I think the whole thing with Munch repopulating his species should be kept to something like an introduction.

The industrials would be up to their nefarious deeds again, and so Abe would have to go stop them, yada yada yada, there's a fart joke somehwere, then it's done.

Mudoko_Jedi 06-02-2006 03:02 AM

ok, i did mean the repoduction thing in a movie* tap A tap A come on hump that can of gaviar faster>

magic9mushroom 06-04-2006 07:25 PM

You sick bastard it could have elements of RTS in it

Bullet Magnet 06-05-2006 12:02 AM

We don't actually know whether the gabbiar eggs are already fertilised or not. Refrigeration would slow the development of the embryos. I hope to Odd that they are, or inbreeding will lead to a very short lived Gabbit comeback.

Nate 06-05-2006 04:09 AM

I always understood that they were unfertilised and Munch would have had to have been the father of them all.

Bullet Magnet 06-05-2006 06:40 AM

As do many. Where did this idea come about?

Jordan 06-05-2006 10:18 AM

Have any of you read the description for Munch's Exoddus on the Oddworld Universe site? Munch and Abe go 2 Ma'Spa to repopulate the Gabbits.
Here is the Link:

Wil 06-05-2006 11:10 AM

Ah, that could be the source of the assumption. Fansites are indeed dangerous. Except those of an encyclopædic nature.

I repeat that the only people ever to suggest that the Gabbit eggs are unfertilized are fans.

Jordan 06-05-2006 11:44 AM

Lol nice suggestion Max, If only the Official Oddworld Site was still updated...

Zerox 06-06-2006 03:08 AM

I doubt it would be called that. Exoddus means a large or important exit etc., with Abe helping the other Mudokons to 'leave'. I doubt a whole game would revolve around Munch helping Fuzzles to escape, they're not his own kind, and they were only really in the Vykkers labs. I reckon the title would be different, at least.
Fertilisation of the egg's should be possible, and it may not be interdreeding completely as the eggs may have come from diffrent mothers. That is, if Gabbits are gendered at all.
Sam should definitely be in it, only one non realistic graphic of her was even in the game (Sam's labour eggs) and more of her would really have been expected after the all 300 Mudokons rescue in AE...if you haven't done that, it says that you will find out about your long lost Mudokon mother when you meet Munch.
I'm not sure *have to go now, will edit later*

Wil 06-06-2006 03:15 AM

Munch's Exoddus was indeed intended to supply the story that had to be cut from Munch's Oddysee. However, Lorne suspects that future Oddworld games would be tied in to his films. In that way, when the second part of the Quintology is released, maybe we can expect a rectifying retcon, i.e. Munch's Oddysee - The Director's Cut. ;)

Zerox 06-06-2006 12:06 PM

As I was going to say earlier, I think maybe Starnger may meet up with them. Or something. It depends on where Starnger's situated, but it seems unlikely it's anywhere near Mudo's. Not on that landmass, by all means. I feel that Stranger's home etc. and the creatures living there are alot more advanced than on Mudo's, where things seem more wild, and odd in that sense. Most of the creatures in Stranger seem to be very humanoid, and the Clakkerz are too...well, chicken like (chicken=real animal) for my liking.

Jordan 06-06-2006 12:25 PM

Well, maybe Stranger's home is in the West, for obvious reasons, like it being in the desert, like on Earth in the West it is just dry and it is a desert. =)

It was stated that Stranger's Wrath was set in western Mudos.

Jordan 06-06-2006 10:36 PM

Hmmm.... Mudos? I heard it was on a totally different continent alltogether... Maybe your right, I dunno.

Xavier 06-06-2006 11:02 PM

used is absolutly right

Dancing Steef 06-06-2006 11:58 PM

This is truly one intressting subject :) hrmmm... why not produce another game;) The other games are so cool and welldone - none can measure themselves with OWI:cheer:!

Oh, and I'm very curious what the movie will be about:p

~DS~

Bullet Magnet 06-07-2006 12:55 AM

It probably will be called Exoddus. The Oddysee franchise (indefinitely on hold) actually got it's name when GT Interactive changed the name of Soulstorm to Abe's Oddysee, so then we have Munch's Oddysee, Squeek's Oddysee, and that other one I can't remember, so the bonus games all start with Exoddus.

Jordan 06-07-2006 02:04 AM

Wow, I just read the Stranger's profile, I never knew his weakness was rushing his teeth. Cool, he lives on Mudo's!

Wil 06-07-2006 04:18 AM

Abe's Oddysee was orginally titled SoulStorm. How do you know it was GT's call?

And there's a freaky tendency to put an apostrophe in Mudos cropping up.

Jordan 06-07-2006 04:31 AM

How come Abe's Oddysee is gonna be called Soulstorm? I thought Soulstorm was on Abe's Exoddus?

Wil 06-07-2006 04:53 AM

During the development of Abe's Oddysee, it was called SoulStorm. Addictive brew was originally going to feature in AO, but it never made it. It then, of course, formed the central storyline of AE.

Jordan 06-07-2006 05:38 AM

Oops I put Why is Abe's Oddysee gonna be called Soulstorm I meant Why WAS Abe's Oddysee gonna be called Soulstorm, my mistake these flipping school keyboards!

Nate 06-07-2006 06:03 AM

:

Abe's Oddysee was orginally titled SoulStorm. How do you know it was GT's call?

It says in the art book, page 99.

See, you even get the page number - now that's real service. But only because it's you Max... ;)

Xavier 06-07-2006 09:09 AM

Soulstorm, my friend, Soulstorm

Jordan 06-07-2006 01:08 PM

Hee hee your funny!! Ha ha look at that!! Soz i'm just SO hyper coz I got Abe's Exoddus for the PC WOOT!!

Wil 06-08-2006 03:47 AM

Argh! Double blunder! :p Xav, you could have spared me the shame and edited my post.

I keep checking eBay for the PC port of Abe's Exoddus, but I only ever see it in the Replay packaging, which is not what I want.

Jordan 06-08-2006 10:11 AM

i think you can only get it in replay packaging, mine is replay.

Zerox 06-08-2006 10:51 AM

GT changed the name to Abe's Oddysee. Its in "The art of Oddworld Inhabitants"
It also explains the old story of why Abe lost a finger.

Wil 06-08-2006 11:09 AM

Nate beat you to it, Zerox. ;)

I know there is non-Replay packaging out there somewhere, because I've saw it in the shops yonks back when it first came out, and I would much prefer it to that non-Oddworld design. It's just a personal preference.

Xavier 06-08-2006 11:10 AM

yep NDW said it ;)
plus to story of the finger is in Alf's faq

edit: damn, got beaten too :p

Mudoko_Jedi 06-09-2006 01:22 AM

why did abe lose his finger

Zerox 06-09-2006 01:46 AM

Apparently, there was something about that in Japan, no four fingered characters are allowed because a sign of holding four fingers to someone makes them some sort of almost slave like meat packer, because presumably they kept losing their fingers, hence fours fingers is offensive. and Oddworld couldn't pay up, so they had to remove a fingers. Also, even thought the story is unkown, the 'Mudokons pops' graphic also had to be changed for Japanses players from a head on a stick to a happy ice pop graphic. Doesn't explain that story in the book. Apparently Disney has to pay $5,000,000 a year to keep Mickey mouse there. But thats probably small fry for Disney, knowing them.
And the actualy story is on apge 45. 99 is the awards and timeline page.
