Drawrin's

I've decided to post some art. Yay!

The first two are portraits. This is a self-portrait, and this is one of a girl I once fancied. Good times.

The next one is unfinished, an odd little dragon thingy. And finally, another unfinished piece, a confused plant with legs and a tail.

Do enjoy, please. :)

Lord Vulcher 07-02-2006 07:04 AM

Wow, those are good. I like the dragon one especially, but thats because I am a fan of myths and legends.

Matriar 07-02-2006 07:19 AM

I don't have favorite ones... all of them are good :):)!

Dusan 07-02-2006 08:02 AM

well I'll give you a suggestin:
Contoures are to vissible. You shold use shadow to cover them and make contrast betwen white background and shadowed object.

I hope you can understand all this

Bullet Magnet 07-03-2006 03:02 AM

Dragon: I'm melting! MELTING! Who would have thought that a small amount of liquid would ever fall on meeeeeeee....!

Leto 07-07-2006 10:44 PM

Holy bogshite! I'mma likes me some confused plant. Why didn't I notice this soonerish?

Kimon 07-09-2006 07:48 PM

CUZ U IS GHEY LOL

But yeah, I'm about to buy some drawrin' books, so hopefully I learn a bit from them and post more pictures. Yhey!

Also, thanks for the comments and crits guys. Much appreciated. Especially you, Dusan. Way to have balls.

Dusan 07-10-2006 08:35 AM

aaa.. balls? It was just a suggestion...

Kimon 07-10-2006 09:54 AM

It was a criticism as well, and that's what I'm looking for, as opposed to "ur r rly good" responses. Having balls means you have courage... I don't know how well that translates.

Hmmm, very nice. One thing I think you should work on if you want it to lookm more realistic is shading. It may seem difficult at first, but it's great for anatomy.

That plant kind of looks like you. :p

Dusan 07-10-2006 11:22 AM

I know what having balls (in this case) means, but I do not see why I "need " them to give you a critic.

Kimon 07-10-2006 03:36 PM

Because most people are pussies and just post what they think the artist in question wants to hear, so as to avoid conflict. But you didn't do that. Be proud. Or actually, I stopped caring. Whatevs.

Psh, Used, that doesn't look like me. I'm planted in a vase, not a pot, and I have many more legs.

skillya_glowi 07-10-2006 03:41 PM

May I make a suggestion? Don't use outlines so much. It makes the drawing look like just a contour with nothing in between. Try using subtle shading to signify shapes instead of just outlining them.

Mutual Friend 07-13-2006 04:59 PM

That's quite a piece of laughing gear you got yourself there, Kimon.

scrab queen 07-13-2006 08:06 PM

that portrait of that girl looks a whole lot like me....
??!!!!

Kimon 07-14-2006 02:47 PM

....Zoe?

I'm afraid I don't understand your most unique phraseology. 4 Shame.

Damn. :(

Kimon 07-14-2006 04:19 PM

Don't fret. I'll still make angry love to you just as violently.

Mutual Friend 07-14-2006 04:21 PM

Hurrah! :D

Mutual Friend 07-14-2006 04:22 PM

Two one-word posts almost in a row?! That's terrible.

But what do I care, I'm gonna get ****ed 'violently' by Kimon. I'll see you bastards in Hell!

Kimon 09-19-2006 05:01 PM

It's me AGAIN! I haven't posted in over two months. I'd say it's about damn time, wouldn't you?

COOL!!!!

Creepy Doc 09-20-2006 06:24 AM

Hey, that's stylish. :fuzcool:

Matriar 09-21-2006 04:42 AM

Pretty cool drawing style as always. Really! That's cool stuff. :)

Mutual Friend 09-24-2006 07:02 PM

Actually, that's terrific. I mean, it's nonsense, but it's the best kind of nonsense.

We demand more eye-ballesque imagery!

Kimon 09-24-2006 07:37 PM

Thank ye fellas!

