Superman Leaves!
|
I hate it. I hate every movie about superheroes
|
:
Superman is a classic. I haven't seen it yet, but I definitely will... |
Superman is lame. I just can't respect a guy who has every single power and dresses like that and doesn't nail Lois Lane. His whole schtick is that he's damaged by a rare element and battles a rich balding guy. It sucks, I think.
This is just another symptom of a tapped out Hollywood that couldn't come up with a decent and original summer blockbuster, instead they have to hijack comics and other books. |
If anything, they should've restarted the franchise, instead of picking up where the last left off.
I think they should've waited until 'Smallville' finished and then followed on after that. ...but meh, t'is Hollywood after all. |
Superman was always bad. Though, I did get a chuckle when I discovered his 'Superdog' companion, with superstrength and x-ray vision.
|
don't get me wrong i like superman and love superhero movies but this one was just bad i think one problem might be superman is kind of old fashioned and doesn't translate to live action as well as spiderman. but the whole time i just kept thinking about an oddworld movie and transformers which is coming out next summer
|
I really dislike superheroes. They just don't bring in the money and they encourage children to jump off roofs.

They bring in hella money. But to me a superhero has to have something on the line, thats what makes it heroic. Daredevil, Batman, and the like appeal to me more. People with disabilities and weaknesses risking themselves for the greater good. Superman isn't even a superhero to me, he's more like God with a better looking girlfriend. Oh, and I have to link to this

Superman Returns
:
I saw the premiere of Superman Returns in NZ. Thought it was pretty decent. Does anyone else think that Luthors plan in the movie was remarkably similar to that of Chairman Drek's from Ratchet and Clank? |
:
I've heard good things about Superman Returns, and while I never liked him as a superhero, I expect to see the movie sometime. |
I saw the end of Superman 1, wich is the stupides end that I ever saw (i didn't saw the rest of movie, so i can't talk about that)
|
I'm saving my money for Clerks 2.
|
Superman bores me. I don't hate him but I mean, meh. Just meh.
Clerks 2: Kevin Smith hasn't been funny for a long time. And he wasn't that funny to begin with. I'm gonna pass. |
I'll see it when it comes out on DVD.
|
Not VHS!? ZOMG! These DVD thingies sure are spreading fast. ;)
|
Yes, too fast.....:dodgy:
|
I might see it tonight but Superman was only good with Christapher Reeves.
|
:
|
I didn't like Jersey Girl that much, but this is a "roots" film so it should be better.
|
Superman is worth the money just for the opening. Seeing it on the big screen really does it justice. But it isn't a bad movie. What are you guys talking about? I enjoyed it.
***Spoiler Ahoy!!!*** What I don't get about the movie is Lex Luther's motives? I mean he wanted to create a new continent so he could make money. But the new continent he was making would be useless. It was all crystal. You can't grow anything and to build on it would be close to impossible. Yes it might be a good idea on paper but I don't think that he thought it through. |
Bah, if its was worth it for anything(seriously doubting that) was the Spidey 3 trailer. Venom=AWESOME.

On a seperate, yet vaguely related, topic - does anybody think a Warhammer 40,000 film would do well?
|
THAT WOULD PWN!!!
I agree 100 percent with Jacob, make that movie now! |
It'd be good, dunno how it'd fair in terms of success though.
|
It's got quite a big following, so i think if it was handled well it'd be thooper good.
...purely 'cos the Eldar are a bit lush-like though. Though i can imagine studios saying "Oo-err! Let's do it like 'Dungeons and Dragons'!! Let's throw in EVERY race class and just have a big mish-mash!" ...which'd be annoying. If anything they should base it on the 'Dawn of War' games, which had some good storylines. ...with a good splodge of Eldar warring. Rar. |
They could base it on something from one of the storylines that involve the Imperium joining with the Eldar to fight against the forces of chaos, I believe that happened in the rule book (OMG NERD). With some Tau big guns action thrown in for the yanks.
|
I don't think that would appeal to the general audience, but with the way movies have been why not but since I don't know anything about the story I can't determine its appeal, the people who like this stuff hang around my local hobby shop
|
What about Red Dwarf? I think that would go over pretty well, too. Basically anything Games Workshop has ever done could translate very well into a summertime popcore flick.
|
I think they're making a Red Dwarf film.
|
In Superman Returns they have him leave to visit Krypton and don't even show Krypton. Whats up with that? And Lex Luthor has been a mad scientist, a military dictator, and president of the United States but this time for the big movie he's a fruity and anal-retentive real estate developer? And don't even get me started on Super Kid. If that guy shows up in the next movie I'm going to go berserk.
|
1) Wasn't Krypton destroyed?
2) Real estate? 3) Superkid? I don't really read the comics or shtuffs. I used to be into it, though purely for ornamental reasons - and Dark Eldar have a sooper-cool history et al. But if there was to be a film, it'd probably have to have the main race as the Marines, with the Eldar making an appearance. Then maybe after the third, have a spin-off with the Eldar. |
Yeah, but Superman went away to Krypton, its where he is returning from. And there is a kid with powers in it(moves a grand piano) and he kills somebody. And yeah, Lex Luthor is played by Kevin Spacey and he's a real estate mogul.
|
Obviously it'd be about Ultra-marines. :p They're all that GW care about. :p
|
Is super-kid Superman's son?
*deletes rant about how biologically impossible that is in the light of everything else about Superman* |
Went to see the film this evening, it’s just been released in the UK – what? Yesterday? Recently, anyway – and I found it average. Bit boring, I hate Kate Bosworth, I was waiting for this thing to finish. One of the daftest films I’ve seen. I fell on the floor. And the solution to this potential major planetary catastrophe? That was crap, wasn’t it?
But there was some good! The plane sequence was nice, Spacey knows how to play fun one-note villains to a T, oh! And Parker Posey was absolutely the best thing in the film. I love that kind of dumb, campy woman. In films. Singer, Spacey and Routh are gay. I feel this needs to be said. MF’s Awesome Rating = 3/5 |
Isn't Spacey married?
But I had heard the rumour that Routh got the role by sleeping with Singer. I tend to believe that sort of thing is just a conspiracy theory. |
