, go!!" Amethyst replied, pushing Garnet evily. Garnet slipped and grabbed the opposite edge, her body curved like a bridge. "Ya little nasty!" Garnet growled, snorting with laughter. She grasped the grass firmly, and dropped her legs down the hole, she hung there stupidly. Amethyst let out a burst of laughter, and fell to the floor, giggling crazily. Garnet clutched at the vines on the wall of the hole, and slowly clambered downwards, mud dropping from the edge of the gap. "Geronimo!" Amethyst cried, vaulting downwards opposite Garnet. They carefully made their way to the bottom, where it was pitch black. Amethyst conjured a blue fireball, it brightened the room up quickly, and it traveled in front of them, as if to guide the way. The dark room had strange tiles on the walls, and the floor was shiny and had black and white clay tiles. The sisters looked around, the room was very big, so it was hard to see. They found a short stairway, and there were shadows upon the far wall. "I don't like the feel of this place, it's weeeeird!" Garnet whispered into Amethyst's ear, who shook her off. Amethyst grabbed Garnet's arm and led her down the marble staircase. When they reached the bottom, everything was clear. There was a stone plynth stood at the wall, Garnet shook from Amethyst's grip and ran towards the plynth. It had a black, shiny slab placed on its surface, and it too had a yellow symbol carved into it. "Hey sis, come and look at this!" Garnet called to her sister, who jogged towards her, and looked at the symbol, she sighed. "Another...?" She asked simply, placing her hand on it. Garnet nodded, then tried to release some mana into it, nothing happened. She tried again, ditto. She looked at it hopelessly. Amethyst started to whistle loudly, then she spotted something flashing in the corner. "Garnet.. Look at that!" she shouted excitedly. "Fireflies..." Garnet said dreamily. |
Fireflies...it could be a good sign. It could be a bad sign. We don't know. But at least it's a good cliffhanger. I can't wait to see what will happen.
|
Hmm, I wonder if the fireflies guide them through the tunnel. Curse you Jordan my imaginations playin' up again. Still a brilliant fic, do I need to say keep it up?

Right, this forum's going haywire, so I'd better save these chapters in case any of the posts get deleted!
Anyway, thanks you two for the comments, so here's a new chapter for ya, I hope you enjoy it! :) "I've heard fireflies can guide you, they're supposed to be really great!" Garnet said happily, looking at her twin. "Guide? How do we make em do that?" Amethyst asked curiosly, staring at the bright blue flies. Garnet explained to her sister that one must chant. But neither of them had done much on chanting. "Well.. Grandma used to try to teach us, but apparently we refused..." Amethyst explained. "Damn, I wish we'd tried!" Garnet thought carefully, hand on hips. "Well, we've got to try something!" she ordered, sitting on the floor, getting ready for meditation. Amethyst joined her. "Really sis, the things you get us into..." she sighed, closing her eyes. Amethyst had a constapated look on her face, cheeks burning a bright red. Garnet snorted with laughter at her, and tried it herself. She slowly muttered some words in Mudish, and waved her hands around. Amethyst watched her sister, one eyebrow raised, and a smile broke on her face. Soon enough, Garnet glowed blue, and tiny orbs of light hovered about her head. She opened her eyes and glanced at the fireflies. They spelled out a sentence. It read: "To reach the secret room, you must work as a pair, it doesn't matter how it's done, just use your mana..." And they went back to their original form, where they flew in a group, in that little corner. "Use our mana...?" Garnet said dreamily, as she stood up. Amethyst sighed and folded her arms. "Cheer up, it'll be fun, we can make our own routine of putting our magic together!" Garnet said excitedly, patting her twin on the arm. "Well... I suppose..." Amethyst replied, rubbing her eyes, tired of the dark. "I wonder what it'd be like if fire and lightning crossed?" Garnet wondered curiously, a manic grin on her face. "It'd be catastrophic." Amethyst said simply, laughing at her sister's excitement. Garnet smiled and begged her sister to try it. Amethyst nodded reluctantly, and began to mutter her fire spell. Garnet in surprise at her twin's quickness, and suddenly started mumbling her lightning spell. The twins had learned to hold their spells on for a minute, and could cast Level 1b magic. After at least a minute, Amethyst let go of her spell and a line of flames shot through the air, aimed straight for the plynth. As soon as Garnet heard the magic 'pop', she suddenly unleashed a strong jolt of lightning, she made it go straight through her sister's blast of fire. The lightning split, and it covered the fire. A bright, blinding ray of light appeared in the blast. All of a sudden, a powerful eruption came, blasting Amethyst and Garnet apart, they thudded to the ground. Dust flew in all directions, it was hard to see anything. "Ahh!!" Garnet screamed. As the dust parted, the sound heard in Zelda when Link did something cool rang in the twins' small, pointy ears. |
Nice Zelda reference. I like it. I can just imagine that now. And the bit with the fireflies was cool as well. I like this. Keep it up.

Interesting outcome of combined magic. Plus the Zelda sound is cool to:). Can't wait to read more.