Kinda funny, I just added an eye-ball like being to that drawing a few minutes ago. It's still a work in progress, but I shall give yousus an update.

Mutual Friend 09-24-2006 07:39 PM

Nice, but don't go too far with it. I think it's perfect as it is, don't get it crowded.

Just my two pence.

ziggy 09-24-2006 09:23 PM

that's pretty cool, but it seems about done to me. I don't think you need to add on that much more.

It seems like a thing for an AFI album cover or somethin

Matriar 09-25-2006 02:48 AM

Yes, the picture is good so far. :)

No, I agree. I actually think I went too far already. I'm going to fix it up in Photoshop once my friend lends me the use of his scanner.

I do too, I was just trying to say it in a diplomatic way. :)

If you can touch it up using 'puter power, that'd be excellent. The new addition just kinda off-balances it somehow. But it's still good!

Kimon 10-05-2006 09:12 AM

Good news, I managed to scan it, make it completely black and white, and rid of the sitty new addition! Yaay!

That image is kind of blurry, something I intend to fix when I get home. :) It will end up looking like the following, without the little blotch on the circle.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...progress-1.jpg

Another edit: It's the size change that makes the visual difference. My badski!

Creepy Doc 10-05-2006 12:46 PM

That reminds me of Halloween. :)

Bonedust 10-05-2006 06:52 PM

Good job it looks much better this way.

Matriar 10-07-2006 03:04 AM

Even I think the one with the dark-red color looks cooler. :fuzblink:

Kimon 01-29-2007 03:55 PM

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I have some new things, and I really don't think it's worth making another whole art thread for. Weee!

This is a blue treeish thing I made in art class.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...atercolor2.jpg

THIS is a self-portrait in the form of linoleum print! Mm-mmm fun!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...Portrait-2.jpg

And I am going to try desperately to keep up with my artwork consistently so as to keep this thread living and fun for ALL!

Cullen Heath 01-29-2007 04:01 PM

Kimon! I missed you, and your artiness.
Tree thing is great! I love it, though I can't see any blue, besides maybe a faint bit in the background, if that's what you mean. How did you make those splats? I can't imagine you flicking the pen's ink all over, but I could be wrong. The portrait is... not coming up for some reason. Once it works I'll give you feedback on it.
EDIT: Whoa! Nice, I like that. How does that work, it is in the paper? Like scratch art type stuff? And what are you staning on?
Good stuff, please more.

used:) 01-29-2007 10:14 PM

Kimon, your surreal art is very well done :). You have a great ability in metamorphosisizing (sp?) things and also just makign generally cool stuff. Go you!

Matriar 01-30-2007 06:48 AM

Cool, you(r artworks) are back again! :)
I like that drawing style. My favorite picture is the first one. The tree looks nice and the inkblots make the picture kind of lovely. It's inspiring. :)

Kimon 03-13-2008 07:19 PM

Heeeeey!!!!!

Well, all those things I posted all them months ago got me into art school, so now I have some more pictures to post! WOOT.

The first is a Chuck Close style piece with boxes of COLOR!!!

http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/phot...17216_5668.jpg

This'n involves chunks of color, based on the same photograph.

http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/phot...17215_4427.jpg

The next four are part of a series where we had to do a bunch of charcoal drawings as shapes of value (lightness or darkness), so minimal use of line. Except for the last, which is a reproduction of a Chardin painting.

http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/phot...17511_7825.jpg

http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/phot...17512_9007.jpg

Unfortunately, it's all Fine Arts classwork and things, most of my personal artwork is in tiny sketchbooks that are to difficult to photograph, so yeah. I'm on a 9-day break tomorrow though, so hopefully I'll get some shit up by then.

Leto 03-14-2008 12:34 AM

Holy fucking shit, how did I miss this art? When I finish recording an EP I will hunt you down and make them albums and shit.

Man you're good. And on two pictures I see painted toenails!

you deserve free money
